You should be able to get multiple Tongues off with feeding frenzy every fight. Remember that when you grab someone, you can AA them while they're incapacitated. Three attacks during a drag shaves off 6 seconds. If you're attacking constantly, you can drag over and over and over. It's also very powerful in lane; feeding frenzy is what allows you to man-fight your offlane opponent.
I personally feel like I have no kill pressure without isolation. It can be tricky to land but, ideally, you're landing it off of your main tank's stun instead of throwing it out raw. That makes a big difference.

I'm very much a proponent of Frenzy and Iso (and the attack damage talent that turns Dehaka into a proper melee assassin), but I still don't really like Enhanced Agility except on specific maps like Spider Queen, Dragon Shire, or Blackheart's where there's vents everywhere. Either of the other level ones help him stay in fights longer which usually feels like his weak spot; he's got a bunch of health bars but with little mitigation they can get chewed through very quickly.
No, in all seriousness, though; I feel very strong on Dehaka now. He has very, very quickly changed into a hero that I feel very confident on. He fits into almost every team comp, because you almost always want extra frontline and global presence. I can get away with so much now that I know what I'm doing. He's just so goddamned strong in the right hands. All that really changed for me was that I swapped away from a bunch of under-performing talents; I had always thought that Dehaka was so strong because he had three health bars, but I never really felt like he had much of an impact outside of being a giant wad of HP in teamfights. But now that I'm going Enhanced Agility, and especially now that I'm taking Feeding Frenzy, and ESPECIALLY now that I'm taking Isolation over Adaptation, he just feels so goddamned threatening. And being able to bounce in and out of shadow for huge movement speed bonuses is just fantastic.
Dehaka is love and Dehaka is life.
Until I started taking Enhanced Agility unconditionally, Dehaka felt terrible to me.
I still take Symbiosis at 7 and Adaptation at 10 almost every game, though. I see the appeal of Feeding Frenzy, but I feel like even with that, there's only time for one good tongue per engage. Maybe that's because I tend to play Dehaka in QM, where he ends up being the only tank and often the only front-line, so he can't stay in to auto attack at all. And Isolation is too hard to land with the hyper-mobile bullshit everywhere. Of course, the last time I played much Dehaka was right after Maiev's release, so maybe that has something to do with that opinion. With a second tank to hold people down, Feeding Frenzy and Isolation look much more appealing.
Feeding Frenzy is life. Not only for engages, but you lock up the solo lane so hard against a bunch more heroes
i don't think i hate any more player more than than people who just snap abathur.
we can't run double tank now and they're running a mega dive comp so we just get dove and killed for free every time because you wanted to play the dumb hero that doesn't have a body.

Oh my fucking GOD YES. So I had a placement match go the exact same way. The guy is hovering Abathur and I ask if we can please do something else because it forces us to play and build entirely different.
I was instructed I was currently a platinum ass scrub and that abathur doesn't change how the game is played at all.
We got shit stomped into the ground, along with a thrall that wouldn't solo or camp. Until it was pointed out to please do siege when open and then his toxic shitty self says "Fine" and walks out of the team fight. Like legit just walks out and laughs at us as we're now 3v5 at defending curse since we have abathur and no thrall around.
Great game. I'll be plat forever IF I even place that high this time because now I'm 1-3. And the next game has instant toxic Sonya from the very start who mocks me and Rehgar for wanting double front line, 2 assasins, and a support.
Just ... ugh. I need to quit HL forever and just stick to TL. I can't take people anymore. My patience is NULL.

I posted in this thread when I did it forever ago and I'm still proud. I took isolation one time against a Zul'jin and he got his ult off exactly one time while I was around and that was the final fight before we ended.
He was so absolutely terrified of me that the one time he was able to cast it was while he was hovering over half health so I just walked up to him and slapped the shit out of him until it wore off. Just completely in his head, preventing every ult cast prior to that from ever happening.
It's a really powerful ult and is lights out in pick scenarios. Adaptation just has a lot more freedom in its use so it's the safer choice. But it's not as cool as Skyrim bucketheading someone.

Yeah that game is pretty ridiculous. I have to admit that I don't get those kinds of games regularly, and even the ones that I do tend to be QM (where my expectations are significantly lowered). It has probably been weeks since I've gotten a 10+ death player on either team. If that's the kind of thing you run into frequently then that sucks.

I think this game has become incredibly draft dependent, and while the number of heroes may not warrant a fourth ban, the importance of the draft and the overspecialization of heroes may force the issue.
Braxis is a great example of this. If you don't ban Yrel then you forfeit the solo lane. If you don't ban Chromie then you forfeit the 4-person lane. If you don't ban Genji then you screw your solo laner and not only give up the boss in a number of normally-winnable scenarios but make the mere act of fighting around the boss a near-certain loss. If you don't ban Fenix then you might as well never win the objective because he solo clears it. It's frustrating when you run into people who don't understand how to ban the map and the other team just snap-picks accordingly, because you spend the entire game losing to what amount to draft errors. You might as well not play the game at that point because it just feels inevitable.

Like as far as Yrel goes ... I don't know yet? She feels oppressive in the solo lane but really, she's not usually threatening a kill. She's just usually nullifying any advantage. Like neither side wins, often enough. And even if you take hotslog at face value, she's not even the most busted hero on there. Ms. Proudmore is sitting at a healthy 27% popularity with 58% WR since the patch. Fenix is at 26% pop with 56% WR. Heck even Thrall's right there with Yrel, albeit with a lower popularity but similar WR. She's definitely on the high side at 54% but I don't know how oppressive she is? They just need to be careful to only nudge her and if anything it's probably with Maraad's at 1? Cut it by a little bit maybe but I don't think she's bad for the game in her current state.
I'm probably wrong and not seeing a bigger picture here but that's where I am with her.

Artanis can man-fight her for a while, but Yrel eventually wears him out in my experience. Having said that, Yrel isn't impossible to beat in the solo lane; Dehaka wears her out after 7 with feeding frenzy, and Malthael starts trading favorably at 4.

Nah I get what he's saying. I've been there. Like you're straight venting on here and frustrated about things that are outside your control. Then you just move on to the next game and it happens again. So you vent some more. It doesn't necessarily mean he's tilted. Maybe at the moment because it is frustrating but he might be able to go into the next game reset.

So anyway, a lot of this is why I play QM. Yes, QM is absolute bananas and half the time you end up with completely nonsense teams because the matchmaker is drunk. But at least in that case, the team comp itself isn't the fault of someone on your team specifically failing to read the draft; it's a robot being a robot. I find there's less tilting and rage in QM because often when someone starts raging in QM, the other players go, "Dude, it's QM, sit down." Yes, there's still some absolute morons in QM (I *despise* players who go WELP THE OTHER COMP THE AI ROLLED IS BETTER BC META SO MIGHT AS WELL LIE DOWN AND DIE, it's like, no, dude, nothing is set in stoene, just play the fucking game) (And my FAVORITE thing is having a teammate go "UGH WE WILL LOSE" and then the rest of us turn it around and win) but idk, people usually get to play exactly who they want to play, whether or not your particular guy is broken on a particular map is random chance instead of deliberate choice, and it just... it feels less Serious Business. Sort of the same way how during the brief time I even bothered with League, I basically only ever played ARAM because I couldn't stand regular.
i like QM cause i can literally play whoever i want without worrying about whether or not it gets banned, picked away from me, or otherwise not fitting into/against a given comp
(or being forced into a role i didn't want to play)
and yeah it's a roll of the dice, a lot, but it also can come down to outskilling the enemy team rather than "welp you lost cause compfucked". which does happen, sure, but not nearly as often.
i just like being able to play who i wanna play without hassle or fuss

Yeah the big thing about QM is that it absolves people from any responsibility of understanding the draft or team compositions. So instead of blaming other people they can just blame "the matchmaker". Even though when you think about it the truth is that the mere act of playing QM means you are partially to blame for the team comp you are given, because that's the price you pay for being able to play literally whatever hero you want whenever you want.
I hate QM because everyone just wants to play whatever they want, and I want to win, so I have to tank or support in every match because, surprise, everyone else wants to be a QM-stomp assassin.
I don’t like qm much anymore because sustain and stealth burst is the meta in a huge number of games.
Oh you wanted to try and learn (any assassin without a self heal)? Have fun hearthing 900 times when you get hit once otherwise Zeratul or Nova or Valeera is going to oneshot you because there isn’t even a warrior to hide behind.
As a mode I think it will be 100x better once they enforce warrior and support. Tbh just a support would help a lot because so many characters need that backup to do their thing.

I think the other reason I actually like QM is that I prefer the tank & support roles to assassin roles. Like, I don't like playing assassins, I kind of suck at them, I only begrudgingly play them for daily quests. So because I'm usually the Tank/Healer, I have better QM matches >>;
Speaking of qm, last night I played a qm game on Alex after dodging that haunted mines, and ended up against ktz. We won, but if you ever really want to know how dumb ktz is, he oneshot our genji through pacify multiple times.

He was so absolutely terrified of me that the one time he was able to cast it was while he was hovering over half health so I just walked up to him and slapped the shit out of him until it wore off. Just completely in his head, preventing every ult cast prior to that from ever happening.
It's a really powerful ult and is lights out in pick scenarios. Adaptation just has a lot more freedom in its use so it's the safer choice. But it's not as cool as Skyrim bucketheading someone.
first pick "i only play zeratul" ok, whatever. they pick arthas, so we really need range. 2nd rotation is johanna alarak, ok this isn't great but whatever. last pick has been showing kt the entire time. i lock alex because infernal shrines. at the VERY LAST SECOND, he switches to stukov.
what the fuck dude. literally insta-game over. why even bother wasting 10 mintues drafting.
and then, after 20 minutes, on the defeat screen, he goes "i only play one character" to troll. thanks friend, you wasted 30 minutes of everyone's fucking time to make one pithy joke. fucking great. fucking people need to be fucking banned from this game.
edit: lol and then next game, first pick haunted mines, i show yrel, guy bans it, calls me a retard, i dodge because i do not want to play with people like that, his friend messages me and calls me even worse names for 5 lines before i report him and mute. this game fucking sucks.

what else am i supposed to do? double the other support's healing while down 3 levels entire game, basically never die, work extremely hard, doesn't matter because genji goes dragonblade into valeera and dies literally every time he presses E in the exact same way every time.

shrug, i'm not tilted and just want to play some fun video games before i go to bed. they're just very bad games no matter how hard i try. 14 deaths in 22 minutes is just.... i mean wow.
finally got a win on haunted mines of all places. cassia into raynor is v unfair and makes jimmy sad. i think she might be the only carry in the game who can properly trade into him.
Braxis is a great example of this. If you don't ban Yrel then you forfeit the solo lane. If you don't ban Chromie then you forfeit the 4-person lane. If you don't ban Genji then you screw your solo laner and not only give up the boss in a number of normally-winnable scenarios but make the mere act of fighting around the boss a near-certain loss. If you don't ban Fenix then you might as well never win the objective because he solo clears it. It's frustrating when you run into people who don't understand how to ban the map and the other team just snap-picks accordingly, because you spend the entire game losing to what amount to draft errors. You might as well not play the game at that point because it just feels inevitable.
Also, I'm sick of Yrel. She needs to get nerfed.
And I hope the yrel nerfs keeps her relevant instead of making her useless, her playstyle is pretty damn fun.
Like as far as Yrel goes ... I don't know yet? She feels oppressive in the solo lane but really, she's not usually threatening a kill. She's just usually nullifying any advantage. Like neither side wins, often enough. And even if you take hotslog at face value, she's not even the most busted hero on there. Ms. Proudmore is sitting at a healthy 27% popularity with 58% WR since the patch. Fenix is at 26% pop with 56% WR. Heck even Thrall's right there with Yrel, albeit with a lower popularity but similar WR. She's definitely on the high side at 54% but I don't know how oppressive she is? They just need to be careful to only nudge her and if anything it's probably with Maraad's at 1? Cut it by a little bit maybe but I don't think she's bad for the game in her current state.
I'm probably wrong and not seeing a bigger picture here but that's where I am with her.

I dunno, just reporting what seemed to happen.
having 2 guys trolling the draft but still playing hard enough to drag game out to 20 minutes with functionally zero damage, and then dodging when someone flames incredibly hard in draft and bans my hero with first pick (and then proves me right to dodge when his friend starts sending me messages afterwards about how terrible i am and i should kill myself). that's entirely assholes ruining the video game.

Nah I get what he's saying. I've been there. Like you're straight venting on here and frustrated about things that are outside your control. Then you just move on to the next game and it happens again. So you vent some more. It doesn't necessarily mean he's tilted. Maybe at the moment because it is frustrating but he might be able to go into the next game reset.

So anyway, a lot of this is why I play QM. Yes, QM is absolute bananas and half the time you end up with completely nonsense teams because the matchmaker is drunk. But at least in that case, the team comp itself isn't the fault of someone on your team specifically failing to read the draft; it's a robot being a robot. I find there's less tilting and rage in QM because often when someone starts raging in QM, the other players go, "Dude, it's QM, sit down." Yes, there's still some absolute morons in QM (I *despise* players who go WELP THE OTHER COMP THE AI ROLLED IS BETTER BC META SO MIGHT AS WELL LIE DOWN AND DIE, it's like, no, dude, nothing is set in stoene, just play the fucking game) (And my FAVORITE thing is having a teammate go "UGH WE WILL LOSE" and then the rest of us turn it around and win) but idk, people usually get to play exactly who they want to play, whether or not your particular guy is broken on a particular map is random chance instead of deliberate choice, and it just... it feels less Serious Business. Sort of the same way how during the brief time I even bothered with League, I basically only ever played ARAM because I couldn't stand regular.

and yeah it's a roll of the dice, a lot, but it also can come down to outskilling the enemy team rather than "welp you lost cause compfucked". which does happen, sure, but not nearly as often.

As a mode I think it will be 100x better once they enforce warrior and support. Tbh just a support would help a lot because so many characters need that backup to do their thing.
People are going to show whatever they want to play, and they're not going to change it to fit in with the team comp or what the enemy team is doing.

I think the other reason I actually like QM is that I prefer the tank & support roles to assassin roles. Like, I don't like playing assassins, I kind of suck at them, I only begrudgingly play them for daily quests. So because I'm usually the Tank/Healer, I have better QM matches >>;
