90% of the games I’ve had in the last two days have had either Sylvanas with the stun all the creeps build or Artanis or both. Which streamer do I have to thank for this and what are their counters?

sylvanas has LOTSSS of counters. literally pick any dive hero in the game, gg. zeratul in particular will DESTROY her. you jump on her, chunk her hard, she's gonna E away, you vorpal to her and finish her off, ez.
artanis falls prey to burst and cc, blinds can also be effective, poke damage also quite good. lunara for example can keep constant damage on him and punish him for engaging. diablo, ETC, garrosh, etc can displace him and then he has no escape. malthael as well because of the % damage. anub'arak, xul, li li... a burst mage like jaina. but really it's heroes like diablo that will ruin his fucking day. make it so he can't escape and he'll get focused down really, really hard. as far as actually damaging him you have to put your damage into him when his shield is down, there is a sizeable window in which you can do that. ability damage over AA since he can take suppression.
Alternatively, most Sylvanas players are objectively terrible and use their Haunting Waves offensively, leaving them wide open to literally any hero that can hard initiate.

I feel like I'm in the middle-age phase of my HotS life. Hard to find the will to learn certain heroes sometimes.
i love learning heroes as long as they're fun and don't make me hate myself.
super high skill floor god tier apm shit isn't very fun for me though. i mostly want the learning to be about learning what to do in situations with a character, not how to make my dumb fingers make the character go lol.

Aw man, I was planning on finally picking up the year stimpack during the sale this year....but then they made this update. I thought it previous years it was 45 or 50 for the year stim? Or maybe I'm just wrong and the new Boost price is the same and it's what I thought I wanted anyway.
They did actually nerf Orphea a bit from PTR to Live, huh.
PROBABLY NOT ENOUGH STILL LOL
But it's nice to see that anyway.
Copypaste of the Orphea nerfs:
Stats
Maximum Base Health reduced from 1750 to 1662
Health Regen reduced from 4.09 to 3.46
Abilities
Shadow Waltz (Q)
Base cooldown increased from 5 to 6 seconds
Mana cost increased from 25 to 40
Mana refund on hit increased from 25 to 40
Talents
Level 7
Ravenous Hunger (W)
Damage per Minion kill reduced from 3 to 2
Damage per Hero kill reduced from 60 to 40
Level 20
Eldritch Conduit (Trait)
Spell Power per stack reduced from 5 to 3%
Spell power max stack bonus reduced from 50 to 30%

((or merc queen on certain maps, but))
I dunno. It seems to have a reasonable pick and win rate. I think it's only a trap if you use it mindlessly, but if you know you're in a safe position for pushing or mercing it's a pretty good button to push.

Nerfing Ravenous Hunger like they did should go a long way towards normalizing Orphea

I think it's always been 6,000 gems/$60 during the winter sale.

The winrate is equivalent but you get the same performance out of Overflowing Quiver instead (esp Overflowing Quiver+Barbed Shot!) and you're not burning an escape ability just to stun a wave for 7 seconds (is it really going to take you 7 seconds to clear a wave?)
I'd rather hold my E to use it when I actually need to escape with it.
Why not provide more counterplay to Mephisto's ult? Instead of channeling for 5 seconds and dealing damage to everyone, why not make the damage a poisonous effect. Now the player has a chance to tap a well, grab an orb, or find the healer before dying. Seems more thematically appropriate too.

I thought they got rid of specialist
I thought we were going to get the high school skins for free
Either way I got specialist today and played Zul for my first game in QP on the other team was someone playing Genji giving me a hard time. On the 2nd game I switched to Azmodan and again he was there with Genji just as annoying but I was prepared for it.
It's fine. You know how it works in DotA? No, for real. I know I talk about DotA a lot but in this case it's a literal apples to apples comparison, as Zeus has the exact same ult. You know it works in DotA? Zeus hits R and everyone takes a shit ton of damage, instantaneously. There is no wind up, no animation to cancel; he just hits R and blasts you. And if he has a Refresher Orb, the DotA equivalent of Rewind, he hits R again.. It's a real pain in the ass, but it's fine. Mephisto is fine too, as far as I'm concerned.
honestly, i find that consume souls isn't as much of an "i win" button as people make it out to be
like, "no counterplay" is tossed around, but. there. is???? there's a lot of counterplay???? it's hero specific, but it exists:
- any form of ice block or stasis or protected or otherwise invulnerability
- any form of spell armor or armor
- any form of shielding
- just, like, getting a heal
- interrupt mephisto???? (not always possible, i get that)
spell armor/armor is the most common ground, and guess what, lots of heroes have access to those sorts of survivability talents. you might not normally pick them, but they're there. i would go so far as to say there are actually very few heroes in the game that don't have SOME form of at least partially negating consume souls.
I just firmly believe that it's a bad ability that runs counter to the spirit of the game.
If the enemy team comes out on top in a fight but they're low and no support...I should not be able to mop them up by clicking a button in spawn. That's shit.
I'm not saying it happens all the time or that it's aggressively game breaking. I'm saying its shit design.

Genji will go all-in when he smells blood in the water, so anticipate his attacks by monitoring your own vulnerability. Save Bone Armor for when you get low, so that you can prevent him from resetting his dash on you. If you can catch him out like that, he'll likely blow Cyber Agility to get back out to safety. If you're quick, you can land your Bone Prison on him before the jump, and then he'll really be in trouble. Best case scenario, he dies, but you might also be able to force a panic X-Strike out of him.

For me the point isn't that it's an "I win" button or that it's overpowered.
It's that it is boring design and incredibly asymmetrical. You don't even aim it. You literally just hit a button and wait. Like, even Pyroblast and basic attacks have to be targeted. And while one player hits a single button and waits, pretty much everyone on the other team has to either eat the damage or do something to counter it - in many cases something that requires more skill to accomplish (e.g., i-frames).
So there's this incredibly thin razor's edge where Blizzard has to make the ult impactful enough to be worth taking and to force some kind of reaction but not so strong that it's overpowered.
Like I said, the ult is strong enough that it's arguably worth just blowing immediately to force people to use their cooldowns. What's more valuable, getting 350+ damage on every enemy hero, or forcing every single one of them to decide whether they need to use Deflect/Ice Block?

Yeah, there are options against consume souls. It's incredibly telegraphed so you can heal and use all sorts of defensive CDs to stop it.
Meph has to be out of combat in order to be safe casting it, otherwise he'll eat an interrupt and have it go on the full two minute CD.
It only becomes absurd at level 20.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
i do think it's badly designed even if there is a lot more counterplay available now that you get absolutely fucked by it being interrupted so it's harder to use in fights.
it's just generally non-interactive, which isn't great for a game like hots i feel. it's why i don't like ktz or medivh.

You can probably guess how Nano Nazeebo went in teamfights.
I just wonder how much differently this would have gone if we had a CS Varian instead of a TB Varian. Sigh....

depending on the heroes anyway.
A lot harder?
I mean, he just has to back 5 feet out of vision and use it.
He should also already be out of vision if played well.
If more than one hero is at 15% HP or below, the odds of both getting healed above the threshold to not die with an extra 5 secs is still pretty low.
