I've never seen an episode of the show before, although I'm certain I've caught bits and pieces as a kid. I was 5 when it premiered and I know that my parents watched it.

After Clooney leaves the show starts transitioning from a good medical show to a batshit crazy medical show.
I just finished streaming season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead and god, you guys, I love this stupid show. I love Ash, I love his weirdly hot sidekick, I love his other more conventionally hot sidekick, I love Lucy Lawless's dumb pink hair, I love that they all carry giant guns and random shit like fire hoses and broken bottles are more effective weapons.

ER is 100% accurate and true-to-life. I can confirm.

As a non-medical person the pilot didn't seem very over the top, which is good because I tend to lose interest in medical dramas when they go off the rails.
Whether or not they're accurate is not a huge issue as long as the tone mostly feels right.
I haven't seen it since the original run, but I seem to remember my parent's doctor friends thought the actual medical aspects weren't too bad.
edit: until it went completely loony, of course.

Stop bragging, George.

Let us know when you get to Dr. Greene's no good, very bad day towards the end of season 1.
My mum watched an episode of ER with a pregnancy and she correctly diagnosed it and every complication that could happen did and it stressed her out so much she never watched the show again.
Dark is very good. It's disappointing people compared it to Stranger Things just because of the similar backdrop when they're about as different as two shows can be.

I watched the first episode but was put off by the bad dubbing.
But now I've found out Netflix supports changing the audio back to the original German and adding English subtitles, so maybe I'll give it another shot.

Oh yeah the English dub is really bad. They even add a bunch of swearing that's not in the English subtitles for some reason, I guess that's edgy. I was messing around with it, and strangely the non-English dubs sounded better from a performance perspective. Did Netflix cheap out on the dub even though English is their largest audience? Maybe they were just tired of spending money on it, the show looks pretty expensive.
There's some not-very sexy kind of gnarly barbarians
And some very sexy barbarians
notably the flame-haired princess who is a crack shot with a bow and has eyes that smoulder with fiery passion at all times, and a big beefy dude who is all braids and beards and rugged masculinity
Is it fantasy? Like is there actual magic? Search said it was historical drama.
I don't want to spoil anything because the magic feels very earthy and wild, more ecstatic dreams, visions, prophecies, heavy drug taking leading to being a mad bastard that sees things and stuff like that. It's less a set of superpowers and more... well, magic.
But at the same time yeah there's definitely magic

You're not wrong
Like, they made this joke a few times on Tosh.0, to the point of having Joel McHale be on the show.

Ok.
But not like, the rest of the country.

This is pretty fun! Everyone seems to be comparing it to game of thrones but it really doesn't feel Thrones-y at all to me other than it's fantasy
And it actually has a degree of decent humour to it, which probably comes from getting some actors who have a sense of actual comedic timing
