It's totally not what actually happens in that fight, but The World Revolving has a real long passage in there after the introduction that sounds like the second phase of the typical JRPG final boss fight, where the big bad uses his special super move to drop your party to 1 HP, but everyone you helped remembers you and prays for your safety so you get fully healed and unlock all your final super moves.

My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

Oh, just updating you guys on CD and what I am doing with him.

My plan right now is to take him to Tuscaloosa during the Iron Bowl.

    So that’ll be a thing.

    It was indeed, a thing.

    IMG_0809.JPG

I started the trip by showing my doggo the little guy.

    IMG_0735.JPG

He kinda thought it was his.

    IMG_0728.JPG

But we persevered on and we arrived in Tuscaloosa.

    IMG_0764.JPG

CD was amazed by the sights to see.

    IMG_0767.JPG

I thought about getting him a new hat.

    IMG_0769.JPG

He wanted mine but I said no.

    IMG_0770.JPG

"What's that over there" he asked. "Later," I said.

    IMG_0772.JPG

We went on campus and I showed him the President's mansion:
    IMG_0780.JPG

    Denny Chimes.
    IMG_0781.JPG

    And the Quad:
    IMG_0783.JPGIMG_0784.JPG

    We stopped by sorority row:
    IMG_0785.JPGIMG_0787.JPG

Then it was finally time to go to the stadium!
    IMG_0789.JPG

    It's pretty big.
    IMG_0791.JPG
We were both tiny compared to the statues of the coaches:
    IMG_0792.JPG
    And the bear scared him
    IMG_0793.JPG
Finally we went to the game!
    IMG_0795.JPG
    IMG_0797.JPG
    Hmmm....something is missing.
    IMG_0800.JPG
    There we go!
    IMG_0802.JPG

All in all, the little guy really loved it down here. And the second half was way more exciting than the first!
    IMG_0809.JPG

Okay, he is ready to be sent on to the next person. Yippee!

I may not care much for Homestuck but CD travelling the world is incredibly wholesome and good.

As a bonus, here is Stephen Fry on the Iron Bowl (the game I went to)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuPeGPwGKe8

The difference is that I was in Tuscaloosa, not Auburn, and the stadium in T-town is much, much, much bigger than Auburn's.

I was immediately reminded of Wonko the Sane, an incidental character from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, who allegedly built the whole rest of the Earth a nice house to live in while he stayed outside (in fact, the walls were flipped inside-out so the wallpaper and cabinets faced outward while the siding, windows, and roofing faced inward).

Mine supposedly shipped on the 20th, but there's no tracking info yet and even accounting for the holidays it should've gotten here by now.

Hiveswap Friendsim Volume 17 is out. Just one left! This one has a song called "End of Friendvangelion" which is pretty great.

I think one was written by Hussie and the rest were by ??? because most of the Hiveswap staff was let go so I have no idea who is working on it now. Is anyone actually working on Hiveswap? I guess we’ll never know, since the switch to Viz didn’t include a PR department.

The next one's gotta be the last, since the only trolls from the Troll Call left are prettyboy vampire and the clown twins. Hopefully Hiveswap Act 2 gets announced afterwards.

I think hiveswap was mostly written by a dude whose resume was his Twitter account so I'm not hopeful

Finally got to DELTA RUNE, and delighted that I managed to dodge every spoiler except for a couple character designs.
Good job to Toby Fox for going the anthology route instead of the sequel route.
I always dug the concept of "different universe, different scenario, same players".

And oh my god RUDE BUSTER is an absolute fucking banger of a battle theme. Like, easily the best "battle some randos" theme since Persona 5 or Yakuza 0.

Did anyone get the hardcover Homestuck books? Are they worth it if you already got the original softcover books 1-3? I'm already looking to get book 3 for Act 4, but I don't know if it's worth getting the earlier ones.

You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

Book 2 has the Midnight Crew intermission, was that in the softcovers?

  • Ms DapperMs Dapper Yuri Librarian Registered User regular
Yeah, book 1 is all softcover content but past that it's all new content.

    Well new for the books

My Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff book finally arrived today and it is atrocious. I haven’t read the exciting narrative yet but the first thing I noticed is that the book isn’t a rectangle; it’s wider on the top than the bottom. Excellent.

I didn't even notice that with all the other hilarious things going on with that book. Amazing.
