I'm still on the fence about this one. Does it actually play like a proper arcade racing game, or is it one of those mobile style games where your car is stuck on a lane?
It's definitely the former, but it's not much like OutRun, if that's your aim. But as a normal arcade-style racer, it's good but pretty demanding.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!

It’s kind of like the Cruisin games on N64, but without the silliness. I enjoy it on iPad. Interested to give it a try with analog sticks if it’s not too pricey.

Wow. That artstyle is great. Very reminiscent of arcade racers / SNES era stuff, but with polygons and super smooth. I'm.. kind of surprised no one has tried that before.
Adjusting for my natural ineptitude and the more alien position of the right stick after a year of using the Joy Con Grip, I'm inclined to think that the Pro Controller I bought today is making a noticeable improvement in my Splatoon gameplay. It feels like I'm hitting more in situations where I would normally whiff. The wider 'base' of the controller and the general weight is very comfortable.
I wish racing games like that didn't tend to lean so hard into the difficulty. I know the visuals and mechanics are simple, it's not quite Gran Turismo or Need for Speed, they don't have the amount of interesting content to justify breezing through a lot of levels. But I don't want to bang my head against a wall of difficulty 3 or 4 races in. Always makes me flash back to NES games like Rad Racer where even the first level is a desperate struggle.
I googled the game to figure out what was going on. Yeah, don't do that. The entire series looks like near-naked people fighting or something. Pretty stupid, but obvious why it's popular.

Hardly,
Killa La Kill is amazing for a whole host of reasons. Largely because Studio Trigger are wizards.
edit- The whole opening sequence is just the best.

Sounds like you need a burnout takedown or better yet revenge game on the switch.
I was at a Q&A with the Kill La Kill creator. He literally said that the reason the characters were designed that way was so that one day he could see cosplayers wearing it.
But the anime itself is actually sort of a parody of fan-service in anime. It's self-aware of the issues (and the characters do too) and there's some overarching plot point about clothing and our relationship to it I can't really get into without major spoilers.
To bring it back to the game. I loved the anime, but I also feel the game is coming out like 5 years too late and I just don't have a lot of interest.

I mean, I guess? That whole thing seemed pretty dumb to me, but to each their own. I'm an old man now and gave up on anime in the early 2000s. 90s stuff (Ranma, Tenchi, Evangelion, El-Hazard, Key, Macross Plus, Fushigi Yugi, etc) was my jam, but obviously outdated and dull compared to today's standards.
Personally I don't really care for all the excessive fan service and cheese cake either, which Kill la Kill seems to have in spades. Again, if you like it or don't mind, good on you. It's just not for me anymore.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the fact they're all high schoolers.
Yeah, I enjoy a lot of anime, but KLK is just... bad, for a lot of reasons that would probably be heavily derailing in a Switch thread, and honestly the way people worship it like it's one of the best things to come out of animation in years weirds me out.
The game itself looks like your average by the numbers licensed game, ie not even worth thinking about, anyway.

I am exactly like you, and originally passed on Kill la Kill for the exact same reasons. It just looked like softcore porn. And while I love me some porn, I'd rather it go all the way, or not bother. I'm not a teenager, and it's not a pre-internet era. I don't need to watch the pool scene from assorted titilating 80's movies, or slow motion the twileck slave girl falling onto the sarlac pit in the belief that I think a boobie pops out in one frame.
That said, people I trust kept telling me I need to watch it. So one day I wound up sitting down to watch it with my girlfriend. She never watched anime.
We had some amazing laughs at it. The animation style is frenetic and pleasing to the eye. The music was great. As for the fan service, most of it was in fact more like a parody of fan service than actual fan service. But your mileage may vary. I mean, whether they are almost naked with a cynical wink at the audience or an inviting wink at the audience can be in the eye of the beholder.

I found the fansevice started being background noise around the point the plot stopped calling attention to it. I don’t know if this is desensitization or part of a greater commentary about how how showing skin is only seen as a big deal because we as a society choose to make it one.

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Can platinum points be exchanged for anything interesting or valuable? I got an email from Nintendo saying I got a bunch of them for my birthday, but it looks like it's all just wallpapers and junk?

Yup. Platinum coins are virtually useless. The best thing you could buy was the Zelda Picross game.

There's a couple cool 3ds themes if you care about that stuff. I actually just used some a couple nights ago to get the animal crossing autumn theme and some zelda halloween theme, because hey why not? Themes are cool, but I refuse to spend actual money on them.

Okay, this is fair, because I've gotten a few 3DS themes on there and I think they're fun. 3DS themes is exactly what My Nintendo should be all about.
The computer/phone wallpapers feels weird though because they don't have cute sound effects or anything, and I'm used to those being advertising freebies. And I guess they are technically, but it still feels weird.

Kill La Kill is mostly social commentary hidden behind the hilarious pun that the word for Cut and the word for Clothing are basically the same, along with being similar to a few other words. So it's meant to be both ridiculous and thought provoking.
