Some guardians, comms specialist and two gunners, and an Avenger exarch.
I already painted some Stygies models for 40k, so why not go full xenarite for kill team. Iteratii teams are for field testing weaponry after all.
Vanguard heavy with highly heretical plasma caliver.
Got some green stuffing to do.

What would be the best way to paint my AdMech kill team up as the Taken from destiny?

What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable? ~ Mario Novak
I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
I plan on doing Ryza with mine the orange sherbert look is kind of well meh since it's the choice of metal or red past that
My house is extremely dusty it doesn't help I have been cleaning up so it's been getting everywhere
Just I have little room to build and paint my models other than while I sit at the computer so the pile of them was from this week
I really should get some of those wipes and clean my keyboard it works fine but you can tell I learned to type on a typewriter with the lack of use of the number pad and other keys
I had a woman come into work and show me the severe mold going on in her flat. She showed me what happened to a biscuit (unrecognisable) after spending 4 days being left in a cupboard.
It was about on par with your keyboard.
(Not quite as bad as the dead person’s flat I went into)

So I have two projects for painting now. I'm finally feeling in the mood again.
I'm gonna do my Tau KT in color shift paints, each squad is gonna be a different color. Still need to figure out how to highlight with that or if I even need to highlight.
The other one is painting my AdMech KT like the taken from destiny. I'm thinking I'll need gloss black and white for a base and then try to figure it out from there.
For reference

That person clearly has six limbs, seems like a genestealer to me.
For real though, that seems like a challenging paint scheme, but I'd love to see the finished project.

Yea, I figure it is gonna be a pain. Like I'm not really sure how to get that effect on the legs transferred to paint. I'm gonna look at some youtube videos for glowing effects.

I'm up to eleven models painted(!), after stripping, assembling, and priming another nine. I'm very happy with them, for once, and I have no idea what's come over me. I normally hate the whole process once I finish a model.
I threw Warlock Purple on my Interventor's hair and really liked it, and I needed another color for the Lizard (the gundam in the back) and so I tried it out. Not super sure on it, but eh, my wife likes it.

I love the initial basecoating of a mini. quick coats and not having to be perfect. Watching the actual character come out of the mini as the colors bring out the details. Then comes the hours of fine detail work, washing and dry brushing.

my idea would a preferably airbrushed gradient from off-white to grey-turquoise to (almost) black gradient as a basecoat than highlight the whole model with glazes of the same greyish turquoise as the midtone of the gradient. Maybe also a pure white wash into the recesses of the off-white parts.

I'm struggling a bit with the wash on a test model, and need a few extra eyes and some advice.
This model is test for a bit of "rapid production" on a batch of miniatures I'm getting down the road. Ideally, I want to airbrush primer, airbrush basecoat, pick out some details in metallics, wash, and hardcoat to finish. I'm not looking to win awards, I just want to get the models table-ready in a few, quick steps as possible.
The problem is that I'm basecoating in yellow. It's beautifully smooth after airbrushing, something I'd never be able to accomplish by hand. I love it, it's exactly what I want. And now I'm trying to figure out what color wash to use, and I'm just not hitting it. I first tried Seraphim Sepia (feet), but it looks a little too dirty to me. Then I tried straight purple ink (leg on our viewing right), thinking that purple is opposite yellow on the color wheel, but that came out waaaay too strong. Then I tried a drop of purple ink mixed with several drops of the Sepia (leg on our viewing left), but that's still not right.
Any advice you guys could provide would be great. Also, sorry for the slightly blown out picture; I just set up a new lighting arrangement, and I think I need to tone it down a bit.
For yellow, a red or orange wash will work well if you want to keep the warmth. Browns or purples will desaturate it and end up looking grimy.
For my schoolbush orange CSM, I use Reikland Fleshshade, but you could probobly go even more orange with either Cassandora Yellow (liquid magic) or Fuegan Orange.
If you don't want such stark contrast Cassandora Yellow gets a lot of praise for washing yellow armour as far as I can tell. Maybe then another lighter wash of Fuegan Orange?
edit: The citadel paint app ha a bunch of different yellows. Maybe one of those is to your liking?

A different, worse colour
I'm pretty sure fuegan orange is a step lighter than sepia but there would still be a pretty sharp difference in color
I don't think the feet would look bad at all once the panels were highlighted

You're probably not wrong, but I really don't want to spend the next year working on this upcoming batch of miniatures, and panel highlighting everything feels like it would be...a lot.
I'm willing to accept a bit of "dirtyness" to it all, since I'm trying to go fast, but I'm more struggling with the color of the wash. Sounds like Cassandora Yellow/Fuegan Orange might be my next stop.

What brand/colors are you using to get that basecoat down?

I actually did this model in Model Color Flat Yellow (70.953) (says Golden Yellow on my pot, weirdly), but then afterwards learned that cadmium is a thing and airbrushing it is really not a great idea. So the rest of the models will be in Model Air Flat Yellow (71.078) once I get them and the paint. The primer is Vallejo Surface Primer White.

I'll need to look up some videos on gradients as well.

I don't think I'd try to attempt anything bigger than a "large" scale D&D miniature without an airbrush. Working with this giant is taking a lot of time just to get my base coats down. I've probably got 4 hours into it already and am only about 80% done.
These are good looking armies but pictures taken at this distance make it impossible to tell whether any of it is painted particularly well.
I kinda just grabbed the pics last minuite. I’ll get some better pics for the armies for the next tourney I’m at.
Those second eldar is just airbrush and a template.
I meant in the player's fluff/lore/whatever for his army, is that supposed to be some kind of special effect like Eldar holo-fields, or is that just how his Cabal paint their vehicles?

Holy crap, I finished something! And I don't hate it! In fact, I'm so happy with how these models came out, I'm actually energized to paint more, which is a total first for me.
I know there's places that can be improved, but I can see the improvement from my last batch of models. And my tools and tool-use have gotten so much better; that said, I think I'm going to be in the market for a new all-rounder brush. Watching a bunch of Youtube vids is really making me itch for better brushes.
Spoilers within spoilers for Holy Crap All The Pictures:
One of the debates since I got a few spures of the mark IV armor is to paint them up as imperial fists but for their iconography/heraldry I will wait till the siege of terra era of the horus hersey to see all their delicious lore since I am going to do them as the proto black templars
Getting back into it. I did up the Witch King of Angmar as a quick airbrush study to try to remember how to paint black/grey before getting stuck into Corax. Was pretty rusty but go everything more or less how I wanted it in the end. When in doubt glaze the shit out of things.
Still haven't found my good camera

Personal favorites:
"gritty deldar"
"holo- effect or just fancy paint scheme?"
Not so favorite:
This one looks too much like the stock Necron vehicle paint scheme, IMHO.
