Which also shows if Epic have any certification or testing procedures. Guess not!
I mean, the problem didn't show up until you reached the area where the sound effect was needed, so even if you started up the game and played for a bit to check if it was working you might not encounter it. Expecting a storefront to test if a game starts and runs is one thing, expecting them to play everything from start to finish before allowing it to release is another.
Never turn your back on a cat, even when you're out walking a dog.
Thanks for the Valkyria Chronicles 4 DLC! It really seems to be a return to form as 1, anime as fuq, hitting serious subjects, fun gameplay with mortars now added in.
I'm sure I won't be brought to tears again, nope. No siree.
On the indie game theme. I'm nearing the end of Steam World Heist. I've got just a couple missions to finish 3*ing, before hitting the final mission(s?). After bouncing off it the first time I played it, I'm really hooked. It's such "one more mission" crack.
One thing that is really fun for me personally is that the soundtrack is by Steampowered Giraffe. They are out of San Diego and I remember seeing them at the zoo years ago. Fun to not just hear them, but also see them as background characters in the bars.
Ironically:
-The issue had to be crowdsourced on the Steam forums, due to the lack of support forums in the Epic Store
-The developer forgot to delete a file actually related to Steamworks:
GOTY - PubG (lol)
VR GOTY - TES: Skyrim
Labor of Love - GTA5
Best Developer - CDPR
Best Environment - Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Better with Friends - R6: Siege
Best Alternative History - AC: Odyssey
Most Fun with a Machine - Rocket League
Why are games that came out years ago getting awards? That makes no sense.

Depends how you determine what deserves to be GOTY I suppose. Whether or not you like the game or BlueHole as a dev, PUBG has had a massive cultural impact, both directly and through making the Battle Royale genre into a thing and allowing Fortnite to become the media juggernaut that it is.
Like 'em or hate 'em, those games are the most successful games to have ever existed.
It's like every developer saw what was happening with PUBG and Fortnite and suddenly lost their fucking minds chasing after all that $$$ and dumping eighty different ones on Steam all at the same time.
But yeah, Koopah is right. No way that should have been GOTY for Steam. There are bargain-bin porny puzzle games that deserve that title more than that- about the only thing I think PUBG's good for is keeping Bluehole- and through them, TERA- afloat. Maybe it- and Fortnite- they're also good for keeping all the asshole Twitch streamers and their toxic fanbases out of other games.
AC: Odyssey, or any of the other titles nominated- deserves it more than a two-year-old BR game.

That's how it goes in the industry in general, though. Few years back every game was gonna be a MOBA, before that, MMOs, etc....
Whatever is a breakout hit is gonna get clones.

Anyone have a rough estimate of time for CrossCode completion? Trying to plan out stuff to buy for this sale to celebrate a newer year, though really it's probably just the same year with a new paint of coat.

It took me 57 hours to get 100%
Though I think they added stuff since then? I'm waiting for NG+ to be added so I can play through it again.

I'm not a big fan of PUBG being labeled as GOTY because a)it was released in 2017, and b)it's the barebones version of a battle royale, even if it is the first of it's kind. Like Apex Legends came out on Tuesday and it already has a million concurrent players while PUBG floats around 500k, but people will circle jerk on both sides both for and against PUBG without a proper reason for either just because it's cool to bandwagon.
If we were going for most popular game of 2018, why not just call it that instead of Game of the Year? I would not disagree that PUBG is the most popular game on Steam, the graphs are right there.
But again, these are the Steam awards, not the PC Gaming awards so can't really expect anything else.

The issue I have is that when I think of a "game of the year", I think of something released within that year whose quality outshines other products released within the same year.

Going to be honest, a lot of times I actually have a hard time nominating things that came out in the right year due to being so far behind/waiting for good sales.
But yeah, could have limited it to stuff that actually came out in 2018. Crazy notion I know.
I feel so bad for devs that have a passion project game and then it doesn't even go to the New Releases tab. I had to go to "all new releases" for it to even show up.

Eh, it seems to me that stuff releasing in the tail end of the year would be at a disadvantage, not having had a chance to get reviews, streamers, and word of mouth out. Nothing released in December could even get nominated.
PUBG did release in in late December 2017, but obviously it was already super popular in Early Access and won a Steam Award in 2017. Valve didn't have GOTY awards until this time, though.

To be fair, Steam's just amount to "does the .exe actually run." It's one of the biggest areas in which Steam drops the ball.
This time it is Another Lost Phone
Many thanks!

EVERYBODY WANTS TO SIT IN THE BIG CHAIR, MEG!
I loooove gridder dungeon crawlers.
But I hate when they are real time combat instead of turned based.
And yet, I MUST have this. It looks amazing.

That reminds me, Talespin NES is on Steam via Disney Afternoon Collection.

It's a pure popularity contest, PUBG is still among the most popular non-Valve games on Steam, what the hell were you expecting?
