I feel like I'm in the first few minutes of a horror video game. In the last week or so I've noticed that I'll come downstairs and the door to my basement will be open. I assume that one of my cats has figured out how to turn doorknobs because that's the only explanation that I like. I live alone.

This morning I looked out my window and saw that the door to my shed was open. I keep the shed door unlocked because the key is finicky and there's nothing to steal in there anyway. We had a lot of wind last night so it could have blown open except it takes a lot of effort to push the door open as the door grinds up against the warped floor. Someone likely opened it.

I haven't looked in there yet. I'll check it after work. I also haven't really investigated my basement since I noticed the door is sometimes open (although my cats have been down there and they seem normal).

Probably tomorrow I'll wake up and all my cupboards will be open or my furniture will be hanging from the ceiling.

People secretly living in other people's houses is a real thing that has happened. Be careful, please.

Open sheds are something you should 100% go check out. No need to wait for sunlight, or to grab a flashlight.

I'd rather it be ghosts. I will investigate after work and let's hope I don't end up on the news.

If it's ghosts, no big deal, but you should always bring a partner for those as well. NEVER BUST ALONE!

Dont listen to TankHammer. The appropriate response is to mutter "tis the wind, and nothing more". Then go see what opened, opened your shed door.

Windmilling, actually. That definitely works against ghosts.

Nothing in my shed or the basement. I can safely let my guard down.

OBVIOUSLY what Taya has is a mean case of borrowers. If you find a sewing needle fashioned into a rapier or similar you'll know for sure. Then you're up to your elbow in charmingly repurposed objects and tiny little thieves.

It was definitely one of those trash pandas people love so much. It probably just wanted a hug and a sammich. You should go to the kitchen and make it a sammich.

Post some ghost videos. There was that cool lighthouse one with the ghost peeping over the rail, but I can't find it.

I liked Alice isnt dead. Its one long story broken up into small chapters. Its available on Youtube if you dont want to download it. And It answers a very important question about chickens.

Alice isnt Dead is good. It just ended season 3 and they put out a book as well.

Welcome to Nightvale is fun horror. It's more about a local radio news show that happens to take place in a universe where Lovecraft is the law of the universe. So it passes off all the eldritch horror as common place. For example a sentiant glow cloud (ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD) serves on the PTA.

Others I've come across is Tanis, Darkest Night, and Rabbits. They are all contained in universe story narrative podcasts that I've had come across my recommendation on Stitcher.

Tanis is quite bad, I wouldn't recommend it even though I listen to everything episode. I HIGHLY recommend Archive 81 and The Magnus Archives. The first is 3 10 episode seasons that tell very different but connected stories that fall closer to mystical then spooky, and Magnus is a bunch of unconnected scary stories that eventually develops a cool overarching plot.

Is this spooky thread general enough to talk about any Halloween-related stuff, or is it necessary that all topics be spooky? I'm in the market for costume advice, but it's not spooky per se, so I want to make sure if this is the right venue first.

Exclusively spooky, if your costume isn't scary enough don't bother

An exception will be made for those cases where your costume isn't spooky per se, but does go bump in the night.

    I was wrong.

Squidward's Suicide is easily fucking dumber.
