I would have assumed that the physical edition would register to Steam, if it does that you're fine. If it doesn't, you may be able to purchase the upgrade directly from Cyanide?
Ah, the website claims that "Blood Bowl 2 Legendary Edition will be available as a stand-alone game for newcomers, and as an affordable expansion for all Blood Bowl 2 players this September on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC." You should be fine.
Okay mixed teams seem super interesting, but yeah, seems the key is to basically create them as normal teams and then branch out, cause otherwise you are beginning with 0 rerolls and maybe an apoth.
Has anybody tried the Slann Kislev Circus yet? I always thought that roster looked really interesting, being kind of a high risk / high reward setup. Also their big guy is a trained bear, which is all kinds of awesome.
Mixed Teams will be really fun in a league where you are required to submit a reason for your team other than "Literally everone starts with Blodge, how awesome is that?"
I fucking hate people sometimes.

Wait, it's possible to live the dream? And you're hating on people who do?

Hate the real enemy. People who play dwarf teams.
Honestly, no, but you can get some annoying fucking teams.
You can field four Blodge Amazons and round it out with 7 Block Norse
Longbeards backed by War Dancers
Literally all the elves.

Although to be fair, longbeards backed by war dancers is a combo that should get people put on to some sort of government watch list.
I think that's the reason mixed teams doesn't interest me. The teams are meant to be balanced by their compositions; the positions themselves aren't intended to be balanced against each other on a 1-1 basis. I feel like the meta for that is going to stagnate really quickly.
I played the first Blood Bowl on the 360, and didn't care for it much. Took a chance on the legendary edition on PS4 because I saw it had a campaign that functions as an extended tutorial, and also a solo league VS AI. I'm really enjoying this one a lot more! The campaign is helping me understand how to play Blood Bowl way better than the first one did.
There's some XCOM levels of vein bursting RNG foolery though... Fans stormed the field two kickoffs in a row, the ref had it out for my team, a goddamn goblin KO'd my Ogre, and these damn dwarves were winning every single dodge roll and somehow intercepted a pass with only a 17% chance of doing so...
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

Yes, Nuffle giveth and Nuffle taketh away…
Once again the software proves itself to be a perfect simulation of the board game.
Trust me, every cardboard Coach has a story like this. Plus one from the opposite side of the coin.
I mean, I know it's a tabletop game. Never played that though, but I have previously played the first video game. Unless there are other Blood Bowl video games?

Mostly playing Amazons and Elves, I have a very relaxed attitude towards the dice killing my players. They're Amazons and Elves, they're supposed to die sooner more often than later.
They're also supposed to effin' dodge, though. Which they mostly do, to be honest, so I'm still cool about it.
So far the only unfortunate dice that actually really got to me was when I Apothecaried a Death into another Death. Which... yeah. That's not what I saved my Apothecary for.
I still believe there were some shenanigans going on with the RNG in the previous Legendary Edition. Waaaaaay too many instances of rolling double skulls, then the reroll coming up with double skulls again. It's a 1 in 1300 chance happening and statistically should have happened maybe once in my entire time playing it. Instead it was closer to 10 times. That's way too far outside the expected outcome to comfortably chalk up to chance.
Double skulls is 1 in 9 , quad skulls is 1 in 36 . I’ve rolled triple both down and then double skulls and a both down , now THAT was bull lol.
Actually double skulls is one is 36, since there's only one skull per die. But that's still a 3% chance of a turnover per block thrown, and that's assuming you have block or wrestle to negate the skull-pow (it's 1 in 9 without). Or in other words, if you only throw 4 blocks per turn, you'll still roll a double-skull once every 9 turns, about twice a game.
Expect it to happen. Often.
Play long enough and you'll see things that you never thought were possible. Triple skulls re-rolled into triple skulls, or a khemri skeleton catching a long pass in 2 tackle zones and rolling a 6+ dodge, 5+ dodge, 4+ dodge, and two go for it's to score without using a re-roll (I've done both of those).
Mmmm? Yeah double skulls in 1 in 36. Rolling it twice in a row is 1 in 1296. Rolling triple skulls twice in a row is 1 in 46,656.
I can't ever recall seeing a triple snakeyes/boxcar physically rolled twice in a row in my entire gaming life, only in the Bloodbowl PC game.
1 in 46,465 is also the odds of rolling a 7 six times in a row with two dice. If someone bet big in craps on the pass line and rolled six 7s in a row, the casino would take notice and likely stop the game. At the very least change out the dice. There's a point where the possible becomes so unlikely that shenanigans is the more likely explanation.
So just started the new season 2-0-0. Broke because I had to replace a dead ghoul and rolled garbage for winning but hey it happens . At least my wolf leveled and all mvps and spp have gone to positionals . Sooner I get block on the golems the better.

I can't wait for this expansion to get here.
Might even help teach people (me) what stuff does.
You miss the attitude era?
So notes say you can burn 50k when hiring a merc for a skill Now? Anyone try that yet?
Played two matches against Undead, one against Ogres and one against Halflings.
Of those, the Halflings were the most deadly, killing two of my players including my only Guard Blitzer.
Nuffle giveth, but mostly Nuffle taketh away.
2 Gutter Runners
4 Chaos Warriors
1 Rat Ogre
1 Minotaur
3 Gobbos
I want to trade the gobbos for either Stormvermin or Beastmen when I get some money.
Comics, Games, Booze

This game is seriously making me reevaluate what I know about probability and risk.

Stupid phone ruining the fun...

For the effort, the first game is okay. But you're correct that it doesn't do much to help new players.
You'll still get fucked by the dice, however. No negotiating that away.

First match was against Dwarves. There was a whole lot of shoving, punches being thrown and, I think, about 3 KOs in the entire match.
Anyways, end of the second half. Very last turn, I'm out of rerolls and my ball-carrier has a clear run to the touchdown line if...
If...
He manages to make one Going For It. All I have to do on this last turn is not roll a one and I can score.
And I... didn't roll a one.
My player scored.
Nuffle is going to kill my entire team next match for this.
Anyone still playing this? It was on sale and I picked it up and figured playing with all y'all was better than randos.
