Salvador Larroca decided to trash the colorist for his pencils on Uncanny X-Men, Rachelle Rosenberg, on his Facebook:
“My editor already showed these (pages) with a horrible colour, I prefer to show them in black and white, which I prefer indefinitely more. A publisher such as Marvel with so terrible colorists… A woman, in this case.”
(Translated from Spanish)
He later edited out the statement about Rosenberg being a woman, which is pretty telling.
Super professional from the dude that has been tracing Star Wars screen caps for the past 3 years.
It amazes me that on the one hand, Marvel has some amazing creators with multiple books that I should legitimately be excited about....
But on the other hand, editorial/management and other creators are bags of crap that make Marvel this huge trash fire that doesn't seem like it will go out any time soon.
I'm just so tired of it. My enthusiasm for comics has dropped so much that I can't even just focus on the good stuff anymore.

Is there like, a background for the heavy emphasis on there being a cat in the Captain Marvel marketing?

Without the "a woman, in this case", I would have said "What a shitty move". As it is, I'll skip straight to "What a shitty person".
I'm curious, what would be the proper response in a scenario like this? Publicly announcing support for the badmouthed colorist? Publicly denouncing the statement of the penciller with the bad mouth? Flat-out firing Larroca? Laying out a code of behavior that includes not trashing co-workers?
Marvel announced the obligatory Event Anthology tie-in for War of the Realms, War Scrolls.
This time, however, the lead story is written by Jason Aaron himself (starring Daredevil who has been granted Heimdall's sight) with Andrea Sorrentino on art, and the first issue will have a Howard the Duck reunion from Zdarsky and Quinones
It is the only one they've done since Secret Wars that feels like they actually put in any effort in making it feel like a naturally occuring storyline
Funny how that happens when you give a writer 8 years to build up to a big story
Did Best Defense count as an event? I quite liked that one (then again, with 5 issues total, it could also be seen as a single mini done by a ton of creators).

Not really, it was really more of a mini as you said
It was a weirdly structured one but 5 one-shots that all bleed into each other ain't really an event

SWAT Kats is absolutely one of the supporting pillars that my entire childhood is built on.
I love that show.

Spider-Man still has a bunch of villains who are more interested in busting a bank vault than they are ruling the world and that's why he has the best rogues gallery in Marvel comics
I think he easily has the best rogues gallery of any superhero. I know people are fond of Batman's, but Spidey has a good variety, and a pretty deep bench. And Green Goblin and Doc Ock are as good as you're gonna get for archvillains

Carol prominantly having a cat has been a thing since she became Captain Marvel.
Now if Marvel doesn't have any sort of response to this (which there is a VERY GOOD CHANCE they won't) then it is Marvel fuck-up

She got the cat in her 2006 solo. She found it in a burning building while fighting a wizard.
Unrelated, how do you feel about SWAT Kats?
I mean just look and listen to this shit:

That's what makes them radical.
I love that show.
It was one of the first original cartoons on Cartoon Network!
At least, I think it was one of their original cartoons.
