So I guess maybe Georgia-Noter Dame won't be the most important OOC game this season...

The answer was actually USC/Notre Dame, because it was most important for my sanity.

I'm now more upset that ever that we were basically a terrible bounce on 4th down away from beating Miami.

Cougs held on against Utah in a 33-28 win that sounds like a scorigami with but probably isn't

    goodbye, Butch

maybe the next Vols coach can break a losing streak against a conference team

it shouldn't be hard, literally any conference win would do it

    First of all: fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

Second: if UGA wins out, we’re still probably in? I realize that’s a big if. Also if auburn beats bama, do they win the west?

Uh, actually if Auburn beats Bama you've got a 3-way tie for first in the West with Alabama > LSU > Auburn > Alabama so wouldn't Bama win with the better overall record since Auburn and LSU both have two losses (1 in conference 1 out)?

  • enlightenedbumenlightenedbum Registered User regular
LSU has two SEC losses (Miss State and Bama)

OK, I wonder if S&P secretly accounts for Kinnick being full of blood and spiders, because they still have OSU #1.

I think S&P has individual home advantage adjustments based on historical record? I seem to recall Connelly mentioning that in a blog post somewhere.

I haven’t seen an injury update on when any of the million linebackers might be back for the auburn game, but if the answer is none of them then I don’t know if we can beat them, let alone Georgia. Just Turrible.

So according to the CBS college football poll, Notre Dame is still ranked higher than Miami even though Miami beat the crap out of them this weekend. What the hell?

At least the AP poll makes some sort of sense, even if they didn't do anything with UCF other than have two teams jump them in the rankings despite a win.

Bama's injured LB's are gone for the season, dude.

“I started seeing some tells with the way the offense was lining up and what some players on the offense – particularly on the offensive line were doing. You knew whether it was run or pass based on one of the offensive tackles. One of the offensive tackles was very very lazy in his stance.

“So when it was a pass, he was very upright and you could tell that he needed to kick back and get back for a pass. When it was a run, he was leaning in, he was locked in to make sure he goes and gets his guy. It was particularly noticeable when he started getting tired. As all linemen do, they get tired. He would then start to really lean in on his runs, sit back on his passes. And I said “’ow, I could call run-pass this whole game. Run-pass, run-pass.’ I was right.”

Penn State also developed a pattern in terms of where Saquon Barkley lined up and which kind of play it would run, Vilma said.

“So now, when he was on the side of the defensive tackle that’s lined up over the guard, more times than not he was getting the ball and it was hitting in a certain area – the A-gap or cutting back,” Vilma said. “Kind of designed that way.”

From later on in the show:

“And sure enough, I remember watching the Ohio State game’s second half. And they lit up that Penn State offense. And I would like to think that it’s that they knew they had the tell.”

    Whelp.

Third time with the most points! Beat that suckers! Ya can't! Clearly this is the metric we should be using to decide who wins. It is the most objective measure of skill we have without a doubt.

Rofl what? Not even Texags was crazy enough to entertain the idea of Dabo leaving. I've seen Petersen and Patterson suggested (and highly unlikely) but wow. I have no idea if that's just a random writer looking for clicks or an "inside source," but after all the "hahaha texas thinks they can get Saban" talk of a few years ago I'd hope anyone affiliated with the school had some discretion.
