[MCU] Far From Home Is Close At Hand (Endgame Spoilers All Up Ins)

So there have been a lot of Marvel movies. They're overall pretty dang great. They're broken up into phases, like this (links go to trailers):

    Let me know if there's more shit I should add. Or if there's a trailer/poster you like a lot more. I couldn't watch all the trailers and select the choicest ones since that would be basically the length of a movie. I did not use the official Homecoming main poster because it's fucking terrible. Maybe I should provide a short synopses of each movie. "Iron Man is about a rich asshole who almost dies and decides to stop being an asshole. Makes a robot suit to fight his dad's friend with."

    I love the way the Phase 3 posters progress while scrolling. From serious business to so much neon Studio 54 would find it gauche.

    The original Iron Man is still one of my favorites. Both Guardians posters are also very good, as well as Ragnarok and Infinity War. I guess I like the neon.

    I’ve been using one of the other Infinity War posters as my phone’s background for a while. Part of me wants to switch to the Endgame poster (it’s basically the same symbol, minus the dusting), part of me doesn’t quite want that connection every time I glance at it.

    ... or I could just be a full blown jerk to myself and have the IW full A as the lock screen, and the dusting A as the home screen.

    Annnnd now I’m pondering trolling myself.

    First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!

    Man I'm so excited for more Spidey and also so fearful about what's gonna happen when time comes for Marvel and Sony to sit down and figure out what happens after the dust settles. I know Marvel is kinda gonna move on to new stories and characters after Endgame and I'm worried Sony is gonna let Venom go to their heads and pull Spidey back.

    Apparently. They were about to start pre-production on it, the script had been completed and things were about to start rolling and then they shut it all down. The plan now is to make it 'later', but it has no release date, no director and it's unclear if the script Gunn delivered will be used. If they don't use Gunn's script Bautista at least has publicly said he doesn't want to do it.

    So yes, it's still in the works, officially, but the longer it goes on without advancing down the production pipeline the less likely it is to ever come out.

    If I have more time tonight I might do some sort of massive March Madness style trailers bracket where we all vote on the trailers to see which one is the best of all time. It's kind of hard to definitively find how many trailers there were for each movie. As far as I can tell the original Iron Man had exactly one trailer which seems wrong but maybe ten years ago there was only one trailer for movies.

    That's a pretty awful poster. I especially dislike how it has the Washington Monument on the right so it actually kind of looks like it's part of the Manhattan skyline that's filling up most of the rest of the horizontal space there.

    Last thing I heard on GotG 3 was something from Waititi saying that he definitely wasn't going to direct it. I think it was in response to rumors on the subject. Which is smart because that gig is a poisoned chalice if there ever was one.

    Also, if you're going to put almost everyone on the poster, how about instead of putting all three supers and their costumes on, and a guy who's only got like three minutes of screen time and does nothing of consequence (Logan Marshall Green aka Shocker 1), you include the best friend who is a major impact throughout the movie, and without who the hero would fail leading up to the final showdown?

    Can't put a plus-sized guy on the poster, I guess.

    The poster just has a lot of elements that look out of place and just tossed in there. Oh let's throw in the Washington Monument. Oh and also let's have fucking Iron Man flying around. And then also it's on fire and there's a purple explosion for some reason. And let's put a tiny vulture on there since that suit's in the movie.

    I cannot find it on youtube. It doesn't help that "Iron Man Trailer 2" just comes up with Iron Man 2 trailers.

    In my mind, we'd take each movie and select the best trailer from each in the preliminary rounds, and then pit them against each other for the official title of "BEST MARVEL TRAILER OF ALL TIME (FOR NOW)"
