Unintalling isn't a big deal. It's super easy to reinstall.

It actually will also clean up a lot of excess files on your PC since patching tends to make your build bloated.

Oh, I’m afraid the hots install will be quite operational when your friends arrive.

Played a few games last night after being in California for two weeks for TwitchCon. Went 4/4. Thought I only played him in two of those games, Mal'Ganis is such a broken turd.

He has such a fun kit, though. I hope any balancing they do on him doesn't neuter him into shitsville.

strategy to balance malganis: make carrion swarm 100 second cooldown, make carrion swarm's cast .5s longer or make him unable to move while casting it, make carrion swarm do 25% less damage at current healing level, or 25% less healing at current damage level.

tada. everything wrong with the hero is carrion swarm related. his kit is fine, and his almost exactly 50% winrate with dark conversion is a testament to that. but carrion swarm is upside down crazy and until they fix that he's going to be messed up.

As always in these videos, please note the 3-level and 20-talent-tier difference :)

Not that she's not strong! She looks like it. But that's not representative of a normal 1v3 or anything.

Two level difference and the same talent tier, kime. She hits 20 because of the triple kill. It’s representative.

They already have a planned balance tweak for orphea on release to get chomp dmg that just missed the ptr release. Probably still not enough but they do know already it's over tuned

ya, infinite scaling quest that scales too much and the ability to cast chomp twice instantly with the 16 talent is... it's a thing! the baseline damage is fine, but the scaling quest is bad and they need to lower the amount gained and cap it. most of these videos have the chomp damage doubled or more from the level 7 quest, which is too much for a level 7 talent.

It would be that same setup except with 5 players on the enemy team fighting under the cover of a fort... same outcome.

The number of heroes in that clip is irrelevant given how grouped up they are. They would die to a combo from most mages, as well as heroes like late-game Zeratul and Gazlowe with bomb build.

I literally put Gazlowe in my post. Zarya with Gravitron and full energy can similarly destroy heroes. Jaina has slows+roots+RoF. Kael'thas can empower Gravity Lapse to lock multiple people in place. Nazeebo can absolutely body people if they get stuck into a Zombie Wall, even without Vile Infection.

Just to clarify - I'm not disputing that is overtuned. I'm just saying that the clip doesn't seem to be great evidence of that. 2 levels is the difference between barely surviving with 10% HP and dying outright. Walking up to a burst mage who has their displacement CC ult available is just asking to get deleted.

Given what people have said I would not be surprised if they need to nerf her into the ground. Infinite stacking quests, in particular, are always tough to balance.

Also see: Kel'thuzad (who is also stupid and should not exist, but exists nonetheless)

For orphea I'm still amazed that a burst mage has a very snappy cc displacement ult to line up her burst. I realize temporal loop is point and click, but this seems so much harder to counter act.

The counter is don't have bad positioning, and my team really hates when that's the only strategy I can recommend

Yeah, the biggest light bulb moment for me in this game was realizing that I just couldn't ignore the enemy hero's kit and mindlessly walk into range and trade damage with them. Every hero has an effective zone and power that has to be respected in relation to your own's. In a lot of cases, the results are incredibly one-sided, especially when certain heroes have their cooldowns available. Watching a high-level player on stream casually walk up to an enemy hero and just destroy them because they know they will win the trade 100% of the time has only served to reinforce this. They aren't just good because they have high mechanical skill, they are good because they inherently know how particular match-ups play out and will ruthlessly take advantage of them on the spot.

I get what you're saying here about being grouped up and all and how other Heroes can do the same to punish grouped up enemies

    But

    xnTikL4.jpg

They also can't just walk up to enemy Heroes and deal 2.8k-3.2k damage with one single button press.

That's WITHOUT the 25% damage increase from Ancestral Strength at level 1 either. That's WITHOUT using Double Chomp.

That's just walk up press W. And granted he's got 100% spellpower from the level 20, but the real story here is the fucking stacking talent.

Orphea plays like an entirely different Hero without that stacking quest. It's like taking Frost Blast on KTZ vs Shadow Fissure. Maelstrom vs Ultralisk. Dark Conversion vs Carrion Swarm.

I just don't know what they're thinking allowing a talent like that in the game. Both the stacking talent and 100% spellpower.

Eh, the trailer could've done without the clearly false accusation that Blizzard didn't support D3. They went out of their way to essentially remake the game after launch and added a ton of new content that you didn't have to pay for. RoS wasn't a "small expansion" by any stretch of the imagination, either.

I give Blizzard massive props for continuing to work on D3 for so long when they could've done what literally every other developer does and just mothball the game until the population died off entirely.
