Burritos: We used to go to a place by the harbor that would put a big flour tortilla in a bread pan, pile all your burrito makings on top, then cover it with another tortilla and cheese, and sauce of you wanted.
    It was divine.

Hard boiled eggs: They're fine, but soft boiled eggs are the way and the light. I've started smashing them onto my toast, and it's like having the perfect amount of yolk in every bite.
Peeling can sometimes get a little messy, but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

All boiled eggs are perfect children.

    Not literally of course.

    Ha-cha-chacha-cha.

Please remind me not to buy Pringles again.

Ate the entire tube, and each one I was waiting for that nice sodium sting but never got it. They were just... nothing.

I don't mind eating some garbage if it has good flavor or texture or something, but these were just pressed potato shavings.

how much potato is in pringles, anyway

    aren't they mostly corn puff?

nah they're made from a batter of primarily potato flour

I eschewed buying a bag of 18 supermarket cookies for $2.50 on the grounds that I only wanted one, singular cookie, and having another 17 around would either be a waste or (more likely) a way to make myself feel sick and fat.
Instead I bought a single cookie for the same damn price from a boutique bakery on the way back to work. It turned out to be vegan, and was disappointing in every possible way.

This story covers everything wrong with America.

Overpriced and terrible vegan bakeries can't possibly be unique to the US.

just because this is a problem endemic to most western societies doesn't mean I can't blame it exclusively on the loudest.

also the main problem was not the existence or price of the bakery, but my original inability to buy a single normal goddamn cookie.

That was the other reason I didn't want 17 cookies sitting around. The office building has a mouse infestation and they've already eaten a worrying amount of chocolate and ramen.

I don't want to contribute to the local rodent diabetes epidemic.

I'm waiting for an UberEats delivery to finish cooking right now at a pizza place in the hip Fairfax/Melrose neighborhood and they're literally turning people away because they can't keep up with the pace of orders because of the Superb Owl. That's wild to me.
