I thought I'd give Wargroove a break and try The Messenger. Finished the first level. Pretty fun, great throwback gameplay. Any idea how long the game or how many levels there are in total?

Tuned in to Wumbo for a second to confirm and a T-spin sends more lines than a Tetris.

Also just after I tuned in he actually lost so I’m pretty sure I’m cursed.

Oh. Oh my. *happy noises* I freaking loved playing AAC on PC. Portable, new campaign!? Yessss, inject it into my veins.

Also splurged and picked up Tropical Freeze and Puyo Puyo Tetris while they were both on sale. I'm so bad at Puyo/Tetris, but it's great. Tropical Freeze is excellent, and so much better than NSMBU it's not funny.

I was so ready to get AAC for the Wii U but it never happened. I bought it on PS4 cause the devs were some cool folks from QLD. Unfortunately I only have 2 controllers and never really got into it. I reckon I could give it another chance on Switch,

Cactus looks like a twin stick shooter, yeah? Would that actually work well on joycons? Maybe for vets of Smash TV for SNES, but I woulda thunk normal humans would find those controls unpleasant

I'm not sure what you're getting at here? I mean there are two analogue sticks and some other buttons including triggers. What about them is it you think won't work?

    T-spin single/double/triple is 2/4/6 trash sent.
1/2/3/4 line clears at once is worth 0/1/2/4
combos (consecutive line clears) are worth +1 on combo 1, +1 on combo 2, +2 on combo 3, +2 on combo 4, etc. I think it tops out at +5 for a 10 combo.

For example, clearing 2 lines, then on the next piece clear 2, then on the next piece clear 1, you will send:
1, 1+1, 0+1. 4 total trash sent, as much as a Tetris, only a ton easier.

I think it's lame that T-spins or whatever else sends more over than a Tetris (same was true in Puyo Puyo Tetris). The game is called Tetris...why is it not the most powerful if it is not the goal?

I try to set up a t-spin but half the time I botch it and now I have an ugly stack. Now my stack is high up early while I try to recover so everyone set to target KOs sends me all their garbage.

T Spins seem like high risk high reward. But I feel like this devalues the regular tetris fundamentals that we all have.

I went through and thoroughly destroyed Gungeon on the Switch, so I'm fairly certain twin stick shooters work well on it.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.

Pretty sure they meant "how to twin stick shooters work when using a single joy-con turned sideways." That configuration doesn't have two sticks. I assume it just makes you only have 8-directional shooting? Or you aim with the stick and only move in 8 directions with the face buttons? *shrug*

Honestly I've given up on seeing ports of DS games on anything else because nothing else has the tech needed. So no Elite Beat Agents, no Henry Hatsworth, no Meteos.

I have to say, I kinda hate the Switch's internet receiver. I activate my hotspot, and sometimes it connects, and sometimes it doesn't. I still can't guess why. Currently trying to convince it to connect so I can play some Smash in this little free time I have, but instead I've spent the last half hour trying to get it to connect to the same connection I was using to play yesterday with no success.

I still love that Nintendo couldn't resist having a bit of fun with his name in the press release announcing his hire.
Nintendo of America Hires Bowser as New VP of Sales

Doug Bowser Brings Decades of Experience, Not Fire Breath, to New Role

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nintendo of America has hired a new Vice President to lead the United States sales organization with a name that’s well-known in the Mushroom Kingdom. Effective today, Doug Bowser (no relation to the King Koopa and Mario’s longtime nemesis) will oversee a variety of sales-related functions, including Sales, In-store Merchandising, Retail Strategy and Retail Marketing.

Honestly, this was probably the best time for Reggie to retire. Nintendo's doing fantastic right now, so he can say he moved on at the peak of his success.

The big question is what he'll do now. I seriously doubt he'll simply retire.

I don't know what Reggie was like behind the scenes, but in public appearances he always struck me as a bit too 'corporate safe'. So I don't think I'll miss him much.

Wonder when Bowser will make his grand debut. E3?

He should do it in Bowser cosplay. He's gotta do something drastic to upstage Reggie's entrance into the role.
