I don't like the 2DS much at all. I appreciate what it is, and the niche it filled in the market, but I would never voluntarily use one.

It's the closest approximation to the mad ramblings of the blind-idiot god, Azathoth, that we can find.

The 2DS XL is both super portable and relatively comfortable

More importantly, the screen is an acceptable size, something I can't say of any Game Boys, Advances, or non-XL DS models

Also it looks like a Poke Ball which should raise it significantly on both axes

The screen in the 3DS-XL is way too big for its resolution. Games look ugly and washed out on it. Pixel density is way more important than screen size.

I agree but I'll take "uglier image that I can see well" over "slightly prettier one that I pretty much can't"

the standard 3ds is way too damn small and that's one of the main reasons I never use mine

I'll have to redraw the chart to accommodate the new lower-bound for portability

the SNES classic is down to a hundred bucks from third party sellers on Amazon, so it may be a good time to buy one there if you've been unable to find one in the wild

Yeah I don't know how a Switch XL would even work, I feel like the screen size of the current switch is perfectly fine for handheld gaming. It seems like anything bigger would be kind of inconvenient.

The Switch XL is just going to be the WiiU with joycons and the dock station and one of the Directs will reveal this followed by 10 minutes of Reggie staring at you while slowly shaking his head

The Switch screen is already exactly the same size as the WiiU screen!

I would rank the 3DS much higher in comfort if games would all let me play with just the D-Pad

Something about the position of the circle pad destroys my left hand

My problem with the OG 3DS is that the bottom corners can dig into your palms. The New 3DS XL is much better in that regard. Never held any other version.

The DS XL had some problems, but boy I love mine.

Also like, what other portable system came in champaign or rose as colors?

In hindsight, I really wish the PSPGo hadn't been such a trainwreck because it sure was a cool design.

The GB Micro should be way below the actual Comfort part of the graph, that thing was way too tiny.

I didn't find it significantly less comfortable than the OG Game Boy

I actually had a battery pack for my Game Boy. It was a separate unit, nearly as big as the Game Boy itself, but I could play plugged into the wall.

I also had a giant ziploc bag full of AAs that were too low voltage to power wireless mics reliably but could still get a few days of playtime on the Game Boy out of.

They handed out AA's like candy
All you had to do is ask to quartermaster for some AA batteries and ta da a generic box of them would appear
I would lug around a spare set as there were several people in my fireteam who would play on the GB/GBA when we had some free time
