Saint Justice, Sean, and I were playing two really toxic games last night. The first one we were on a Blackhearts Bay with an Abathur that went full lane build with Evolved Monstrosity and got maybe a total of two lucky Junkrat kills. The other player was a Dehaka that just always had to fight people. Fight fight fight. I see red, I must engage. Anyway, we were down all game. We managed to get coins for a cash in. After we cashed, we got chased out of the coin area. On the way out SJ, Sean, and Dehaka all died. They were chasing me and I managed to get away with 3% life. I then decide to drop a guillotine into the fog area and when I did. I managed to get a double kill on the two sole survivors, instant regen to 100%, and got all 50+ coins they had. Turned in again and the enemy base was down to core only vs our x1 keep at 20%. Enemy team respawned and camped that turn in area. We respawn and decide to go to boss. On the way there, the enemy team saw us up there and intercepted us. We skirmished, and then the light bulb went off. They were going to boss to get the last keep and force a core fight. We ran south immediately, did the turn in, and shot the core down. Glorious
Our other final match up of the night was on Cursed Hollow. We were down all game and were being decimated. We managed to sneak x2 objective grabs in vs the enemies x6. Right when we thought the game was going to be over the enemy engaged us in a narrow hallway battle near that right side knight camp. KTZ and SJ decimated that team, hard. We all survived and immediately went to the next objective. The ZJ and Morales tried to bait us to fight them under the tower and SJ kept provoking them to stay there. We grabbed the curse, and immediately SJ charges the Morales with the rest of the team behind him. We kill Morales, get ZJ on chase, and the next guy that respawns. Their deaths are completely staggered and we manage to kill top keep, winions kill bottom, and our silly goose KTZ wastes his time killing middle keep. Butcher with 300 meat slams core down while their Artanis who went Laser instead of AoE Blind tries to bait us into attacking him (Which ironically we took a second off core to eat his face at 5%). I love being on the winning side of games like that where you team is in single digit kills vs their double digit kills, one bad engage, and it costs them the match.

I think this game hates me now.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Had a number of bad games over the weekend like it seems others have, but man, last game of the night, team flowed like butter and still keep me I this game.
I get chromie on towers and team is doing well most the match, start with taking top two alters since they sent too many people down to the mid alter.
The highlight was after an alter phase were go and take our sappers, right as we finish I reveal the other team all on their sappers, still finishing it up.
No pings, no shouting, I just reveal them for everyone and whole team rotates over instantly and blows them all up, end up getting the camp as well, it clears bot and that sealed it for the rest of the match
Ewww, that's not good. Looks like about 4 heroes could start with a bit of an advantage with that.

HOTS hasn't been fun these last two days. It's almost like it detects when you win too many games. So the response is you get players on the other team that are superior to you in skill and inferior comps until its ready to give you normal games again. This is not fun.

It doesn't do that. At all. If you win a bunch of games it, in aggregate, attempts to give you better opponents. If you lose those games then that's an indication that maybe you are at the correct MMR.
There are issues with the matchmaker allowing MMR bands within games that are too large, but that is more of a systemic issue that doesn't impact individual players consistently or significantly unless you happen to get massively bad luck or are on the far end of the skill curve (i.e., very bad or very good).
If you're talking about QM, UD, or TL then it almost doesn't matter what the matchmaker tries to do because there are no limitations on group queues.

It actually does exactly what Waffen said (the superior in skill part, at least) but that's okay because that's literally what MMR is.
And streaks like that are certainly nothing new. There are people in this thread who could recount stories of horrible 10+ game losing streaks with a continual stream of potato teammates when playing this game 3 or more years ago.
That's not to say that it doesn't still supremely suck being in that kind of a streak or that you're not justified being frustrated with it. It's just going to happen sometimes. If, in the long run, you're around 50% win rate, then the MMR is more or less doing its job. Ideally fewer games would be depressing stomps, but that's an incredibly difficult problem to solve in any MOBA, let alone one that doesn't have the massive pool of players to match that DotA/LoL have.

I totally get venting, we all do it, but given the current state of my government and our lack of meaningful public discourse on difficult topics in favor of barely-coherent vigilante Tweets and hashtag virtue signalling, I grow less inclined by the day to let this kind of stuff just float by without pointing it out, especially on these forums.

Yeah, but usually when the game does that, it gives you teammates at your OLD MMR, and the other team is entirely at your "new" MMR.
That happens sometimes, regardless of how many games you've won or lost recently. The game is not intentionally putting anyone into an unbalanced match.
Humongoid is still a ridiculously good talent. I think its winrate is actually equivalent with Vile. If I can't reliably obtain Vile within a few waves after hitting 20, Humongoid it is. Cursed Hollow is notoriously hard to build stacks on given the map size, but also Fwogs doesn't have as good/efficient waveclear as Zombos.
Also haha yeah that was my friend on Illidan, she says "gg game" at the end of every game :P

Was playing some Medivh tonight. 2-2 with em. I know he's not a community favorite, but I love him. Especially when you face a Pyroblast Kael or a Triple Tap Nova. Always good to invalidate a player's ultimate or major burst. Highlight protect of the night though was a guy took 4k damage vs a dive comp, I shielded him, he healed 2k of it, and proceeded to smash their faces in on the chase after they ran in terror.

Basically ignoring everything my team ever does (or doesn't do) and just go for the high score like this is an 80's arcade game.
Then the matchmaker decides I shouldn't ever be allowed to have fun and I get matched up against kaelthas + kelthuzad on boe. Thanks hots, I'll just go play the Pokemon tcg instead.

Edit: Yikes! Don't watch the VODs. Went 1-2 with some sad, sad losses. You can ping a lava wave but can't move your teammates out of it.

Yeah, he doesn't get unstoppable during it. You can also stun him during the windup and I think it goes on full cooldown.
