I'm splitting it with someone in my group. Jethro can be Arslan until he gets a model, and then he can be a Druze sniper. Beba will be my Anaconda pilot and visual distraction for my opponent. Nakadai will be a Saito proxy.
I ordered my JSA box + NA2 book bundle from Toy Soldier Imports, for the aussie crowd

TSI are good people. I tend to order from The Combat Company, but that's because they're 5 minutes from where I work, so I just go and pick my stuff up. I'm moving work locations soon, making it more irritating going to pick stuff up, and I'll probably move over to TSI for my Infinity orders. They're cheaper these days anwyway.
Yeah I really like TSI but their stock isn't always great so sometimes ordering from TCC is easier. I've heard rough things about TCC though so I am much happier to use TSI whenever possible.

Just realised I can't use my nice Luxumbra O-Yoroi pilot, since I was going ISS/Chinese Yu Jing.
Guess it could make a nice HVT?

My group hasn't played Infinity since about... Early last year. Holy shit it's been a year.
So this weekend we're gathering for some gaming and I've put Infinity back on the agenda. But since we haven't played in so long, people are leery of learning it again, so I also got them to give Recon+ a go. Seems like a good way to get back into it. Smaller tables, simpler missions, 150pt games with some restrictions on the ridiculous stuff.
My brother has multiple sets of Red Veil and Icestorm terrain and mats, so we're in good shape there. I'm going to bring 8 civvies and 3 antennas, so we can have one table as Annihilation, one as Exfiltrate and one as Seize the Antennas.
Sounds like a great day! Smaller games can be a lot of fun

We only ended up playing one game. After everyone started drinking gaming just stopped. Unfortunate but common in our group.
That one game was fun though. We haven't forgotten as much as we thought. We played Annihilation from Recon+. I ran Leila, Hacker Barid, Govad HMG, and a 3 model Muyib link with a Doctor, Spitfire and my Lieutenant. My opponent ran Thrasymedes, a Myrmidon Officer, Atalanta and a 3 model Thorakitai link.
He locked the centre down well with Atalanta and the left flank with Thrasymedes in Suppressive Fire. Unfortunately for him he placed his HVT on the right flank, so I popped a Repeater over a wall and got HVT Designate. Leila Cybermasked to try to get the drop on the Thorakitai link but got discovered by them and shot by Atalanta (holy shit she's nasty).
His Thorakitai link ran around that flank to kill my Barid, who managed to pass 4 Dodge rolls in a row running from an angry Greek with a Chain Rifle. My next turn I Data Scanned him to complete my second Classified. Then my Barid hopped out, ate a Chain Rifle but also dropped his Thorakitai Paramedic, breaking the link. The Thorakitai tried to flank my Muyibs guarding my HVT but ran out of orders, so my Muyibs popped around the corner and the Spitfire gunned one more down.
Game ended, we basically killed about the same amount of stuff each but he didn't get any Classifieds and I got both.
Yeah, the main thing is just how aggravating RiotGRRLS would be:
MSV1, B5 Spitfire, 2 B2 Blitzen for ranged response in the reactive turn, 2 wounds, hyper dynamics. They have a lot of answers in a very cheap, durable package.
I honestly don't even care about the moderator link past 'I guess you can move behind the RiotGRRLS if I've got an order spare'
Beastsofwar did an Operation Icestorm week where they played the first and 5th missions from the Icestorm as well as a 300 point game. If memory serves me right, this was not long after N3 (the current rules) came out.
They also did a week on USariadna, a week on Red Veil and another week on the beyond Icestorm and Red Veil.
All done with Carlos (one of the creators of Infinity) and Killian who does a good job of explaining what is going on.
All on YouTube (I would link but I’m on my phone) if you care to find it.

The podcast 'Personal Flashpaper' is styled as 'by people learning how to play Infinity for people learning how to play Infinity,' and in general, I've found to be very enjoyable.

Awesome, I'll check those out.
Do I need to wash the models off before putting them together?
Edit: Watched some tutorials for Infinity and it reminds me of how Valkyria Chronicles plays. I'm really looking forward to getting my stuff together and playing.

The older models seem to have been designed purely down to looks and with little thought on how mere mortals can put stuff together.
The newer stuff is generally much easier although you get the odd one which slips through the net that required you sacrifice a layer of skin to the super glue gods.
I’ve had some luck in using a really tiny amount of green stuff to help glue something if it has a tiny contact point.

I need to figure out what sorcery was used to paint some of this stuff. Finished putting together my Chimera and her Pupniks and the way the Chimera was painted on the box is great but I can't really see any facial features on the actual model.

So this is the list I'm running that was given to me by someone in the previous thread cause I had said I wanted to use tags and mechs but wasn't sure how to build a list. Not 100% sure what my game plan is but I'm trying to get my friend to puthis stuff together so we can go to the Infinity league this Sunday and learn how to play.
The Chimera and pupniks might be a bit tricky if you are using them in your first game? They also like to hoover up orders which you might be wanting to spen elsewhere.
I’m a fan of Zeros myself when it comes to Specialists.

Tbh, that's not a bad list, and people may struggle to deal with two TAGs. I see you have a Daktari? I'd personally put the Dak and the Moderator from group 2 in group 1, drop the Chimera, and bump the mod down to a regular trooper as you don't need another hacker after the two Interventors.
Now you've got a proper 10 regular order group, and then a warband group, plus some points to spare.
I was wondering where all the points had gone and then double checked to note the Iguana.
It's definitely going to be tough to get a good order count with two tags. Also for what it's worth every Infinity group I know (including official tournaments) are crazy proxy friendly. So you can use a Spektr as a zero no problem or a Brigada as the cheaper and much cooler RIOT GRRLS. Provided the vague weapon/silhouette match most people won't fuss.

I just caught up with Personal Flashpaper and after a six month hiatus, they just put up podcast one of 'season' two, which went back right to the very basics, including wash your models to get the mold release off.
So I've wanted to get into this game forever, and every time I get to the faction selection portion and just get overwhelmed and kind of wander off.
Apparently there is a scene for this game in my area and now I've got the itch real bad.
I see the Operation Coldfront Box and it looks interesting. The upcoming Pan-O and YJ stuff seems neat.
I guess I just have a really hard time finding that right mix of fluff, mechanics and aesthetics that you need to really be into a faction.
Aesthetics wise any cheesecake model I basically don't want to run in my army, full stop, which makes some armies tricky. Anything that gets too anime tends to put me off a bit as well. Beyond that anything is fair game, though I tend to like the human factions more than the alien ones from a look perspective.
Mechanics. Camo seems cool, combined arms seems cool, heavy infantry are always dope. I'm a bit all over the place on this front I guess, which makes it hard. I'd rather not run a swarm equivalent. Overall a bigger fan of infantry than vehicles.
Fluff. Hm, I guess I don't have super strong preferences here but more like red flags that I want to avoid. I was trying to come up with something but nothing is jumping to mind.
JSA have camo, combined arms and probably some of the best HI in the game. It's not swarm, either!
they are a bit anime, though, but they also have very few cheesecake models that are also good, now, which is great
plus they just got a new big box earlier this year which is super rad

Haqqislam is primarily infantry. Their Light Infantry selection is stellar, but they get some awesome big stompy heavy infantry to scatter around your forces. Not too many, but they're impressive looking models. Very little cheesecake I can think of except maybe the Odalisques, but they're totally avoidable. They have some fantastic if limited camo options. You won't be running a lot of it, but what you can run is very good.
If you want to go for a 'badass light infantry' look with camo, Hassassins pull it off really well. Even their heavy infantry look more like light infantry.
If you don't want a swarm force then something like Yu Jing would work for you, they have lots of heavy infantry, are quite elite, and do combined arms well, plus lack of cheesecake. They are also going to be getting a big new power armour only Sectoral very soon, concept art looks amazing... I think they sound like what you're after myself...
in JSA news I've put together my entire force now, and basecoated them all. Did a couple test paint jobs to see how the colour scheme goes, and I think with a few tweaks it'll be real good
kinda want to get myself an airbrush but good ones are kinda expensive here so I can't really justify it
I did get some awesome base toppers though, which I'm really looking forward to putting together
