Well, this agenda certainly blows. We blame the Muaat, as usual.

Well. Unlike some people at least we want to watch the galaxy burn.

We think we would actually prefer to lose a ship with every new technology than exhaust all of our planets this round. With any luck someone might use an action card to rid us of the law entirely should it prove sufficiently bothersome. Muaat prefers exhausting planets, from the sound of it. Any other opinions?

Sure. What was it that the Confusing Legal Text AC did? :P
I thought that was the 'Ditch this Agenda' AC

No, Confusing Legal Text makes someone else the elected target if the person playing it was elected for a bad agenda. But MrBlarney did an analysis of the agendas that target players in the other TI4 game thread, and only 1 was truly negative from what I recall. If so, it's an absurdly useless card to hang on to.

It definitely wouldn't help with this agenda.

    edit: Confusing Legal Text
When you are elected as the outcome of an agenda: Choose 1 player. That player is the elected player instead.

Like, I think exhausting our point leaders limited planets and the merchant cats quadrant is pretty good, but so is forcing people to build low cost ships. I could go for either.

We would prefer the For side of this agenda, but will attempt to mitigate the Against side if chosen.

    Play Trade Rider
After an agenda is revealed: You cannot vote on this agenda. Predict aloud an outcome of this agenda. If your prediction is correct, gain 5 trade goods.

    Predict Against.

We... shall express no opinion as everybody has decided the space cats are an insignificant threat and that only we matter. We can maybe score exactly two stage 2 objectives and have pretty much lost already

Once jakobagger chimes in, you're all free to start voting. Here's a reminder of what's at stake:

    Anti-Intellectual Revolution (Law)
For: After a player researches a technology, he must destroy 1 of his non-fighter ships.
Against: At the start of the next strategy phase, each player chooses and exhausts 1 planet for each technology he owns.

    Voting Order
The L1z1x Mindnet: Trade Rider - Against; Up to 4 votes if Trade Rider is Sabotaged.
The Winnu: Up to 18 votes; must be in even increments
The Emirates of Hacan: Up to 14 votes
The Naalu Collective: Up to 8 votes
Sardakk N'orr: Up to 9 votes
The Embers of Muaat: Up to 11 votes; Speaker

Okay, it's been long enough waiting for jakobagger. I'll rule L1z1x's card as going through, no other cards played, and it's time to vote. @Phyphor is up first.

Actually looking at it, the N'orr would prefer it to pass. I'm not terribly interested in any more tech and while there are a couple races that would get punished more for Against, they also have more planets so the exhaust would be equally punishing.

What is it worth to you all to not have your planets exhausted?

@MrBody and @Ketar might want to be notified of this extortion I suppose, but I don't expect either of them to foot the bill.

    Fair enough.
Vote 5 Against, resolve the tie Against (assuming there is a tie)

    Maybe, maybe not.
It could also have been a collective action problem where everyone leaves voting to everyone else.

    @Lykouragh perhaps.
Otherwise @MrBlarney for the next Agenda.
