Really? I've been reading the rules all wrong then, I thought you had to pay the cost and invade in the future for Monsters.
The giant invades for free anyway as it's a leader.
Yeah, I knew that part, I just thought because it was a monster, you had to play the upgrade card to "claim" it, and then you'd have to invade on a later turn.
It counts as a leader and when you upgrade a leader you may immediately invade with him.
FFFFFFfffff....I somehow missed the entire last sentence.
When you play a Monster upgrade, take the corresponding
Monster figure, attach your clan’s base to it, and place
it in your reserve. It is now yours for the rest of the game,
counting as one of your figures. You may immediately
Invade with it without spending any extra Rage.
I seriously have no idea how I read the first one, but missed that second one. Other than just...I'm dumb.
My bad! Was boarding a plane and wanted to be sure I got my turn in, I completely forgot. I’ll be sure to do that moving forward. Invade a warrior into Myrkvlor. 4->3. @Lykouragh
Actions summary
Clarification for pieces. Monsters normally have you put on a colored base to determine their owner, but the Tabletop module doesn't appear to have them. So I'm just going to place the monsters, then leave a circular colored token next to them to show who it belongs to.
I'm going to lie down monsters and leaders to make them stand apart. Ships should be obvious. I'm going to leave warriors standing up just so they don't get confused with leaders.
Final tally is 4 to 3. Red wins.
Red gains 3 glory from win, +1 rage stat from pillage
Green units are sent to Valhalla, gains 4 glory for destroyed ship, steals 1 rage point from Red, gains Loki card back.
I'm just going to post a board update. Since no one has played any upgrade cards the only thing new about the mats is everyone's current rage left which everyone is keeping track of and posting anyway.
Board
Lying down hooded figures = leaders. Standing up colored pieces = warriors.
