Jesus I only just saw the upgrade card! -2 points AND your EPTs are cheaper too? All for the cost of the torpedo slot barely anyone used? AND free S-Foils?
Still I want mission packs/campaigns instead of more ships
I agree, the concept behind the Corellean Conflict was great and one of these days they need to replicate Star Trek Attack Wing. Given that both releases in this wave are large boxes, maybe they'll throw in a mission or two.
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.
WOW!.... Wow.
With integrated Astromech the T-65 is amazing.
Since we don't know the cost of the generic (although its at MOST 20): Rookie Pilot, FAA, Renegade Refit, S-foils, Integrated Astromech is 20 points. 6 hit points and decent maneuverability.
Also, being able to target the ship you just jammed with the ISB Slicer to make absolutely sure a jamming token sticks to them is really nice for dealing with things like Poe.
I love how ridiculously maneuverable it is too, with that potential bank>sloop and such.
Oh yeah, and we still have two upgrade cards we can't tell a damn thing about in that fan, which ought to be interesting... one of them's unique too. Multi-something camo, small ship only...
Hmm. Feroph with slicer, Kalus, title, LWF, and something annoying for EPT ought to be cute.
Also something I saw pointed out elsewhere? TIE MkII turns the title banks green as written. This means you can double proc Systems Officer, at the cost of not having LWF. Technically that applies to the Striker as well, there's just nothing that cares that I can think of (the one crit that makes you stress on white, I guess? But since you can't use the titles WHILE stressed, no double-destress shenanigans).
Pilot skill is gone, replaced with Initiative. Initiative now goes 1-6. No Veteran's Instincts.
Combat phase is now called Engagement phase.
The official page is up now. Gives a good example of how a pilot array will look. Note the cards are now all Standard American sized, and upgrades are sideways.
Holy shit, the Millenium Falcon doesn't have a front arc?!
Jeez, the amount of work the conversion kits must've taken, even dropping out the Force Awakens era stuff and the Epic ships...
Conversion kits seem... underwhelming? Fiddly? At least with the supported ship counts. Like, the rebellion pack supports 2 Ghosts but at the same time only 2 X-Wings (unless I missed something). Will have to look into it more later.

Saw's Partisan's has 2.0 dials for xwings as well I think.
No, I'm sorry, but no. Unless this completely changes the game for the better, this is ridiculous.
Maybe I'd buy an app, but paying that much for the cards and dials and base templates, not to mention you may need multiple kits depending on how many they include of each ship? No.
I haven't played X-Wing in a long time, but 2.0 is a nice sounding box. Most interesting to me is the app option and a lack of points/upgrades on the cards. Making the cards partially digital allows for great balance control that wasn't possible without massive FAQ lists.
Not sure if I'll pick it up, or the corresponding conversion kits, but neat all around. Definitely want to hear more. Especially if the conversion kits will include cards that were exclusive to certain sets. Like, I always wanted to fly Porkins, but there was no way in hell I was buying the big ship the card was packed in.

I would have expected a new edition of x-wing to just deprecate all the old ships so fifty bucks to keep using ~1/3 of my collection doesn't seem unreasonable
another victory for low expectations!

How many ships does each Conversion Kit convert?
The number of ships supported (by maneuver dials included) in each Conversion Kit are:
2 – Alpha-class Star Wing
3 – Inquisitor’s TIE
2 – Lambda-class Shuttle
2 – TIE Advanced
3 – TIE Aggressor
3 – TIE Bomber
2 – TIE Defender
4 – TIE Fighter
3 – TIE Interceptor
2 – TIE Phantom
2 – TIE Punisher
3 – TIE Striker
3 – VT-49 Decimator

It sure looks like it changes the game for the better. A ton of quality of life upgrades and general upgrades.
Definitely a lot of cardboard in those boxes, so they definitely tried to make it so you didn't need to buy multiple of the same faction.
I'm interested in the app, especially if it's nicer and easier than the clunky fan made ones. I'd rather not have to worry about hundreds of cards if they're just going to move parts of the cards to the app anyway.

obligatory app usage is potentially fine as long as the app is actually good
I've never used any of FFG's apps though, except for TOME, which was total garbage (though it was in beta, so maybe it's fine now)

This is everything I ever wanted.
Now to buy multiples and repaint all the X-Wing models into red squadron for those sweet S-Foils.
AAAAAAAAAAAA

Or is the box the same as the first just different rules?
Steam: betsuni7
Box is very different, though it comes with the same ships.
From the developer panel:
1- Lancer style turrets is going to be the norm going forward.
2- Each base will have the Bullseye arc
3- redos to locks, a few other mechanics.
Push the Limit is gone, now a core mechanic. Ships have linked mechanics.
Introducing red actions, linked. Like, the Y-wing will have a red action Barrel Roll.
Teaser video:

Edit: Okay, force charges. Force sensitive people will have 1-3 charges.
Charges can be spent like a mini focus, but you also have force power upgrades, which are powered by the points.
For crew, they can provide 1 charge and enhance the pilot in ways.
Edit2: Wave 2 will feature Resistance and First Order. They won't go into what exactly wave 2 will feature.
There will be "quick pilots" in the new expansions, using that expansion and the core, to get playing quickly.
Game is now 200 points for more granularity - same size.
Possibility of quick build drafts.

If you pre-order through FFG or local stores, you get a standard american sized damage deck with custom artwork on it:
Edit:
They've talked of using the app to customize play formats. I could easily see it being a vehicle for delivering missions.
