Thanos looks like his front yard has a confederate flag, a kiddie pool half full of dirt, and a couple of dogs fucking under the front porch

The potency of this image is too much for me

Don't fuck with Rod Thanos's fuckin' truck. It's the one with the nuts.

rod thanos is that guy who never has a job but always has enough money to buy more guns and shitty cars

"see what you do is, you gotta go see old man Perkins, and take a rack of natty light with you. he'll give you a wheelbarrow fulla old carbs. you clean them shits up, take 'em on down to Terry at the five and dime, shit, that's five, ten bucks a pop."

Rod Thanos exclusively drinks diet mt dew and old milwaukee, and used to run a backyard wrestling federation in the early aughts.

Rod Thanos will take you out to his barn and let you watch his dog hump the dead pig for just a buck.

The rest of us are assembling Mr. Rod Thanos from snippets of people we knew/know in real life. If you need to talk about some stuff, just shoot me a message, hoss.

    The opening credits are terrible
It took me 4 episodes and an imdb search to realize Karolina's dad isn't Matthew Lillard

Oh man, I really like the opening. It’s such a unique tone

I kinda agree with the Sepinwall/Grubb assessment that the tone of the show is kinda like a modern-set Stranger Things

Ah shit, I was excited to watch it

I’ve never been to LA, but the opening is exactly what I imagine LA melancholy to be

I’m not sure if I’m helping

I think my favorite part of the trailer besides the theme kicking in is Peter’s Spider-sense

It’s a real small moment, but I find it very effective

The trailer looked kinda cool, but what was with andy from parks and rec rolling in with a couple of muppets and she-hulk at the end?

Andy's staying on Rod Thanos' couch for a while because times got hard in Pawnee.

I think Infinity War is gonna scratch the crossover itch in a way AoU/Civil War didn’t. You have so many different elements of the MCU coming together, with so many potential character combinations/scenarios. It should be a lot of fun in a novel way I don’t think we’ve seen since the original Avengers.

Just give me all the Infinity Stones you have. Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, "Give me a lot of Infinity Stones." What I said was, "Give me all the Infinity Stones you have". Do you understand?

I hope they stick with a small group of main characters

AoU really suffered from having too many protagonists

Civil War sort of worked with Tony vs Steve, but also sort or lost something

I had the same problem with the Lord of the Rings movies too, so maybe it's me

age of ultron still worked for me but it was definitely pushing up against the limit

civil war was a captain america movie so it didn't need to give everyone an arc

I think splitting folks into groups will make the huge cast more digestible here

I trust the Russos to be able to handle a large ensemble. Civil War felt pretty good. I do expect that some characters will get less play than others (Hawkeye may just go away, who knows) but if the movie focus on T'Challa, Cap, and Peter with a side of Thor and the Guardians I'll be happy as a clam

I am not actually that hyped by that trailer tbh

Like, Josh Brolin is a great actor and the VFX on Thanos is p good but oh god who cares about his motivation or reasons for doing anything

does he have a fucking character

like basically unless Infinity War does something amazing, Thanos is just Steppenwolf from Justice League and who fucking cares

I remember Ultron working better for me than Civil War, but I haven't gone back to rewatch either

The jarring nature of the big superhero fight in Civil War lowers it in my estimation quite a bit

I think I actually like Ultron more than Avengers 1. The Vision and Ultron stuff just scratch my sci-fi interests in the right way.

I have faith in the writers

The MCU hasn't had a movie I'd consider bad yet

Though I've not seen Iron Man 3, Civil War, GotG 2, or Thor 3

I would be hype as hell if they had released a badass character trailer of Thanos and his squad. Start hyping up how absolutely fucked the MCU heroes are.

Because THANOS IS LAME AS HELL right now and they need to fix that bad.

Also I think there is an entirely intentional allegory of how much it sucks to make a studio/Marvel movie.

I definitely came away from it liking it more than the first Avengers movie, although I've gotten a bit more nitpicky about it in hindsight.

Including Wanda and Pietro in your Avengers movie does a lot for me, honestly.

Can’t the tragic event just be that Hawkeye is killed?

so thanos gets power first and then pops space into there on the orange planet which to me looks like he hits xandar first, the guardians track him to thor but arrive too late, then he moves to earth where he assaults new york directly and transports tony and his gang to orange planet for a fight while his leftenants attack wakanda

A2 did feel a bit overstuffed, nothing crazy though. Also I wanted the party scene to never stop and just be the whole movie, would have been better balanced

I thought CW did a much better job, Wanda and Vision and such were like the random background X-Men, but with actual history

I hope IW does more of that. If it can strike the balance Crisis on Earth-X does as far as mixing up the groups, that would be ideal

I thought civil war did a pretty good job of making the characters fit into the story, with the exceptions of Ant Man and Spider-Man.

The big superhero fight in Civil War felt like a big superhero fight for the sake of a big superhero fight

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Cap to go around recruiting dudes to go get in a brawl at an abandoned airport in two days time when he's just trying to stay ahead of Tony

It would have been better if it was presented as a constant pursuit, with allies being picked off on both sides the entire way through, rather than everyone meeting up in the parking lot to settle things
