I had a few from that viewpoint with different subjects moving through the frame, but none of them turned out the way I liked it like the pedestrian did.

Same here.
t Sheri, that last one and the one with all the girders are my favorite so far. Beautiful gradient on the water.

I was going to post some shots I took around the city today during my lunch break at school but then I realized the lens I used, the 28-105mm f4 lens I got for $130 when I bought my camera is complete garbage compared to the 50mm f1.8 I'd been using for the past few weeks and I don't even want to post them. Time to save up for a new lens.

These are some photos I took while in Plymouth and at a Lake near me. I used a Faux Tilt Shift effect to make them look like miniature models. Best view'd big.
Yeah, I think I'll probably just get progressively worse.
Oh shush you. If you keep taking pictures and posting and getting help from everyone you'll improve.
Fresh: The super unfocused part in your pictures really bothers me. It just look way too underfocused. I could understand it being a little fuzzy, but that just strikes me as a little awkward.
I definitely like the miniature model feel though!

I think it works better for the first one, though whatever method you're using, the top part is distractingly blurred.
I understand the mechanics of tilt shift focus, but it still fucks with my head the way the end effect looks.

don't worry about it, just experiment.
I use paper towels or white napkins mostly.
And you're shooting in digital anyways, right? So you get a million do-overs

rad as fuck.
Danke mucho.
I realized that I've really learned/grown a lot over the past few months after looking through some old shots.
I doubt it, just keep shooting.
. . . Man, just post them anyway. :P

Great shots, I've just seen so much smoke lately.
That being said, those shots are awesome.
