How do you approach someone, or a small group of people, who are willing to take a 60 million dollar payout while firing hundreds of people
Isn't it accurate, at a certain point, to call that evil? It's not a crime, but shouldn't it, in fact, be a crime? Isn't hurting countless people to enrich yourself clearly morally repulsive? Is it not a crime on a far greater scale than say, mugging someone? Why is punching one person in the face and taking a hundred bucks off them a crime, but this isn't? Is the face punch the important part? Is physical violence that much more criminal than social and economic violence? Why? Does one measurably do more harm than the other? Shouldn't we say to someone who does something this foul "You are going to prison, and we are taking all of your money. You should have know that this was wrong. There is no defense for this action. You are an evil person and should be put somewhere where you cannot continue to be evil"

the non-guillotine solution here is to organize the games industry and strike companies like EA and Activision into the fucking dirt

this is how most big companies work
labor is their biggest cost, cutting that looks good for stockholders and might lead to buybacks, which is something that stockholders always want, because stockholders are collectively dumb as hell
anyone who's lived north of Seattle knows this story, Boeing pulls that shit every few years
Wait. They increased their cash by a factor of 1000 in a year. I'm....I'm a bit boggled by that.

"Cash" on a balance sheet is complicated. My bet is that their overall position hasn't changed that much but the difference is magnified by some large transaction(s). Did they buy any studios in Q4 '17? That would explain them temporarily having very little cash on hand.
And he never had to deal with overwatch/wow players

the good news is that the AAA game cycle is likely facing an imminent collapse because the development cycle combined with costs and this sort of behavior isn't fucking sustainable
