    OTOH?

I'll be evacing Naalu home system. I even intentionally took the less damaging planet! Don't forget Hacan is a Naalu neighbor who attacked them too (and did more damage).

As far as I recall, my somewhat impulsive attack didn't end up doing any material damage? Sure I negotiated getting the ceasefire to prevent retaliation after I withdrew and the trade agreement for giving up Vefut but that is hardly at the scary end of what a War Sun fleet could have ended up doing.

Winnu and I have mutual ceasefires and given that it seems like I'll need to be spending a lot of energy defending my home based on this turn's events, I have no great interest in spreading myself more thin. And I'm not even sure I could mess up Winnu if I wanted to, the Mecatol Rex fleet has grown pretty impressive.

It would be annoying to lose that space dock, but nothing an invasion wouldn't instantly wipe out and replace with a Construction primary/secondary. I'll value it at 3 TG for the command token it would cost. AND JUST BECAUSE I'M A GREAT GUY, I'll throw in the Tekklar Legions promissory note which should come in handy defending Mecatol.

And that's how you know I won't be threatening Mecatol with an invasion, since that note would screw me in ground combat if I invaded you. I have enough VP sources on my plate to not go sniffing around there. The only ones who could crack Mecatol's ground forces at this point are members of the war sun club. So wouldn't you want to vote for them over me?

So for 3TG I would definitely have outbid MrBody, in deferred payment since I don't have it at this very moment but I could have paid first thing the coming turn and I have kept all agreements I've made so far.

I guess maybe you were just convinced I was the better target, but selling your votes suggests you didn't have strong feelings either way.

But eh, I guess this my punishment for daring to be at work and a bunch of other stuff the whole day.

All my remaining votes for Zohbat, out of principle.

The way that played out I suspect Phyphor wanted to target Resculon all along and was just hoping to get a little extra out of it.

    Nah.
    Don't worry about it.
Now that the transaction's confirmed, @Phyphor was going to vote for you for free.
You're the only one who can contest his home planet.

He looks like he was playing it up to get @MrBody 's TG.
And I wish I could have been in that position instead, but setting him up to be able to get TG from MrBody seemed like the proper play here.

And Phyphor didn't have anything worth voting for.

I'm gonna take the pretty safe guess that L1z1x will be taking the option of placing an Infantry on Resculon and taking control. I'll post the next status update tonight to start Round 6.

It probably would have been better to dump on Zohbat though. The N'orr are just doodling away by themselves over there and racking up points now while everybody else has one or more neighbors they have to worry about more actively.

  • discriderdiscrider Registered User regular
    Maybe.
Depends on what Phyphor's thinking if Metacol's points dry up.
