Still I am curious about some stuff in the game since in the video they mention the return of special characters?
Are hired guns gone?
Did Heavies and juves go away in favor of the specialist?
Sly GW dropping the hint that the Zone mortalis board works with the terrain in nercomunda
I do wonder when the new gangs will be out and will they have themed wargear like the escher/goliath gangs now?
Heavies and juves are part of the gangwar expansion, as far as I remember.
Heavies are sorta gone, actually; the Champions can take heavy gear and gangers that gain sufficient experience can become specialists but there’s no longer an explicit “Heavy” type/rank. Juves are definitely a thing though.
Hired guns are not gone and will be getting plastic “character” style packs. Further, the range of hirelings available has gone up; suggested ones include scouts/runners (not ratskins), friendly docs, and even cooks, all of whom may potentially see time on-table if a rival raids your HQ - giving you something else to worry about since they aren’t exactly combat monsters. But even the range of types you can pick up explicitly to fight for you is going up; to one day hopefully include an Imperial Beastman who is explicitly the same guy from the old catalogues, just forty years older and retired from the Guard to become a bounty hunter.
The remaining core Clan gangs are all scheduled for “2018” but no greater detail on that has been released yet.
So does anyone know how much of my old Escher gang would be table legal under the new rules? Is the heavy stubber out? What about the leader with a plasma gun?
Building a Shadowsword for Adepticon. I knew it was going to be big, but I wasn't exactly prepared for just how large the damn thing is. Thousand Son for scale.

A couple of the other people posted their dudes, and they were both powerful Inquisitors with long histories and reputations etc etc. Not Mary Sue level, but still typical "radical Inquisitors who don't always play by the rules but they get results, damn it" etc etc. As a result I made my guy the exact opposite - a brand new Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor who (due to rapid transition between Alcolyte to Interrogator to full fledged Inquisitor) has very little practical experience and is Puritanical as fuck.
Now I just have to decide which model to use. I have the standard "Inquisitor with Bolt Pistol and Power Sword" mini from GW, and it's a cool looking model (I think it's the best looking Inquisitor model they sell), but I'm worried that a bunch of people are going to end up using that same model for that same reason, so I'm thinkinf of bashing something together from bits.

Irusk, Malakov, Strakhov, Sorscha, maybe Zerkova if you swapped the wand out for a gun could work. I'd love to see the backstory for an inquisitor using Karchev.
Old witch using a power fist or lightning claws and the scrapjack standing in for a servitor? Probably not as a freshly minted Inquisitor, but could be fun to build a backstory around an inquisitor who looks like an angry old granny.
Maybe check the Protectorate models if you're looking for less heavily armored great coats and more flowy robes and fire.

About... Jesus, really, 15 years ago? I turned Sorscha into an inquisitor. Cut off her staff, attached a storm bolter, and since I gave my Celestine wings, I had the spare cherub cload on hand - it's a pretty wicked looking setup.
Let me tell you all about the worst piece of luck I had during Blood and Glory.
So I had a Farseer, and she wanted to cast Doom on a target. Double 1s.
Okay, no big deal. I'll use Runes of the Farseer to re-roll one of those dice. Another 1.
Okay, I'll use a command point to re-roll the other die. Another 1.
Alright, that's fine. Her Ghosthelm lets her save self-inflicted mortal wounds on a 2+.
Another 1.
Okay. Cool. Her Warlord Trait, Fate's Messenger, lets her avoid an inflicted wound on a 6+.
She fucking gets it and avoids taking any damage.
The same Farseer in a later game managed to die in close combat with Gulliman, then got resurrected by the Phoenix Gem item and killed about three of my own units to do so while failing to wound Gulliman at all.
I have very conflicted feelings about my Farseer currently.
So I was building my army for the next campaign mission. I am playing as the defender on the sabotage mission and it says to not use many if any vehicles at all for flavor. I do have a single rhino and a heldrake (my lord's riding dragon because it amuses me) and some hellbrutes but they are just big infantry now anyway. But most marines and cultist.
And I was like, I am going to try a Noise Marine beat squad with chainswords and an icon because I am playing Imperium.
Doing it in my head the 9 man squad, I am putting an exalted champion with them in the rhino, with a decked out champ with a doomsiren and plasma pistol is still under 180 pts and they put out a lot of chop. 3 attacks each thanks to the chainswords, hitting on 3s, that get an extra attack on 5+ and with the excessive violence can get more for each model they kill. And then they die they lob grenades.
I bought a Fellblade from a guy, he brought it over last night. He originally used it with his Ultramarines so it was blue with a white stripe. After some work it is now black with a red stripe/trim. It needs a little more work, but I should be able to get it done over the next few days.
I now have two Lords of War (the other being a Knight Warden), which means I am kiiiinda tempted to pick up another at some point just so I can do a Super Heavy detachment. The next Apocalypse game should be a lot of fun.

Is it feasible to run a mostly Death Guard army without plaguebearers? I feel like most of what I see online is just a few actual marines and mostly demons.
"Being cool, but (too) expensive" basically describes every army or unit I like in 40k.
To be fair, it describes most of the units in the game. If you care at all about efficiency, looking at every army book makes you throw out about half the entries as completely inefficient. Out of that half, 1-3 units will stand out as obviously super great, then you have a myriad of things that have overlapping levels of efficiency.
Everyday I wake up is the worst day of my life.

I got to put my half painted World Eaters on the table for the first time. My transports ate it really early vs guard which made me worried about the rest of the match. I ended up only losing by a slim margin with a lot of points scored on both sides overall. Highlights included a lone berzerker solo killing a sentinel in 2 turns and a cultist squad killing like 13 scions. +1 attack on charges with cheap units can be very mean
Biggest disappointment was Kharn missing a ton and getting shot to shit on the next turn
I picked up the tyranid codex today, it’s actually got a lot of neat new stuff in it! I don’t have any tyranid models other than a cheap starter pack of termagants to practice colors on, but how awful would I do with a list revolving around throwing as many spore mines as possible on the field? So biovores, sporocysts, and a shoebox full of spore mines and mucolids. Just choke the entire battlefield with floating, bobbing, deepstriking testicles. Literally balls everywhere, gonad-powered mortal wound spam on a level that would make smite spam look quaint.

I have no idea but now I really wanna see it happen to someone…
Biovores are a bit weird because it’s better to miss and spawn the mine than hit with the gun so your doing weird shit like moving it to try and miss .
Halos Nach TariffCan you blame me?I'm too famous.Registered Userregular
I do kinda miss that they took away Biovores overwatch ability (understandably) cos it was briefly hilarious just to be able to completely block a charge when you inevitably missed the overwatch shots, or else make the charge much more explodey than it would have been otherwise.
8mm for the Adpetus Titanic's reboot? Sad Panda emoticon.
Even putting aside the obsolesence of my vast Epic collection I just cannot paint anything between 6mm and 15mm. My attempts at Warmaster minis were horrendous. Epic scale I can crank out company after company, 15 mm has enough space for some detailing, 10 and 12 mm are a horrible middle ground for me, I assume 8mm will be the same.
Don’t worry, you won’t be seeing Adeptus Titanicus infantry for a while, not officially at any rate. All Titans, all the time, maybe a few tanks?
Has there been any recent news on the Adeptus Titanicus front? I assume it all got pushed back to release 8th edition, but I love me some stompy robots so uh... I am hungry for info.

Ok, so, the game is probably due for release next year sometime, either all plastic or plastic Titans with resin knights, no infantry or tanks, Warlords are around 8" tall. The game is done, ruleswise; the delay is to allow for 8th edition and also to convert from resin to plastic. Interview here with James Hewitt where he talks about it a little.
I picked up another Dreadnought last night, an old metal one. It kinda bugs me that the old metal Dreads have so much more detail than the newer plastic stuff did. The pushfit Black Reach/Vedros Dreads were practically bare by comparison. I've noticed that the old metal Terminators are the same. I got a good deal on it, but it didn't have a base, so that's the next thing on the list.
I didn't realize how heavy the little metal bastards are, if I ever got mugged outside of my FLGS I could use it as a weapon.

I will say the Sisters' codex release might be the largest drop in models outside the Primaris.

I want to call you guys jerks but to be honest I'm thinking of making him Ordo Hereticus and naming him John Stalvern and seeing if anyone notices.
And yes you should totally do that.

If I may offer a suggestion, Khador Warcasters from War Machine tend to have a very Inquisitorial look about them IMO.
