Mega Man is going to take some getting used to.
He seems to be all about staying at range (most of his ground attacks seem kind of awkward to use at close range) but my instincts keep drawing me to close the distance.

His pellets having no stopping power is really weird, and I've decided I don't like it.
I remember feeling a guilty about liking Mii Swordfighter in Smash 4. But damn it, he's still super fun and good in Ultimate. And playing dress-up and trying different movesets is fun.
I just unlocked this dude in world of light and was really surprised at how much I'm enjoying him. I hadn't really loved any of the characters I had unlocked so far but he's got a really fun kit. And customizeable! Agree on the feeling guilty thing though.
So I sent an email to Nintendo Europe, and shortly afterwards I got the code for Piranha Plant. I'm not sure if that's a response from Nintendo or just good timing, but still, nice.

Is there a recommended moveset for the mii brawler?
I was messing around with it and it's possible to chain almost all his specials into one combo.
I think it was the charging kicks into the drop kick into the sliding kick.
The kick that charges up is what I used at first but it is so slow. I almost never get a hit off. I have mostly been using the drop kick, downwards headbutt, and the spinning kick up+b attack.

What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable? ~ Mario Novak
I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
What is the point of collecting different dojo training types? I can't see any way to switch among them or turn them off. I have about 6 spirits with 3 training styles each and it shows an icon by them like "hooray you learned this style" but it seems like only the most recently learned one is active?
How the heck do I turn them off or interact with them in any way?

I haven't tried any of the fighting styles myself. Don't really want the cons of any of them.
Theres a dojo run by Slowpoke where he'll erase and return them to default for you.
So yeah, I did this and unlocked most of the characters. Haha. Also I did not realize you could re-challenge fighters you lost to! I COULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING AS ZERO SUIT THIS WHOLE TIME!
So I ended up just starting all 3 save files on World of Light. each one picking a different path at the start, just so I could unlock more stuff at the beginning.
The good news is all the Spirits (not playable characters) carry over between them, so you can use that to level up a bunch of stuff early and get some more options.
Hey everyone! Remember how I said I would post the results of The First (and Last) Penny-Arcade Smash 5 Roster Prediction Game Run By Kupi on Saturday, after I'd had time to check if Kass ever appears on the Breath of the Wild Stage?
It's still technically Saturday in Eastern Standard Time, which means that I didn't actually forget about the contest because I was too busy playing Smash Ultimate.
And despite spending about ten minutes beating on Link while the background music was very specifically set to Kass's Theme, I saw no hint of the accordion-playing b[a/i]rd, despite the old man of the plateau pulling several flybys. Which means that all of the predictions have converged to a final verdict. And for that matter, all verdicts are now final. I am done with this. But not so done that I'm going to forgo one last spin around a joke I've long since run into the ground. Here it is, everyone:
The First (and Last) Penny-Arcade Smash 5 Roster Prediction Game Run By Kupi
FINAL RESULTS
Not a single one of the game's nine participants managed a positive score. But there was one person, just one person, whose score was least worst. And that person's strategy of only putting a couple guesses in there to begin with has led them to the top of the TF(aL)P-AS5RPGRBK scoreboard. Everyone else, please politely applaud from your small boxes at the bottom of the screen.
And if for some reason you're interested in the specifics of where everyone lost their points, this is the final readout from my results program, minus the output of the special bonus awards.

I probably won’t be getting Smash until Christmas. Hopefully by then there will be some good guides for unlocks. I want Zero Suit Samus and Ridley as soon as possible. Everything else I’m willing to discover on my own.
I know it's old hat by now, seeing as Final Smash has been a thing in the past few games, but DK's headbutt into ground/Final Smash is a really great combo if you can't quite be sure you'll nail it.
It was an example of the way the system works for other unlocks.
You could just replace Link and Samus with Sonic and Bayonetta like it actually is. After looking at that chart for a bit I just assumed they'd read something wrong

A character that I always feel bad that I don't really enjoy playing is Mario.
The Cape and FLUDD specials are just too weird for me. I get what they're for I'm just kind of eh on them, I want direct damage.
The coin uppercut is still one of the most satisfying moves in the series though.

I could have but considering it's been out for less then 3 days I figured I'd be a bit vague on what exactly unlocks what.

Played WoL for... several hours today. I'm actually finding it really addictive and I think I might actually be picking up some new skills with some of these crazy fights. So far the two most difficult have been The Boss, who I somehow beat with just 4hp remaining, and Paulina who I swear took 20 some odd tries.

Simons slow wind ups on attacks does not seem to translate well to multi-smash fights, but he does well in 1v1 play.

It's like they took every bullshit blue shell ever thrown in Mario Kart, and channeled it into a few fights.
Some are just meant to be a real uphill battle until you do.
I'm running with 99 spirits for all types. I'm around 10k power.
Fights like 9 & 18-Volt are just stupid. I eventually beat it, but I still loathe the design philosophy that went into that.
I'm genuinely curious if anyone's beaten it on Hard. I did it on Normal.
