In hindsight, I would have been better off just Scoring on my turn. You're my rival for those tech bases, and I we would have scored with you not having an event to play. Plus the whole "not having to pay a victory point" thing.
I was looking at my first tech and thinking it was too strong to ever pass up the chance to use AP during my turn.

So it seems everyone figured out the trick to scoring: rather than scoring where you then shifting your influence to follow where it's going, you score the areas you aren't early on so the system you're strong in is scored last for the most points.
@Phyphor used his event last score, and has nothing to play now. @MrBody , who's next, instead has still a card and the rocinante. Also remember that everyone has an extra fleet in their home base.
