Good news for Nova fans: Paul Pelletier is the new penciler starting in March, and Alex Maleev will be on covers. I like Wellington Alves' work quite a lot in the current arc, and I'd be happy to see him get more work at Marvel. At the same time, Pelletier is doing a bang up job on FF with McDuffie, and I'm sure he's going to keep it going in Nova. Maleev's a great cover artist as well, so I'm pretty excited about what they're gonna do.
EDIT: Crap, I just took a good close look at those pencils, and they're awesome. Pelletier's a great choice for this book.
Is that the Ragdoll from Secret Six or did they mistakenly put another Ragdoll in that costume, because if the former then he didn't even attempt to capture the character and that's a real insult to Gail Simone.
are you serious?
when a writer is given control of a character and a book they have creative control on what they get to do with them
just cause willingham isn't writing the character you think it should be written isn't an insult

He does have creative control, of course, as evidenced by the fact that the book was published as it was. Nonetheless, the comic industry strives to maintain a certain continuity between the appearances of characters in order to maintain some semblance of a consistent universe that extends beyond the confines of any individual book. This doesn't work when writers ignore the work of other writers to such an extent that one character's actions in one book bear no resemblance to that character's actions in another.
As to whether or not it's really an insult, I suppose that's best left to the opinion of the parties involved.
Man, that Teen Titans Year One preview looks fantastic. I don't know why, but "Year One" titles always get me all excited. Probably because they help me get to know DC characters, which I typically know very little about.
..... So Batman catches Robin sitting around in front of the computer wearing his short-shorts with a guilty expression on his face, and Batman's assumption is that he was chatting with friends?

World's Greatest Detective? Yes.
But only because he started out with such a major deficit in common sense.

Alternatively:
World's Greatest Dad? Not so much.
He has a matching mug and bumper sticker that say differently.
Oh man I love Kerschl art so much and wish he could have done the Flash. Is TT:Y1 an ongoing or just like a 6 issue mini? I really no nothing about it but after seeing he's on art (even with someone else) I'm in. (Plus the story looks pretty good)

All the Year One stories are minis, and yeah this looks awesome and way better than the Teen Titans ongoing.
I've always like the Year One stories and similar books like Untold Tales of Spider-Man and X-Men: First Class. The expansive histories of both universes are huge assets and should be used more often, especially when someone wants to utilize a dead character. When the choice is apparently between telling a story from when Gwen Stacy was still alive or bringing her back within the modern universe even though she no longer has a place within it, the better of the two should be immediately apparent.

I gotta admit
the way Ollie get's Connor's body off the boat is pretty fucking cool
Have we actually seen/heard anything other than the cover with Ollie and the shroud that confirms that Connor is dead? 2007 was a bad year for characters I like. :x

It seems pretty cut and dry, but solicits are still fairly cryptic, as they were with Ollie's "death".
I think Connors may be the real mccoy, but then again, it's Winick.
But jesus christ almighty it's great to have a Green Arrow book that looks great again.

He's so articulate when he's leaping 20 feet in the air shooting things. In his parka.
I already love Nova but this looks like a nice development
