The big thing is that it's another thing that Trump will never shut up about. It's the Streisand effect; the more he whines about it, the more people are gonna want to see it.
I genuinely hope that Trump sues and sends this to court. "President Tries to Ban Book" would be a SALACIOUS headline, and would make sure tons and tons of people who'd otherwise skip this would rush out to grab it before it disappeared off shelves. (Even though there's little chance of that lawsuit working.)
On the other hand, what if he wins?
Then the shit hits the fan.

They've already got the President tried to ban the book headline.
The publisher responded by releasing the thing early. (Which would also ensure the book sold out, but hey, the publisher knows what the fuck they're doing. The editor is kinda crap, though)

It would rewrite literally all case law surrounding the 1st Amendment.
There's an argument to be made that "going high" was never going to work with the "average American", let alone Trump's base.
I'm not sure that this is the answer either, but... it does seem to be having an effect.
The important bit is that it's not the expected Trump opponents that are going low. It's his own ostensible supporters that are tearing him apart.
And in my earlier assessment, I neglected to consider that soft support is a thing. I still don't expected any of the chattering classes to change their chatter, but it'll be interesting to see what happens in the polls going forward.
I look forward to seeing poll questions like "Do you think the president is functionally illiterate?" and "Do you think the president of the United States can effectively govern in less than five hours per day?"
I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.

They're gonna keep their options open. Depending on the edit and the laugh track it'll either be Super Glorious Leader's first approved biopic or else it will be a farce.
This thread is dying a natural death, but they had a skit about Fire and Fury at the Grammys that’s too good not to share, and seems like the perfect way to finish up.

Republicans seem to have a universal attitude that athletes and artists exist solely to entertain them and should be ashamed of their selves if they ever express an independent thought.
Well an independent thought critical of them that is. They love it when it’s the other way around.

I think it's more that Art that agrees with me is completely apolitical, natural, neutral, and obvious. Art that disagrees with me is violently trying to jam a political agenda down my throat.
It's a blind spot most people have. And not everyone is aware of.

Except when these artists are also conservatives. Then they can say anything they want and they’ll get invited to the White House

*Less than 5 hours M-F?
Though I feel unclean after reading "adquired taste" while talking about Bolton's pornstache.

As long as Trump is played by a woman. That’d really pisses him off. He used to mock Sean Spicer cause of Melissa McCarthey’s parody character.

Nah, it was optioned, which generally comes to absolutely nothing. Most books get optioned, most don't become movies.

It also made US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley complain that the Grammys were turning music political.
I finally received my copy and started reading it this weekend.
Musicians making political statements? Well, I never! What a terrible decade the 1850's are to live in!

Edit- I mean.... thin skinned.
And now I know why I had several kool-aid drinkers in my news feed talking about how they wouldn’t be caught dead watching the Grammys last night.
