The image size limit has been raised to 1mb! Anything larger than that should be linked to. This is a HARD limit, please do not abuse it.
Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
This is off topic, and I dont know if Mike or Jerry look at these comments, but that was a hell of a DnD game last night.
Mike and Jerry don't read the forums. Technically Mike has posted here a handful of times, but it's been years now and it looks like those posts are deleted.
<edit: apparently I had his user ID wrong.>
Are you guys trying to mess with us? All those little black dots all over the panels at first made me think my screen was filthy. Hell, they even look almost 3D, like they're actually on the screen and not in the comic! O.o

I'm cool with him putting his work in the comic. If he really painted them he deserves to show them off.
Unless FFG got him to paint the minis they've been using in all the promo shots since the game was announced last year, he didn't. It looks like he just drew over them in whatever software he uses to make them look more cartoony. Either way I doubt Mike or Jerry own that image though it could have an open license since I've seen it all over the place in various blogs and online retailers.
I could also be completely wrong, but I don't think I am.

Huh. I only care because this screws with the idea of a meta joke embedded in the comic. Can you provide a link to one of those promo shots?
The poses are definitely similar. Hard to say if it's an actual altered image in the comic though. I would expect that someone of Mike's talent would easily be able to make likenesses of them freehand.
I can feel this kid's pain not playing with the little toys and at the same time I can relate to his father's protectiveness over the miniatures...I am getting old. *sigh*

Really just do a google image search for 'Star Wars Legion empire' and it comes up quite a bit, the image from the blog post being the very first image to show up in the results. The most telling parts are the exact shape and positioning of the rocks on Vader's base and the fact that Vader's base rim is a very slightly different shade of brown that the stormtrooper's.

I thought it was funny in combination with the "we have to make them ourselves" line.
Someone in another thread pointed out that as Mike hand painted these, if he posts them in the comic at least SOMEONE will see them.
poor mini fig collectors.

Except you don't have to paint Legos after putting the model together.

2nd photo is the same minis rearranged: https://www.waylandgames.co.uk/star-wars-legion/46097-star-wars-legion-core-set

And here's that same image taken by a phone camera from an announcement seminar:

I'd rather he used his own minis simply because I'd like to see them.
