    Oh jeeze.

And so much removal nowadays specifies things that you don’t own.

yeah, if you're depending on Conclave Tribunal/Ixalan's Binding for enchantment removal, you're out of luck.

More dedicated effects like Knight of Autumn still work, but outside of that, it could be a tough one to shake.

To be nitpicky: those enchantments (and things like Assassin's Trophy) affect permanents you don't control, which is why they don't work against Captive Audience.

Whereas a (much rarer) effect like Venser, the Sojourner's +2 can affect something you own, meaning it began the game in your deck. If you were running Breya as your commander you could totally Captive Audience someone and then reset it after three rounds with Venser.

Huh, that's actually an interesting question; Venser says put it back in play under your control, Captive Audience says it enters under the control of an opponent of your choice.

looks like the owner just picks which one to apply (616.1)

I don't get why Boros Aggro is supposed to be so good (running this netdeck 1 for 1: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1561084#paper)

I'm playing in Traditional Bo3, and it feels so slow and tiny and fragile. Any deck with removal or good combat tricks will shut you down unless you get a real good Heroic Reinforcements, or they just draw like shit. I've lost very badly to Selesnya Tokens, Red Aggro, Jeskai, and Pirates so far, 0 wins

Ultimately, though, I know I'm missing something here, because the deck is obviously(?) good in Bo3. I just got blown up by a pirate meme deck, except for one game where I just curved perfectly, he had no removal, and I got a turn 4 Heroic, and I'm not sure how to pilot this any differently. I also got slapped around by a Boros Mentor deck running stuff like Sunhome Steward and Goblin Banneret over the "go wide, hit Heroic" gameplan, but that was in Bo1, where that type of deck is probably way better off

The biggest offender here seems like Venerated Loxodon of all things, which has done jack shit for me so far.

I am not a huge fan of unmoored ego (especially those times I specifically forget to look through their library, or the check the library and GY)

But playing against a Teferi Nexus/Teferi drake deck and removing their only real win conditions is such a nice thing.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Also I guess it's time to turn in my badge.

I lost to a dude by getting decked because he used Exlopsion/Expansion and made me draw 9 cards. And prior to that turn I chose teferi to grab with my thief instead of grabbing and sitting on his "draw two cards" spell with flashback.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Seems pretty good, beefy at least, and potential for good card advantage.

Still, it can't kill Captive Audience!

Polis Crusher is always an underrated gem in a lot of my EDH decks that include RG, but the casting cost on Sunder Shaman is pretty brutal for a not even guarenteed chance.

I like a good Shallow Grave, but depending on opponent's creatures is always a gamble.

    Enchantment - Aura
    Flash

    Enchant Creature

Enchanted creature gets +1/+2 and Vigilance.

Addendum: If you cast this spell during your main phase, enchanted creature gains lifelink until end of turn.

    Pretty decent combat trick

Not really a constructed card but in draft I'm not going to argue with a 3/3 for 3 with a bonus.

    regenesis.jpg
Regrowths aren't usually worth the trouble, but instant-speed plus selection pushes this a bit closer to the Inspiration/Jace's Ingenuity level.

    cavalcadeofcalamity.jpg
Huh... could do something with Goblin tokens and the last part of Flame of Keld? Though it's pretty win-more at that point.
edit: I guess this helps turn on Spectacle with blockers in the way, though running your small guys into blockers can run out quick

I wouldn't be so quick to write off the spirit, it could be a sideboard card for mono-red/rakdos aggro.

    It's me, I <3 mill because I'm terrible.

    22x Lands
    4x Drowned Secrets
    2x Psychic Corrosion
    4x Teferi
    14x Persistent Petitioners
4x Cleansing Nova (or settle the wreckage)
4x Absorb (or other counterspell perhaps)
    4x Ixalan's Binding
    2x Syncopate (or other counterspells)

Or something like this? @milski is saying maybe drop the sweepers and enchants and teferi and go for more lifegain and protection but I dunno.

not much info, just a title card. But! There's a greenish color scheme and some vague cityscape art, so... continuing the Ravnica storyline, I assume.

WotC is asking certain stores to play Quick Drafts for the month of February.

Because Arena players "love" quick draft so much.

When does WotC usually do the full spoiler for the set? I would assume it would be within the next day, since the PPR is tomorrow, but I'm still relatively new to tracking spoiler season.

Will be up tomorrow before PPR.

It went up earlier than usual last time due to World Championships falling on that weekend, pushing PPR to Wednesday. Friday before PR is the norm.

Just for the scry effect, probably not.

However, the threat of activation on that thing is very strong. It's like having a Bloodtallow Candle out, but for any permanent. It'll at least make them hold back most bombs so you don't steal it, hoping you'll take their second-best card. And while they're waiting, you get the scry bonus.

And late game you have the potential to rip a 9-mana Confiscate with a slight drawback. There are worse fail states.
