VLC can save and transcode streaming audio.

Well, I don't know how to put it
It's a webpage with a little quicktime player playing an audio file,

Far as I can tell, it's just a .mov file with the URL:
http://www.tulane.edu/~spanling/Phon/Transcrip/cruzo.mov
Right Click -> Save target as should download it.
EDIT: Yep, works here.

if you are using Firefox, you can click tools, page info, media tab, select media file, and then save as.
