Hint that probably would have helped me the most on the puzzle:
The arrows and their direction mean a great deal. And it is indeed not 15.

I have an independent livestream (i.e. neither SpaceX nor NASA sanctioned) that I'm somehow watching through some guy's twitter (Well, not just any guy, it's Chris NasaSpaceFlight) in anticipation of a static fire test that might happen today.
I somehow didn't even realize 15 was a possible solution because I didn't check any simple solutions (since its a puzzle)
15 isn't possible though.
You have to omit the last segment for it to be a solution.
Right, that was me phrasing it poorly.
I saw "it's not 15" and didn't even realize how you could generate the wrong answer of 15, because I didn't even check for simple subtraction as a solution

Man if you're looking for pikachu porn I'm hella judging you.
I'm not, but I will judge the person that will inevitably complain in the comments about how the pikachu is all wrong because female pikachu are supposed to have a heart tail while the pikachu depicts clearly does not have a heart tail.
I was really pissed about this puzzle at first, because I really hate puzzles where the "obvious" solution isn't the "correct" solution even though it works.
Then my sleep-deprived brain realized:
the last set doesn't fit the "subtract the left circle from the right circle to get the result circle" pattern
and worked it out from there
What I really love about this puzzle is that it
uses lots of multiples of 9 for the first part of the pattern, which lets them take advantage of the fact that multiples of 9 are basically magic when it comes to sums and differences in order to throw you off
there are 6 total sets of input -> result, and 2 of them are incomplete because the ? circle is a result for one set and an input for another set
they lure you in with 2 full sets of nine-multiples and then split the last two sets with the ? so the pattern is less obvious
it's really easy to miss the last set because it's at the end and it's close to following the subtraction pattern
maybe i'm extra impressed because my brain is all wonky right now, but i really liked this puzzle!

now someone on the call is talking about millennials and everyone keeps referring to me
I had to listen to a bunch of engineers about my age (aka millennials) bitch about millennials recently and I just wanted to tell them all to shut the fuck up

Well, okay, thpoilerth even though they're not needed now I guess.
You can view a circle as meaning "sum all the inputs to get the output (the number inside)" and an arrow as meaning "take each digit of the input number and make each one an output," roughly speaking.

The puzzle a bit on the cheezy side yes but at least its not one of those stupid 4+5 x 2 argument puzzles on facebook or one of those stupid pattern puzzles where they assign value to an icon but have like fries equal 5 but in one of the icons take out 2 out of 5 fries.

u idiot we showed you numbers and you thought they were numbers?
Because "math puzzle" these days routinely centers around removing operands and thinking it's clever.

Yeah but 1 + 3 + 2 + 1 is 7 AREN'T WE FUCKING CLEVER
Yeah its annoying how many puzzles do that sort of "produce a number by treating numbers as not-quite-numbers and do math to them" thing
15 isn't possible though.
You have to omit the last segment for it to be a solution.
This would be video content with high monetization opportunities

It's 12.
Oh, sorry, it's 1 2.

so its 15
