I finally got to play Betrayal at the House on the Hill or whatever it's called and I LOVE IT. IT'S SO AMAZING! I WAS PLAYING AS A LITTLE GIRL AND I MURDERED A DRAGON WITH A FUCKING SPEAR!

Also, buddy of mine started a star wars campaign! So I'm playing a Mon Calamari noble named Aziz, and it's gonna be the best.

With a name like Aziz, I assume you will be on the "LIGHT!" side of the Force?

I was hoping someone would pick up on that! Nyehehehe :3c

So, are there any good Cyberpunk tabletop RPGs out there? I know Shadowrun is the most prominent, but I just flipped through the handbook for 5th Edition, I think?

And nooooooooooo thanks. Way too convoluted for my tastes, at least to learn then teach to other players.

I feel like cyberpunk is such a ridiculously specific concept that you'll have trouble finding an RPG that is tailored specifically for that type of gameplay or story. The only other type of remotely sci-fi tabletop RPG I can think of is Paranoia, but that's insanely tongue in cheek and not specifically cyberpunk. I've also never played it, but I'm 99% sure I'd love it.

Honestly if you don't want to learn an entirely new rule set, just pick one with which you are familiar and tailor it to a cyberpunk world. It'll take a fair bit of effort, but the alternative is pretty much just Shadowrun.

In Tabletop Simulator news, how do people feel about getting a group together this Friday night for boardgame shenanigans? I'm more than happy to learn new games that people want to share or teaching new things to a willing audience.

Give Technoir a look, it's specifically meant to combine cyberpunk and crime noir and has a simple system focused on narrative and not mechanical crunch.

There is also The Sprawl which is a cyberpunk adaptation of Apocalypse World but it is still in development, there is a beta test pdf out though.

Technoir looks neat, just picked it up for a $10 impulse buy. I appreciate it! I've never used anything with Push Dice before, but it sounds interesting.

Always Never Now is another cyberpunk game that I really enjoy. It's moderately self-contained to its own plot, but there's no reason you couldn't take the characters and mechanisms and draw outside the lines.

Started our Saga Edition Star Wars RP tonight! Went really well. I'm a Mon Calamari noble, my husband is a Kel'Dor scout, and the rest of the party is a Chiss scoundrel (tech specialist), a Wookie soldier, and a human Jedi. Really well rounded party overall. It's gonna be a super fun campaign, it's set during the Jedi Civil War! Old Republic woooo!

As useless as I am in combat, I am one smooth-talkin and super-intelligent fish monster.

So I'm about to be starting a Pathfinder campaign as a player for the first time in... a long time.

It is a level 3 campaign set in Golarion. Jokingly I asked the DM if I could play a half-dragon, expecting the quite obvious response of "Fuck no", because holy shit.

I got a response of "Yes".

So I guess I'm walking into that campaign with a character with 26 STR and 22 CON? And immune to Fire, Sleep, and Paralysis?

And is throwing around 2d6+12 damage with a +11 attack bonus on his greatsword?

    I feel really, really dirty.

EDIT: For reference, he's starting at level 1 because of how Monsters as PCs rules work. But by the time the rest of the party is level 4 he'll be level 3.

SO... after SouthPAX i have a hampering for Cosmic Encounters.

Found the Cosmic Encounters connector on steam, says only the host needs to own it.

If there is enough interest, i would be willing to buy it so that i could play with other people.

I got nothing for you now. Try again later.

I actually bought the connector before we ended up playing it at PAX, just because I'd been thinking about buying the board game for a while and figured the much cheaper connector was a good way to try it first. I'd be happy to host sometime, but my schedule can be kind of shitty. It looks like tomorrow evening is probably free for me, and late morning/early afternoon on Saturday. Weeknights next week I can only play after 9:30pm CST or so. Not sure what next weekend looks like yet.

I am definitely up for it, with two caveats:

    1) I do not know how to play

    2) I do not have a lot of free time

Here's the rules for the game:

I'd say a game (in person at least) takes between 1 and 2 hours on average.

You also might want to consider Headspace, where the hook is every PC can use the others' skills (because their brains are all networked or whatever) but doing so risks taking on the emotions that are associated with that skill. Like Jimmy can use Carl's hacking skill to breach the corporate network but oh no now he's SUPER PISSED because Carl is SO ANGRY that he couldn't beat the trace that led the cyber-goons to your team's doorstep. It's a really neat idea.

I am interested in Gloomhaven, but not enough to drop hundreds of dollars on it. It’s on TTS though! Anybody interested in getting a group together for it?
