Yes... Its already almost Christmas time again.
To anyone who is not familiar with what this thread is for here is a brief synopsis...
Every year we have a few people who just can't afford to enjoy the holidays. Maybe they want something for themselves or for family... It doesn't matter. This is your opportunity to sign up to help those who need it.
How it works: Simple! Send me a PM and let me know if you want to send gifts or need to receive gifts.
If you're a sender let me know how many people you want to send to and whether or not you wish to remain anonymous. Senders are not obligated to send. If something comes up and you can't for some reason just let me know so I can rearrange the gifting.
If you're a receiver make sure to include your address and information on what you like or a link to your Amazon wishlist. There is no guarantee you will get something off of this list but it's nice for people to have an idea. Also let me know who you are looking for gifts for: Yourself? Your family? Your kids?
Your wife? Receivers MAY NOT REMAIN ANONYMOUS. Expectation is that all gift receivers post what they received and gush about it. Because this unfortunately opens the door for people to be fraudulent, to be a receiver you need to have a history on the forums. No lurkers or new people unless you have someone who can vouch for you. I hate this rule but it's unfortunately necessary. Also YOU CANNOT SIGN UP FOR SECRET SATANS AND AS A RECEIVER ON SECRET SAINTS.
I'd like to get matches out by Nov. 17. That gives everyone 2 weeks to sign up as either a sender or receiver.
One little addition: If you're struggling to make ends meet and provide for yourself or your family in any way please do not hesitate to sign up. I know it can be hard to accept help but the people who sign up as givers absolutely love the joy they can bring to people by helping them out. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, we've almost all been there at some point in our lives. I implore you to sign up if you need to.

Setting up this thread and watching people post about the things they receive is one of the best parts of my holiday every year.

I am told that this is one package of multiple. I don't know what number that is, but it is far greater than I dreamed would happen. There are 3 lego sets for my wonderful child to build that look super fun. Rey's Speeder, an AT-ST, and a Rebel Trooper Pack. I am told part of this present is incomplete without a later one. I am assuming it has to do with something in this list, but I honestly can't imagine what. This alone is more than what I would have asked for out of this. And yet there is more.
There is also a Star Wars origami book that she will spend much time pouring over. She spent time with a different origami book for some time before getting bored with what she could make. There is literally no way for the saint that sent this to us to have known that though. Hell I don't think most of my family knows because it just never came up. It was last year and I had forgotten about it to be entirely honest. The joy she will get will be immense though since she is a huge Star Wars and art project fan.
We have a Yoshi plushy that is in probably the perfect color of purplish pink. It is adorable beyond words. You think I am done? Hah! You under estimate how amazing the people of this forum are.
We also have Thing Explainer. A book I did not exist but cannot be more perfect for my little one. She learns faster than I can keep up with, and pours over books like this. It will be months of love from this minimum. One year from this post she will still be re-reading this to learn more and more. I have flipped through it briefly and it seems immensely cool and covers a broad range of topics.
Finally we have Gonuts for Donuts. A cute game that looks to me to be similar to Sushi Go. We are huge board game nerds here, and she likes playing games with us. I am thrilled to have another one to break out and try with her. It looks super adorable. I am going to love spending time playing it with her.
I cannot describe what I am feeling right now. I will never feel bad doing something for the benefit of my child. I am a survivor first and foremost so I got rid of that silly pride thing ages ago. This goes so far beyond simply helping. Honestly, this isn't very far off from what we have been able to provide in years past. And there is more?! I don't know that I have done enough for this forum to deserve this. My beautiful, amazing, wonderful child is going to have an amazing Christmas because people on this forum decided they would rather spend their hard earned money on the child of a person who posts some dumb ass shit from time to time. Thank you. The words aren't enough, but they are what I have at the moment.
PS. My future feet are super pissed about this Christmas. They hate you all. They are a surly pair though so don't mind them. They just dislike the fact that one of their jobs is to find any missing legos in the middle of the night on the way to the bathroom.

Inside was a guide to simple stuff you can build with modeling clay as well as a set of tool to help sculpt the clay. This is amazingly on point as gifts! She has recently taken to modeling clay as her latest artistic medium to surprising success. The guide appears to focus on animals which is guaranteed to delight her even more. I am assuming the message I received re: incomplete was here and I will soon be telling you all about the amazing modeling clay . A minor mystery solve in a satisfying way. A present unto itself.
We also have received a paint by sticker book! It is a bunch of stickers used to make animal pictures. This looks fun because stickers and animals! A twofer! I am excited to see how she comes down on this. When she does these activities with me we make it work as best we can. With her mother everything has to be perfect. I am assuming she will be doing this one mostly on her own at this age. The question is who installed their message better! I will be certain to update with pictures!
We also have another game! Einstein: His Amazing Life and Incomparable Science. Another fun looking game! This one can even be played co-operatively or competitively! I am looking forward to lots of fun games!
We also have a gift for my beloved spouse! I put her in because she has been having a rough year, and it is made worse by my pursuing a graduate degree (more on that in a second). She is an engineer so loves anything Pi related. So when she got an ornament with a but ton of Pi numbers she was over joyed! She jumped up and down! I was going to wait till Christmas, but an ornament feels like it needs to be hung. Apologies if it is not to the senders wishes, but I just couldn't stand the thought of the gift not being enjoyed for a whole year! It is criminal! I would like to tell you how many digits there are to it, but it is far beyond what I am willing to count. My beloved send her sincerest thanks as I had kept her inclusion secret from her because I am a drama queen who expresses it by setting up wonderful surprises for my loved ones.
So I am pursuing my graduate degree to become a licensed therapist. I suffer from a couple physical disabilities that aren't life threatening, but make the idea of pursuing a degree and working a complete non-starter. I ultimately pulled the trigger to stop working and pursue the degree simply because I was unable to keep doing the low level work I was qualified for and have any real quality of life. I say this all so that you all understand that I did not ask for anything because I felt I had my gift. I got to pursue my dream, and the family has had some sacrifices because of it along the way. Yes in the long run this will be better for my family, but little one is young so such a concept is beyond her. Or it would have been for me I think. She is amazing and as supportive as my beloved spouse because they are both literally the best people ever. This includes times I have to tell her we can't do fun stuff cause I have school, or its related work to deal with. She just smiles and says we can do it later then. If I could figure out what series of weird decision I made to produce this kid I would be able to write a book and make a billion easy. I digress.
In one package there were two finger puppets. I initially glanced at them and assumed they were for the kiddo and I would look closer later. As I looked at one I noticed the word Jung in big letters. Curious, I looked closer and sure enough it was a Carl Jung puppet! The other one is Sigmund Freud! I DID NOT KNOW THESE AMAZING THINGS EXISTED! I could not stop giggling at them for several minutes. So far no one else has found this as funny as I have. Rest assured, it is amazing and adorable and all of you should be enjoying their existence immensely. I assume they are for me because both are pillars of psychotherapy, and them existing in finger puppet form is fucking hysterical. I am going to be nerding out over this with my classmates and they are going to be intensely jealous. If I am wrong my dearest Saint I will correct this, but I can't imagine I am. DID I MENTION THEY ARE MAGNETIC AND STICK TO THE FRIDGE! BECAUSE THAT MAKES THEM EVEN BETTER!
I am not one who cries easily, but I won't pretend I didn't. I won't pretend I am not crying as I type this because it was more than I could have asked for, and everything I needed. Thank you for so, so much. Y'all are amongst the best people I have ever known.
