I thought they want you to be quick and not take much damage?
That always seems to get me a big boost to my mural score, but if I want a high score from the fight it seems to help if I wait until they're over 100% before I finish them.

I can pretty much play whenever, I'm still pretty big on this game

It's a better idea to just like, schedule smash nights or whatnot and have Tournaments be an infrequent thing to avoid burnout.

I got the game a little while back but I haven’t gotten the gumption to head online yet.
I’ve been playing with an ersatz pro controller but do people generally find that the new wireless GameCube style controllers work better for smash?

Would it be easier for everyone to try to schedule if it was set a bit further ahead and less frequently? Like, maybe once a month, with the date determined a month ahead of time?

Just don't make it the last weekend of the month, because that's when the IRL local tourney I wanna go to is : P

It can be hard to keep these things going for months straight; it's a lot of time to invest for every player involved
Maybe after this week it would be good to take a little break!
Well, dang. I'd best sign up this time, then.
I've been meaning to each week, but never got around to it, for a variety of reasons.

I've got a confirmation l conflict this week but I'll usually be around
Maybe we can try pushing it to 7pst to try and get more of the PST group on? It's a bit late on the east coast but if we're going to take that hit Saturday is the day to do it
I can't decide which Side B to use for Swordfighter. The chakram is legitimately a great projectile, and has some setups and combo potential with the slow version, and B reversing it is great for helping them get down. But the other options help their recovery by so much. I'm worried about solely relying on the Link up+b to recover.
It's a shame that their second one, which is kinda like Ike's side B, doesn't work the same way. They still goes into freefall if they run into someone, so you can edgeguard them by basically body-blocking it. It even fails to grab the edge if someone else is edgehogging.

Hey y'all, just a reminder: tournament tomorrow at 7PM! Don't forget to sign up, and also that check-ins start an hour before the fighting

Which is reasonable I guess, this is about how long we were able to keep regular tournaments running in Smash 4
and next week I'm definitely out because I'm moving
Eh they'll probably spike when new characters release

I really wish I could be a regular participant!
West Coast x Bad Schedule = Limited Options
But I would like to continue smashing with y’all.

Gamecube controllers were almost literally designed to play Smash with.
They are so conducive to the game that even now, 3 generations later, they still are making GC controllers and adapters.
how much gamecube controller muscle memory do you have?
that's basically the guiding metric there.
edit: i'm an absolute pleb smashing on joycons tho
repeated short hops are slightly more difficult on joycons because they're not as well-braced
I would love to do a tourney but its hard to line it up with the time picked

Being not very good at the game means you're in good company.
