my problem with melting the star wars toys is that they're pretty openly doing it to appeal to a very specific kind of goose
Yeah i don't care about the toys, i care that the crowd that's going to enjoy the reason they're doing it is the "sjws have ruined Star Wars" crowd. And fuck that crowd.
It's a sequel to their (very good imo) previous acetone video. And like most sequels it's the same but bigger for the sake of being bigger, more indulgent and lacking the heart and focus. And it's open ended for the possibility of even more sequels.

I remember that game as a kid. I remember trying in vain to find out if like someone said then it was a real cartoon
I think still they were spreading rumors and mistruths to distract me as they sucked at it and I was good but it was a twitch fest of a game
It really was (I mean, it was done by Don Bluth), but that illustrated the whole problem with the LD games - the technology didn't really add anything to the game. So you got either glorified QTE sequences, or the LD just used to generate a background (e.g. FireFox).
The only games format that really did anything with an LD of note was the extremely rare MegaLD format for the Pioneer LaserActive/Genesis combo:
The big takeaway is that it demonstrates how poisonous "engagement" is as a metric without any further context. YouTube was radicalizing people because that increased engagement, and that was all it was designed to do.

it's weird because i agree but the title is also incredibly disparaging. it's kind of mixed.
but anyway the last jedi is either the best numbered star wars or the second best depending on my mood that day, and I really don't care if other people like it or not. melt your star wars toys dude, more power to you
my main concern with episode ix is JJ dialing the direction they were going way back and just doing Return Again

They're describing themself as a "pathetic manchild" for doing this so I don't think this is necessarily meant to be taken as straightforward criticism of the movies. Even if it is meant to be taken seriously, I think it's fine for them to not like the movie and joke about it without it having to be some nefarious appeal to the antagonist of a social narrative.

Given the crossover that we've seen between with criticism of TLJ and the alt-right, I have to disagree there. It's not okay to feed into toxic narratives being used to recruit people into the alt-right.
Life is shit, capitalism is bad, but stuff actually makes people feel good though? It's a pretty basic human condition that people form emotional attachments to stuff, considering we've been doing it since before 700BC. Sometimes it's just because that stuff makes them feel good or it helps remind them of something, or that having that stuff fills a void left in them by the emptiness of existence and the knowledge that everything is simply a moment in the endless march of time that crosses the endless void of reality where the only meaning is what we choose and can defend against people who choose to cover their own meanings in barbs of opposition to other forms of meaning as an attempt to present their own meaning as above all others.
Also, can I visit the ivory tower sometime? You must have a great view!
i have personally destroyed the only remaining copy of your favourite toy
You destroyed my block of wood that had "Toy" written on it?
(we were poor)
Legit one of my most prized possessions as a kid was a squared-off log like you'd get from just splitting wood with an axe. It had a knot sticking up so that it looked like a battleship. That thing was the centerpiece of most of my action figure battles.
This reminded me of a daily show between the scenes with Trevor Noah talking about his favorite toy as a child.
I think the between the scenes clips are much better than the actual show, even when he's talking about the same kinds of topics as are current on the show.
The Kenner toy company produced a line of Star Wars action figures based on characters in the original Star Wars movie trilogy. Over 100 unique action figures were produced and sold from 1978 to 1985, during which time over 300 million Star Wars action figures were sold.
You could have given a starwars toy to every single person in US and still have left overs
the rlm video is almost certainly intended to be parodical, but i think it's a miss as a parody. it's only really enjoyable to the people they're parodying. there's not really a lot of outlandish novelty to seeing a bulk $50 lot of plastic get melted down into more plastic. maybe if it had been more outlandish and they'd jumped through more hoops
I scored a 34 on the ACT and when accused of cheating I was forced to take it again I got a 36. On the SAT I got a 1450 score and I joined Corps because of the lack of prospects and just how the senior councilor went out of her way to make sure I did not get anything from it. They were not happy of the fact I did so well on those tests and I was going to College while still in high school.

Look man, if you're promising me you're going to melt a bunch of action figures you had better do more than I was able to do with a lighter and a can of spray paint as a child. Leave those things in a fish tank of acetate until it's a grey cube you can fittingly leave a Han Solo sticking out of.
He's doing a soft reboot of his channel so he's releasing all his left over stuff from last year in quick succession. There's supposed to be four videos in all.
more work needs to be put into actually creating interesting, taste-rich bug recipes
I mean, we already got cricket flour cookies.
Also, as chefs, why would they not look at how they're served in the places that already eat them? Not just like 1 for 1 their recipies, but look at the flavor profiles used and build a recipe around it instead of just chucking them in mac & cheese?

I mean it's stuff that's worth money.
They could have sold them and donated it.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

I find it fascinating how the cells of an organism know how to make an eye. I think that is the real question we should be asking.

And even then, it really just added better resolution video, similar to the Saturn's MPEG-1 decoder card addon.
So, in other news, this Twitter thread on the recent changes to YouTube's recommendation engine is worth a read:
