Is it finally time to battle in Charlestown??? British can clear the blockade and attack in the same turn...

  • Options
    TheColonelTheColonel ChicagolandRegistered User regular
It sure is! Time for the Empire to strike back.

    Special Action - Naval Pressure
Remove Naval Blockade from Charles Town and New York City (Thanks Howe)

Command - Battle in Charles Town
    1 Resource to fight

Attackers - We have 8 Regulars and 2 Tories
    Defenders - 2 Regulars, 1 Underground Militia, 1 Fort

@A Half Eaten Oreo to decide if they want to activate their Militia

Patriots have at least one more militia than listed in the map correct?

  • Options
A Half Eaten OreoA Half Eaten Oreo Registered User regular
Might be an extra militia and continental? Depending on @Hedgethorn?

I believe that since it says Patriots free Rally, the Patriot player actually gets control of it. So it's up to you.

Can we make sure that actions are fully completed before going on to the next actions?

Oh well then Patriots have +1 if each.
If we’re making map requests. It seems on the last British Muster a few blocks got stacked on each other. I thought there were only 8 blocks total, which is a whole d3 difference! I’m still cool taking the event, but it did become way riskier.

It's still on you to decide if you want to activate the militia or not

  • Options
A Half Eaten OreoA Half Eaten Oreo Registered User regular
Activate both militia. Just to be sure that would leave patriots with 3 continentals, 2 militia, and a fort for a force level of 6.

Or bad at math. Activate just 1 militia for force level of 4. Sorry on phone so have to keep going back and forth between docs and images.

Patriots can't get to FL 6 since militia are only worth .5FL. They're maxed at 5, but could activate militia to absorb losses.

A Half Eaten OreoA Half Eaten Oreo Registered User regular
yeah I saw that. i’ll Leave one militia under

    Alright... let's try this again...

    Attacking Force Level = 10 (8 Regulars + 2 Tories)
    Defending Force Level = 4 (3 Regulars + 1 Fort)

    Brits rolling 3d3
    Patriots rolling 1d3

    Geth, roll 3d3 for British
    Geth, roll 1d3 for Patriots

    British:
    3d3 6 [3d3=3, 1, 2]
    Patriots:
    1d3 1 [1d3=1]

    Defender Loss Level = 6 + 1(half cubes Regulars) + 1 (attacking Leader) -1 (Washington Defending) -1 (Defending Fort)= 6
    Attacker Loss Level = 1 + 1(half cubes Regulars) + 1 (1+ underground) +1 (at least one Defending Leader) + 1 (Fort) = 5

Patriots remove 1 Regular, 1 Active Militia, 1 Regular, 1 Regular, 1 Fort
    Brits remove 1 Regular, 1 Tory, 1 Regular, 1 Tory, 1 Regular

British Win the Day because the Patriots have been eliminated (underground Militia are ignored)

Will pause for @admanb to confirm results before moving on to WtD

    So that’s 6+0 and 1+3?
So pats lose the militia and all 3 continentals.

British lose 2 regulars and 1 torie?

  • Options
A Half Eaten OreoA Half Eaten Oreo Registered User regular
Defender loss level should have an extra minus 1 for the fort? And continentals don’t count as regulars I think so only 4 losses British side.

  • Options
    TheColonelTheColonel ChicagolandRegistered User regular
Alright so I'll repost with the updates

  • Options
admanbadmanb unionize your workplace Seattle, WARegistered User regular
Yep. LL is 6 to 4, but Regulars and Continentals are each worth two losses so defender goes Continental/Militia/Continental/Continental for 7LL, while attacker losses Regular/Tory/Regular for 5LL.

British still WtD for two shifts.

  • Options
A Half Eaten OreoA Half Eaten Oreo Registered User regular
Regulars as continentals count as two losses each.
So for pats it’s 2+1+2+2 so the fort should remain.
For brits it’s 2+1+2. So you still have tons of dudes left. And still win the day.

Patriots should keep the fort. (Everyone else beat me to it.)

    Defender Loss Level = 6 + 1(half cubes Regulars) + 1 (attacking Leader) -1 (Washington Defending) -1 (Defending Fort)= 6
    Attacker Loss Level = 1 + 1 (1+ underground) +1 (at least one Defending Leader) + 1 (Fort) = 4

Patriots remove 1 Continental, 1 Active Militia, 1 Continental, 1 Continental
Brits remove 1 Regular, 1 Tory, 1 Regular

    British Win the Day
Can increase support by 2, will do so in South Carolina to Active Support

  • Options
admanbadmanb unionize your workplace Seattle, WARegistered User regular
Pretty good! I think a real good roll there (8 or 9) would've nearly evened the game up, but I think any British Win the Day is good enough to keep us in it.

    New map up soon.

The Queen’s Rangers Show for Battle

The Loyalist regiment with a history reaching back to Rodger’s
Rangers in the French and Indian War was renamed in honor of
Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III. Lieutenant-Colonel
John Graves Simcoe turned the Queen’s Rangers into one of the most
successful British regiments in the war.

    March 2 Regulars to Maryland/Delaware.

Josiah Martin, NC Royal Governor, Plots

British Colonial Governor Josiah Martin unsuccessfully attempted to
organize the Loyalists of the North Carolina colony. When his Loyalist
Highlanders were defeated at the Battle of Moore’s Creek Bridge
and the Revolution became insurmountable, he left the colony.

Agreed. And for full disclosure I PMed this to TheColonel because I wanted to make sure he saw it before he started his turn:
if A Half Eaten Oreo decides not to Brilliant Stroke... a Skirmish in Charles Town can finish off the fort there and then you can countermarch from Ctown/Savannah/Boston into North Carolina. Throw in a couple units marching to Norfolk to cut off the French units that just marched in and we could be in a good position...

Sorry, Rocheambeau should have marched to North Carolina with the forces there, if it's not too late to include that.

Yeah I figured there was like a 90% chance that's what you meant to do.

  • Options
    TheColonelTheColonel ChicagolandRegistered User regular
Aye, we were of like mind on that front.

Special Activity - Skirmish in Charles Town
Remove Patriot Fort and 1 British Regular

    Command - March
3 Regulars/2 Tories from Boston to Norfolk
3 Regulars/3 Tories from Savannah to North Carolina
2 Regulars/1 Tory from Charles Town to North Carolina
1 Regular from Charles Town to Norfolk

Howe from Charles Town to North Carolina

  • Options
admanbadmanb unionize your workplace Seattle, WARegistered User regular
British spend two resources down to 1. Skirmishing reduces FN to 0 due to Howe's ability. Marching into Norfolk activates the militia there.

Well the event seems not good, and pats need cubes. Rally in Massachusetts adding the lone militia I have left and converting all the militia to continentals.

  • Options
admanbadmanb unionize your workplace Seattle, WARegistered User regular
Five hot cubes to MA. Never thought about the fact that you could be maxed out on Militia and be unable to do an optimal Rally because you have to place them before you convert them.

“If it hadn’t been so foggy…”

At the close of the Battle of Brooklyn Heights, George Washington
managed to evacuate 9,000 Patriot troops saving them from capture.
It would not have been possible had a fog not settled in and concealed
    the evacuation from the British.

Indians Gather in NW (+2 WP), SW (+3 WP), and SC (+2 WP), spending two resources. Then we'll Trade in the SW for one resource.
