Tim Soret started off at a high point and everything out of his mouth since then has not been great

Not to disparage the article itself, that is a different argument or conversation to be had. Notably that he instantly picks out the relevant passage to defend his own beliefs and to put forth the argument that he is persecuted for them.

Man could Cage's defense of himself be any dumber?
Cage said the allegations were "ridiculous, absurd and grotesque".

"You want to talk about homophobia?" he said. "I work with Ellen Page, who fights for LGBT rights. You want to talk about racism? I work with Jesse Williams, who fights for civil rights in the USA... Judge me by my work."

    A) That's not your work. That's Page and Williams' work.

    B) Sure, Ellen Page, the lady who almost sued you for including a nude model of her in the game who you refused to mediate with? That's your defense, that you worked with someone who would definitely refuse to work with you again?

Ellen Page was not out when she worked with David Cage, and Jesse Williams had not yet become a big known civil rights activist person when he worked with David Cage.

It's almost a step away from David Cage suggesting that because they worked with David Cage they became better people, and that's honestly a thing I would buy David Cage saying.

Reminder that immediately afterward people realized that he had said a lot of fucked up things well before that, and people were only excited because up until that point they hadn't had a reason to pay attention to Tim Soret

So his high point, if you will, was largely just being inconsequential enough that nobody was listening to the awful things he was saying

I guess. Maybe it was a personal high point since it went from "this game looks pretty cool!" to "I wonder who's making it?" to "ohhhh..."

i love how stupid the pitch for the game is
Humans first knew the era of survival. Then they knew the era of work. Now they live in the era of leisure. Machines have surpassed human labour not only in strength, but in precision, intellect, and creativity. The fight for survival doesn’t mean food and water, but a purpose for living. People now define themselves by what they consume, not what they create.

for starters, let's ignore the scientifically-proven-to-be-false idea that having comfort will mean humanity stops creating - let's back up to "machines are more creative and smarter than humans"

how the fuck is the story not about mankind supplanting itself with a newborn race then?? how the fuck is the story about a guy who's sad he can't interact with technology good?!?!?!

I really want a game about robots doing stuff with all their spare time after they have figured out to do all the basic stuff for humans without much work needed by the robots themselves.

Preferably with an in-game internet for robots called the botnet.

It is actually a supreme cruelty and injustice to the rich to allow them to keep their wealth because that sort of security and opportunity for indolence will only lock away their potential.

You jest, but I believe the original rate was like 1 key ($2.50) could be traded for 1 random hat drop, because the hat drops were so rare.
Nowadays, you can probably buy whatever hats you want for a key*.

I mean, I grew up on a farm forty miles from the town Ken Burns used as The Heart of the Dustbowl, and I can say that without the CRP program your choices as a farmer in the area are dustbowl or starve. Dryland wheat has an amazing rate of return for the individual farmer, it's only when everyone takes advantage of that amazing deal that you get an international environmental disaster. If the government doesn't pay you not to do it, I'm not sure what are options are.

I don't remember having to pay to open crates in ME3, you could buy them with real money, yes, but you didn't have to pay to open the progression ones from what I recall. I has been a long time though so maybe there was a "premium" crate added a while after release.
You're probably right, the whole reason I checked wikipedia is because it feels like crates have been here forever and they all blur together for me.

ME3 is definitely why every EA title since has been riddled with crates or card packs though. Those things made an absolute tonne of money for the company.

That's not how you spell FIFA Ultimate Team.
