ElvUI and weakauras are good in that they're customizable, but also easily exportable, so if you find one you like that another player uses, you can just use their settings. There are entire sites dedicated to people posting their UI setups for other people to use.
there's also bigwigs + littlewigs which are kind of, standard and almost required dungeon and raiding addons
some people like dbm but really dbm can eat my whole ass
gladius is really helpful for arenas
tomtom is super useful for just finding things, also there's maybe a better coordinate addon i don't know about? i disable a lot of tomtom features because i find it annoying

Jury is currently out but since disabling Details the freezes dropped in frequency, and since disabling Auctioneer they've stopped completely. If they happen again, Bartender4 is eating the door, but I'll be a sad fucking panda about it.

I cant stand the default UI because it puts all the information I want to look at constantly a mile away from the center of the screen where im looking. Like my health bar. I compulsively watch my health bar because if it ever hits 0 everyone dies. And if im moving my health bar to the middle I ought to move target and targets target there too. And then why not make them a little bigger and also show me % and the raw number so I can check phases but also exactly how much HP a thing has. And then I probably need to make sure all the relevant debuffs are showing at all times and wow now im 3 hours into fucking around with elvui huh.

We dont use angryassignments but it lets the raid leader put a note on everyones screen. It was useful for fights where you have set groups doing things at set times. Like on ghuun when we were orb running you could put the orb runners and their orb # on everyones screen so no one has to ask halfway through the fight "Who was doing this orb????"
Capping lets you see when BG stuff will flip control. I cannot stand not knowing this information. I was actually baffled it wasnt a thing by default? People have to fucking ask in team chat how long it will take for IBGY to cap or whatever and its dumb? So I got capping instead.

Weakauras (recently re-added this and started tinkering with it. Used this a bunch last time I raided in Cata)
Decursive (still useful, better than relying on the default UI for viewing/getting rid of debuffs)
I turn all direct healing spells into Mouseover Macros (but thats the default UI)
Also, finally got around to writing macros to auto- trigger both of my on-use trinkets. That macro is surprisingly long if you want it to suppress the error when the trinket is on cooldown. If anyone wants it, msg me.
oh yeah, method dungeon tools seems to be extremely useful for timing m+ but luckily i get by being lazy and not installing it because the tanks are the ones who need to know the route, i just follow and dot
Tank buff trackers/procs in the middle, cooldowns under that, the skull bar thing is for necrotic stacks, the flagons of beer on the left are for the Freehold bartender brews on the second boss, and mysterious grey bar question mark near the beer becomes an interrupt tracker in dungeons.
Well people who wanted 10s all vanished! I'm looking at you @Bucketman@Dys and maybe @Angry for that massive melee scrum. Anyway Shirls and I are online now wondering where the fuck you all went.

Thanks for putting up with my glitching ass tonight.
I'm working on my install at the moment, I think I have some stuff figured out, but I need some time to test it before I put people's keys on the line again.
So yesterday was basically the only day that I could have raided and picked anything up, so I spent time trying to pug whatever I could. Ended up having one of the best raiding weeks ever. Got into a terrible heroic group that has difficulty killing the champion, but got the 400 ilvl gauntlets for my trouble.
Then i got into a normal group, we cleared through conclave, and I got the helm from jade masters and the one handed healing weapon from opulence with a socket upgrade.
Overall got my ilvl to 384, felt really good.
I’m sure next week when I can raid again all the pugs will be asking for 410 ilvl but right now I feel at least like I’m in a good spot.
I have two 395 haste crit rings. Got a 425 versatility mastery ring from a +9 TD, sims 0.02% less than one of my rings (the teleport to Boralus one) and 0.43% less than my other one.
Versatility is garbage.
I think I'll hang on to it for the once in a blue moon pvp i do though.

but i got the best possible 415 helmet from residuum
and i got the best possible 415 chest from residuum two weeks ago
and my 385 shoulders are better than all the 400 shoulders in the raid
so in context really not too torn up about the wrists
