I'm pretty sure using an external script to play the game is against the terms of service.
Nah; this seems incorrect.
A spacebar pressing script does not 'confer an advantage over someone not using' the script, so, as long as it abides by the community standards with respect to no stalling, it appears legal.
Mtgpro decklist scraping appears to be against the ToS though. (They might have already clarified this? It's possible the scraping clause is talking to people scraping the Wizards website then duplicating it for fraud and profit)
ToS 2.2 Restrictions: Things not to do:
(v) Cheating: Creating, offering, using, promoting, distributing, or making available any cheats, bots, hacks, or device, software, code, or program not expressly authorized by Wizards that grants any user an advantage over other players not using such methods;
I think automating your button pressing so you don't have to pay as much attention certainly grants an advantage over another user not using such methods.
It's arguable, sure. But the vast majority of games have made it pretty clear that using a script to automate your play is a no no, I wouldn't see why magic is any different.

The vast majority of videogames I've played have allowed keybind and key macro scripts.
To the point where I can't think of a counter-example.
Edit:
...
Researched a bit, and the games that I used to play were updated to remove macros a couple of years back.
So perhaps this is a thing I just missed
Regardless, auto-pressing spacebar confers no in game advantage over someone pressing spacebar manually anyhow, so I still don't see a problem.
If anything, it's a disadvantage, as it may cause the player to skip their own turn.
don't know about free packs, but you can schlep on down to your local game store, play the Ravnica Allegiance released draft and get a free Arena Draft coupon on the back of one of the tokens in your draft box.
Should be starting at around the 18th, $30 canadian, or $22 USD.... depends on the store.
i had the dirtiest turn 1 of any game in my life thanks to Amazonian's Play Anything Draft, so that's good.
rhox oracle, blood divination, rise from the grave on rhox, blood divination, salvager of secrets, blood divination, divination,
macabre waltz targeting rhox oracle and salvager, rhox, salvager, blood divination, double mind rot for BM,
emptied my hand of creatures, doublecast into doublecast into doublecast into heroic reinforcements, swing for 50.
i don't ever have to play vintage now! thanks, arena!

I had someone do something similar to that to me only using Liliana’s contract, bounce effects, and other card draw to literally put their entire library into their hand, play all their creatures, doublecast into salvager into doublecast into heroic reinforcements.
Edit: It is significantly less fun from the other end, just waiting and passing priority, staring at the useless cards in my hand as they do nothing for me.
Playing a cobbled-together version of Noxious' land destruction deck. With my one Eldest Reborn I snagged his Vraska. Got her up to 14 loyalty, then I got Angrath out.
Activated Vraska's emblem, used Angrath to steal a creature of theirs, won with Vraska's emblem from that attack.
Whew, that was an exciting game. Opponent got my Angrath with Eldest Reborn, so I had to toss Ixalan's Binding on him to survive. Problem is, that's pretty much my only win condition through damage.
I planned to deck the opponent, but eventually I played two same-turn Eldest Reborn and got their Vivien and Carnage Tyrant on the board, and then they scooped.
Seriously such a clutch game. I had all my land removal in the bottom half of the deck. Thought I'd lose when I pulled two clutch Stars of Extinction.

Hehe, my GW tokens deck has a couple cracks in it that I filled with dumb cards. Thought you had me on the ropes staring down your Lyra/Aurelia combo? Well how about an EOT March of the Multitudes for 7, then a nice spicy Camaraderie on my turn? Good old green Sphinx's Revelation drew 9 cards, gained 9 life, and left me mostly tapped out, right? NOPE, two free Conclave Tribunals to lock up your dumb angels.
Form of the Dinosaur my not be the best card, but it is the best thing to yell at an opponent during a match.

Every time I lose to a bullshit control deck I spend another wildcard on a Carnage Tyrant.
Hey Simic, make more uncounterable creatures! Uncounterable, flash, and hexproof are all in your color pie, you’re primed to fuck over control! Get on it!
Hydroid Krasis XGU
Creature — Jellyfish Hydra Beast (Mythic)
When you cast this spell, you gain half X life and draw half X cards. Round down each time.
Flying, trample Hydroid Krasis enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it. Havoc is a small price to pay for data.

I don't think Hydroid Krasis actually gets there, but I could be wrong. It's either a four mana 2/2 flampler that cantrips or a six mana 4/4 flampler that draws 2 and gains 2. It has game against control since the draw is a cast trigger, and there is some flexibility to pay weird numbers for it, but the actual stats aren't threatening enough to stand up against the other big dumb flyers in the format, or even the phoenixes.

The cast trigger means I like it as a ramp payoff. I love playing ramp but the going in on a big spell is always risky and if it goes wrong you’re super vulnerable, whether it gets countered or Doom Bladed. Ramping into this guy seems very safe by contrast; no matter what, you’re getting cards back and a life buffer if you’re up against a more aggressive deck. The body itself is incidental; this guy is like an inflatable Mulldrifter.
If only he had a jump start card in the graveyard that could have drawn him 2 cards...
If only he wanted to maximize his ability to dig with surveil + EOT opt...
He wasn't running opt. And if he was, the correct play would be to play opt first.
The only explanation I will accept is that he was making intentional misplays to feign incompetence. In that case, dude's a genius. The 3 Hello! and Nice! after every card I played was really selling it.
...sometimes people just don't read the cards. I attacked with my Truefire Captain on a lost game mostly to advance my quests... and the dude blocked it. With Ghalta. Giving me the game.
This seems pretty cool. It'd be useful against decks that only run conclave for removal. Would be very good against white weeny right now. It would also deal with the krasis above pretty well, but you aren't casting that for its body.

Aww, they stuck the “opponent controls” stuff onto the original Detention Sphere. No targeting your own Carnage Tyrant or Treasure token to hit your opponent’s copies.
How are you guys handling the Bo1 format in Arena? Specifically for grinding out constructed events to fill out the playset
I keep having better success just queueing with monoblue tempo jank and abusing greedy misplays than anything else, but izzet decks are SO FUN
Both phoenix and niv/drake stuff just seem like they really want me to be playing Bo3 format in order to shine against most of the field, rather than teching against aggro and getting shut out by jeskai/grixis or teching a little slower and getting blown up by tokens/rdw
Maybe merfolk are the true answer for Bo1 grinding? :rotate:
