We are returning to PAX South 2018 and are looking forward to hosting an opening night party for everyone to enjoy!
Our events have been so successful over the past few years that we had to expand to a larger venue. You might remember our parties at On the Rocks Pub located directly underneath the McDonalds. This year we are happy to be moving to a 25k+ square foot venue and have the entire 2nd floor reserved for our event! NO VIP - NO Reservations - NO Expectations! Just come as you are and have a blast partying your Friday night away with us at Houston Gaymers PAX Party!!!

If you ever come to Houston out to any of our meetups, you will see that our events include people from all walks of life. - Reserved side-entrance for party (Make sure you go to the correct door for special wristband and lower cover)
- $5 Club Cover (Can be waived - see PARTY DETAILS)
- Special wristband will grant access to 2nd floor ballroom, but feel free to experience all that Bonham Exchange has to offer throughout the club
- 25k square foot club including: a game room, a lounge bar, below-street dance floor, huge patio, and 2nd floor ballroom reserved for party

We are delighted to announce that Headbanger Studios will be returning to the party this year with their awesome title - Double Kick Heroes
Bored with bland fake violin soundtracks ? Double Kick Heroes is a mashup of a shoot'em up with a frenetic rhythm game backed by an awesome METAL tune! It was inspired by the worlds of Q.Tarantino, S. King and R.Rodriguez. Lead your band on an explosive roadtrip through the wasteland, blast zombies with your Gundillac and crush them with the power of METAL. The game will pack in 30 songs, half a dozen chapters of adventures and a community level editor that will allow any music to be played to the rhythm of exploding zombie skulls.

A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher is an arcade-like score chasing shooter centered on two themes: risk and focus. You are the mysterious force guiding the HR-D and DF-R simultaneously on the volatile planet of Zastrus. Their mission is to reach the highest destruction score possible by upgrading weapons and recovering resources. You must decide when it's best to extract them with the score and resources at hand. The HR-D is responsible for defending the entrance to Zastrus' core where the DF-R is recovering a valuable material known as CIPHER.
We are delighted to announce that Motion Twin will be joining the party this year with their awesome title - Dead Cells!
Dead Cells is a rogue-lite, Castlevania-inspired action-platformer, allowing you to explore a sprawling, ever-changing castle… assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers. To beat the game, you’ll have to master 2D "souls-lite combat" with the ever-present threat of permadeath looming. No checkpoints. Kill, die, learn, repeat.
OH hyped for this one picked it up recently and am really liking it.
Is a PAX badge required to be able to pay the $5 cover?
We threw around the idea of requiring a PAX badge to get into the 2nd floor, but ultimately we decided to remove all the red tape to get into the party. There were several reasons behind this: first and foremost the risk of losing a badge at the party was a concern. But there are also people coming into town Friday night that may not be picking up their badges until Saturday morning - and we did not want them to be excluded. We also wanted to invite local video game groups who may not be attending the convention. So this event is truely welcome to all and there is no "VIP" attached to it. So no PAX Badge required - all your friends can come
If there is no reservation to get in- it's just first come, first served?
That's right! That is the fairest way to do it. In the past, some PAX parties have been criticized for having a VIP only section. We wanted to break down that barrier and create an environment where nobody feels excluded. Also remember, Chappy is paying for the $5 cover of the first 200 people who show the app at the door - so it is better to get there early!
Should we expect a possibility that we may not be able to get in later in the evening?
The Bonham Exchange is 20,000+ sq ft and can legally support over 1000 guests before it reaches capacity, so the line should be quick and everyone should be really surprised and excited with how much room there is to spread out. It is one of the largest venues close to the Riverwalk. In previous year's our party capacity was around 300 in the venue at any one time, but this year we have quadrupled that number. I would say that you would still be able to get in later in the night because there will always be people coming and going as the night continues on. If we reach capacity at the Bonham, then I'd be floored. I don't know where else we could go that would support a party so big with having so many people in a building at one time!

I just got off the phone with the venue manager and his advice is to store all items from the convention before coming out to the party. We just do not know how many people to expect and allowing everyone to store their bags and organize them all for retrieval would be hard to manage. If you go out to any venue in the RiverWalk area, I would suggest storing your items beforehand anyway. It's always better to travel light. There will be a coat check however (temperatures in the 30-40's that night), so you can wear a heavy coat to the party and then take it off once you arrive.
