World of Light seems really cool so far. It's a lot more exploration based than I though. Tons of stuff in the map that I need to find other stuff to access (like i need to figure out how to use a boat to access this lake). My only complaint is that so far I don't really have any characters with any range and let me tell you some of these fights seem like they'd be a lot easier if I had some sort of projectile.
Can't wait to unlock K. Rool though. He seems awesome, especially since I'm a big DKC fan.
So Joker's stage is definitely gonna be the Casino Palace, right?
There are some other potential options but that one seems like it would be the most fun, visually, and also has a big role in P5 what with being a huge part of the plot
Does World of Light have any sort of cooperative thing?
Not that I can tell. There might be some hidden thing I'm not seeing, but it looks like it's just single player.
BTW does anybody know if you get anything extra for doing WoL in hard mode? I'm assuming just extra exp for your spirits and maybe some more items when you win, but I'm not sure.
I do like a lot of K. Rool's kit. His forward tilt is nay nays. Have yet to unlock any of my other villainous faves, so he's getting a bit of use right now.
Also unlocked the Inkling! That's a pretty cool kit I'm not really sure how to use effectively yet but I love how fast they are. Their aerials just seem sort of weird and slow to come out with narrow hitboxes (especially UAir)
I was assuming it doesn't, but was hopeful that it did. Anyway, since you can still unlock characters through regular matches I'm assuming that's how I'll play it with my kids.
Sorry to ask a million questions, but what are the custom match options like?

Yeah I found Inkling very involved and a little unwieldy but thats just because they seem like a complicated character with lots of moving parts and I'm a simple punchman
I am very impressed by how well they replicated the Splatoon experience in Smash. Watching your ink level, maintaining splat coverage, perfect sound effects, etc.
One other thought about the boss for Link's Classic mode (I'll stop putting this stuff behind spoiler tags in a couple of days, promise)
They actually kind of went in on my idea for Ganon as a character? Like, they went with his OoT design, but the dude can jump, teleport, use Demise's lightning sword blasts, Calamity Ganon's fire bombs, TP Dark Beast Ganon's charge attack, BOTW DBG's screen-clearing laser only it's a million times more threatening, multiple sword combos and concussive blasts...
That's a good Ganon! They made a good Ganon and then made him a boss character! It works!
...Wait, a few months ago didn't I say I wanted Ganon as a boss character? Wish granted!

Very Extensive.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
Ok not sure if they were in past SSB games since I didn't play much brawl or any of 4, but stamina fights suck. Take that shit out of my adventure mode.
Well I don't remember them, course it's been a very long time since I played that. My point still stands. This one fight against sonic and some random assist trophy that won't go away is nonsense. I start with 100% and sonic starts with 160%. The assist trophy just comes back if you knock it out.

Cool, I'm looking forward to creating stupid setups for my kids to mess around with.
Stamina was in melee but you only did it for challenges or if you hated yourself for vs. It is a bad mode, given that smash is built around knocking people off, not knocking people out.

Counterpoint: it's good, but only in the context of making it a Street Fighter easter egg

I would say either the casino palace or castle palace since they are the ones that got the most exposure, but neither really feels representative of the game as a whole. Mementos is a possibility, but I'm not sure how you convert an underground subway labyrinth into a smash stage. The Velvet Room is also a possibility. The fusion guillotine could even be used as a stage hazard.

Velvet Room is a real neat idea I hadn't considered
You're only saying that because I haven't started playing yet.

It's kind of overwhelming how much stuff there is in this game
Also, to people that pre-ordered through the eShop, have you gotten the double gold points? It said the bonus would go to your account once the game hit, but I still only have the 300 from the purchase
The unlock order is a little odd, it's weird that it's just all over the place
I like the thing that Versus unlocks are supposed to go in order of when they were introduced, but then playing any Classic or World of Light will mess that allllll up, as my first unlocks respectively were K. Rool and Pac-Man
Does anyone know if I have to do anything for pirannah plant if I bought the switch bundle
It's tied to registering the game with My Nintendo basically. If your copy of Smash is digital it's auto-registered when you buy it from the eshop or redeem your download code or whatever, if you got it physically you need to press the + button on the home menu when you have the game highlighted and go down to the My Nintendo Rewards Program button and register it for gold points with that.

I'm particularly thinking of that really quick cover swap dash thing

Metagross is not as cool as the Champions.

I'm accepting it as an omen that my favourite champion is going to be DLC
