The demo is Leon only, but since it's revealed that
    Hunk and Tofu are in
I think it's safe to assume that the whole scenario A/B thing is back, and you can play as both Leon and Claire.

I wonder what that means for my copy of Destiny that runs through the b.net thing

nothing, Blizzard has already said it will continue to run through Battle.net. It would be exteremly difficult to change that, as B.net isn't just the launcher it also runs the game's matchmaking, networking, chat system, etc.

Oh also after Forsaken (aka now) Destiny 2 is the best it's ever been IMO

I'm really curious about the RE2 remake, although I kind of doubt it can play on my computer.

I played the RE1 remake (the first time I've ever played the game) this past fall, and I liked it a bunch. I didn't play with the tank controls there, but you're still dealing with the weird angles and stuff, and while it can be disorienting and confusing sometimes, I think that they did a really good job of heightening the horror. There were some really clever shots, shots that either made it difficult or made me nervous, and I came out enjoying it a bunch overall.

Which has me a bit apprehensive with RE2. I understand switching out of that format, and it the half measure of RE1 is very weird and can cause more confusion that just getting used to tank controls might have. But I also think that part of its status as an actual horror game might have depended on not being fully in control.

I had the very same concerns when it was announced that it wouldn't be like the RE1 remake, because that's what I thought I wanted. And I still do, but the demo convinced me - the environments look beautiful (I'm curious how and what changed), and the gameplay feels very survival horror. Zombies take a bunch of bullets, your knife breaks, inventory space is limited, etc. I mean, who knows, maybe the demo is a big fakeout and the final game is a RE4 like action game, but I doubt it.

btw playing the REmake without tank controls is sinful

Like, I'll probably still play it. It's not like I'd be unhappy with another late series RE game.

I guess my real thing is that as someone who has never played the original, I'm not sure if playing the remake will... count, I guess? Which sounds dumb when I say it out loud.

That's a fucking shitter all around but
Callender’s suit was filed one month after Gearbox sued him, in a separate case, for fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. Gearbox alleged that Callender borrowed money from Gearbox for a home loan and tuition that he did not pay back in full, and that Callender “abused the privilege of credit card access by charging unapproved, wholly personal expenses, including family vacations, gun club memberships and firearms accessories, and trying to get six-pack abs.” Gearbox also accused Callender of destroying evidence of the home loan agreement he made with the studio. You can read that suit in full below.

that quote right there is fucking hilarious

Having played the original is probably a bonus. I get that need though, I'm often the same way when it comes to remakes. It is weird that the old games haven't simply been dumped on Steam

Apropos of nothing, I read something yesterday that I must have missed when it happened: THQ Nordic bought the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur? Including Copernicus and all its assets? That's weird!

And today on RPS I saw they bought the rights to Outcast. Hm!

It feels like they've bought the rights too half of the industry's dead or dormant ip at this point.

Yeah, I think they bought the Amalur rights late November 2018(?)

I'm really glad RPGs grew out of the whole "You're low level so you should constantly fail at the most mundane of tasks." Wizardry 8 is just a miserable slog of a game.

    I've been playing Crosscode.

I want to finish it, but the further into it I get, the less enjoyable the combat gets.

Early on I could just attack and sometimes there'd be enemies that have to be hit in the back or with ranged attacks. As the game went on bosses started requiring more and more precision. One boss fight I got annoyed and dropped the difficulty to enemies doing 20% damage and it still took me two tries after that. Foolishly I set it back to 100% afterwards, but now I'm thinking I should just drop it down again for the rest of the game. Because now there are these bug samurai enemies and they are fucking murdering me.

If your gear isn't up to date, you're gonna be in for a rough time. Same with not eating food. I'd make sure your gear's better than what's buyable, and you're using spicy buns (cheap +10% attack) items for encounters, and you'll feel SO much better.

I did have one point where I was having trouble and noticed that my gear was lower level than the enemies, though right now I'm at an appropriate level. Not sure how big a difference it makes that I don't have anything from the trade vendors.

This is a game where +6 attack is hugely noticeable.

that distinction extremely doesn't matter in any significant ways

The law, psychology, child protective services, care organization for victims of sexual abuse would vehemently disagree

quick addendum: I cannot stand it when people lump all that together, because it relativizes and diminishes the severity of sexual abuse of children. I not only worked with victims of sexual abuse (as children, mind), xx xxx xxxx xxxxxx xxxx, and the casual way with which such accusations are not just thrown out there, but especially the implied equivalence of the multitude of possibilities of what allegedly was on that usb stick with literal child rape I cannot deal with.

    Anyway, video games.

Fortnite maker Epic Games earns 'F' rating from Better Business Bureau

granted, it's not clear how many of the complaints are just raging gamers, but the credit card stuff (together with the GDPR issues) make ever more skeptical about Epic's practices
