ok, now i see what the situation is.

lyla is an insta-flip as soon as zyne moves next to her. also during the total war effect, we can move lyla into the troops in town, so when zyne moves, all the troops on lyla's area are removed when she flips.

i hate to delay, but the front line is gassed. we have no troops and no resources.

zyne needs resources first and foremost. he needs to scrape all the resources he can, and get support cards funneled his way via donia. if he wants to get a support card as well, i dont see the problem.

elf king will need enough resources to launch an attack against vampire when vamp moves down. he is in a 3resource generator so he will be sustaining.

the question is, do we want annalie up with josephine for more distribution options, or down at the town and getting 5/action.

so for turn 7, princess doesnt move.

turn 8, everyone gets resources and build some troops, princess moves 1 space, takes 6trooper assault.

turn9, zyne moves to lyla, flips her, gets troops. keep funneling resources to zyne, troops to princess.

well see what happens after that.

meanwhile i sit outside chancellor town and let him break himself on me.

emperor should be very weak since vampire and chancellor will be the only units left under his control. dark knight is not an imperial.

we did pretty good wiping the field.of enemy generals.

When an empire character turns, the troops doesn't disappear, but continue to fight. When zyne get to Lyla he still needs the army to fight aganist the remaining troops.

Well, he only needs to fight those troops and win if we need him to stick around for the post-game ... For beating the Emperor, removing Lyla is enough.

As for myself, I need a total of < 16 resources (if I lose no troops on the march, 6 + 6 + 4) resources to get into the capital*, at which point I basically plan to throw myself at the Emperor to whittle him down before the Princess arrives. Unfortunately, from where I'm sitting, that's two actions of gathering supplies and one of attacking the Vamp - which means I won't be able to get to the capital until next round, as opposed to potentially this round if my cards and dice come up nice.

    * Assuming I can OHKO the vampire, which is not beyond the bounds of believability. If not, that's another 6 or so resources I'd need, which would be verra bad at this stage.

yea. so we need resources then. thats the kicker at this juncture. we dont want the princess to grind against the outer defenses at this moment, because it would be very bad for her to suddenly get resources to charge the emperor with 1 or 2 troops.

i thought my turn7 moves were for moving towards the chancellor?
    edit*** apparently not. hang on...
edit edit. actually, yes, I've already moved for turn 7 to get to the chancellor. the map on page 17 is the a midturn update so we could see where everyone was at.

its @Phyphor 's turn and then we are finished with Turn7.
we need to dump resources on zyne so he can move when the princess steps into the mountains at the edge of the capital, and dump resources on to elf king so he can attack the vampire and move around the other way.

    +1 soldier +5R for free
    Recruit 2 soldiers
    1 soldier + 2R to the princess
    1 soldier + 8R to zyne

Princess moves this turn and loses 4 soldiers, zyne can move freely next turn, I can send 4 soldiers to the princess next turn

good good. we'll need to make sure she gets those troops and we outfit Zyne as well for the counter hit from lyla's troops.
when lyla moves, we might as well keep her off the other troops to keep the doom stack minimal, since she doesnt remove her troops on being flipped.

Don't forget you can retreat from being attacked too, fighting isn't mandatory unless you're an unlucky wizard

    Enemy phase

Vampire moves SE, absorbs 1 soldier.

Fate: Emperor's Right Hand - This character gains 2 soldiers. The game cannot be won while this character is on the map.

@Daemonis to choose if Lyla moves NE or SE, and which space the pit fiend moves to, towards Zyne or Donia.

Shouldn't the soldier attack elf king immediately not waiting for the vampire?

  • Options
    MrBodyMrBody Registered User regular
The order of their movement is also up to the first player. @Daemonis

Game actually recommends you move things in order of closest to players first to resolve things like this. Troops and general both move, and don’t combine.

Oh, well go ahead and roll then. Even on defense, the elf will probably have it bounce off.

I vote we pick someone easy to blow up, and put them to the NE of the Emperor.

Ravinith or Gregorio have the lowest combat power / health, and Ravinith can't spawn anything until she moves off of the Emperor's tile.

Why would ravinith not spawn anything?

Because at the end of her turn, she spawns troops on empty spaces on her own tile. The Emperor's entire tile is already full.

(Also, sorry, she'll spawn troops in her own square to bring them up to 4.)

Well geez so I did. What a bad week.

We've had little debates on what the emperor's ability means. If that imperial units on his tile can't move period, or only via player card/power actions. There was some grammar debate that there should be extra commas in their if movement also fell under "by cards and special powers". I'm leaning towards they still move on their own. Check back in a bit.

  • Options
PhyphorPhyphor Building Planet Busters Tasting FruitRegistered User regular
I would interpret the emperor's ability as the players cant move characters via cards but they otherwise behave normally

wait wait... lets have gregorio be the ressurected commander. because his power is the weakest to fight against. it doesnt affect us until the beginning of a turn so as long as we stay off the emperor tile, we are safe from him.
the only danger from gregorio is where we put him on the emperor tile and if he starts picking up a doom stack.
we have ravenith there, and she just spawns soldiers all over the place and forces us to lose troops with princess fights.
