I knew it was coming but ugh no more gritty takes on kids books please.

So is watching True Detective season 2 worth it or is it just kinda bad?

Everything I have ever heard says just skip season 2.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
the only interesting thing about true detective season 2 is that the cast is made up of failed leading men

Season 3's been pretty good so far, honestly if you want to see more stuff like True Detective or just more currently running stuff I would definitely suggest that
I liked S2 of True Detective just fine. However it was trying to follow one of the best seasons of dramatic television and it did not have the chops to be that act.

True Detective Season 1 taught me about synesthesia which ended up being helpful for me to describe how I know when an IV has hit a vein sufficiently.

i found true detective season one completely incoherent
perhaps if i'd known that at the start rather than having to waste my brainpower throughout i would have enjoyed it more
remember the
long tracking shot / house raid? did that have any relevance to the broader plot whatsoever?
the whole season felt like a series of episode-long narrative cul-de-sacs
it was a case study in all style, no substance
Yes actually.
The entire story up until then had been building and amping up the pressure. Cohle had relapsed and hart was getting worse in just being the shittiest person. The case was building into something more horrific than anyone expected. For the viewer all the mysteries and plot were becoming a sunken nightmare. That whole part mirrored the cramped, clostrophoic feel of the show at that point, and when it ends, there is a tangible release from both the characters and the audience. Well until a nick cave song smashes on
I made the mistake of watching the while season a few months ago while tripping on acid and this part left me a spiralling mess so I may not be the best judge though

Umbrella is basically Game of Thrones but nobody is good so it could be really interesting.
They uh don't exist post Racoon City though.

Shoulda just made a new character called Renewa Show.
Also the latest episode was guest hosted by Jason Manzoukas (hope I spelled that right)
You didn't! But that's OK! You tried your best!
2. Last half-season of BSG
3. True Detective season 2
4. Last season of Sons of Anarchy
It's been a while since I could recall anything but the ending, so I won't say the last season of Sons of Anarchy is worse
Steam
what to watch next, huh
Season 3?
this is a pretty sick burn on Rachel McAdams

Oh, I'm expecting A++ entertainment from Peach.
has it all aired yet?
Only on episode 3 atm.
I did not really like it either but that is mostly due to my dislike of Matthew McConaughey.
It's totally different than S1 but I found it entertaining enough. YMMV.
Conversely, S1 turned my dislike for Matthew McConaughey into grudging respect.
that movie has problems but none of them were his fault
I thought he did a great job
He's out of his damn mind and loving every moment of it.
It’s not made fun of enough that the gritty burned-out detective is named “rust, coal”
perhaps if i'd known that at the start rather than having to waste my brainpower throughout i would have enjoyed it more

edit: i think it was just the combination of meaningless pseudo-philosophical dialogue with such meaningless plot developments that irked me so much
