I remember a thing where an abandoned amusement-park's ferris-wheel sometimes worked, and if someone got on they just didn't come out and the ferris-wheel stopped existing again.

I liked the one where the monster in the closet was a human and the world was already aliens, even if the effects were horrible and the acting was horrible and it made zero sense.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

I mean, it was fine. Considering that the actual scariest theme park CYOA had already been written several years before.
You know the worst episodes of the goosebumps show were the "oh they were aliens all along but we had to make them people to preserve the twist" ones
I liked the one where the monster in the closet was a human and the world was already aliens, even if the effects were horrible and the acting was horrible and it made zero sense.
It works great in that book because they never describe how anyone looks and the monster is invisible so its a fun twist. So seriously tragic.
It weird that kid was the sequel hook villian in the movie though. He wasnt evil.

Sometimes I wonder whether the Goosebumps point+click adventure game deliberately hung whilst I tried to get to the other side of those slides, or whether the computer just crashed.

I remember this book.
I don't remember that ending though. If I'm being completely honest, childhood me would peek at all options when given a choice. If one seemed like it was death from a quick skim, I would pick otherwise.
Oh maaaan the haunted theme park was one of my favorite Goosebump books! And for some reason also the scariest to me? Some of the books didn't bother me, the endings were too goofy/jokey and not actually frightening. But man, I distinctly remember waking up in bed after a nightmare or two from reading that book.
the thing about goosebumps was that they were so UNEVEN in terms of scariness.
most of them were incredibly tame, some were kinda scary, and a few were really intense if they hit your specific fears.
How to Kill a Monster scared the shit out of me as a child, as did The Beast From the East.
The best Goosebumps book was the one where she turned into a bird at the end and the last sentence was, like, "So I ate a worm and it tasted good, the end."

I read a bunch of those CYOA Goosebumps books but I guess I was too old for them to leave an impression on my psyche. I just remember the one with a genie where you can pull the "I wish for infinite wishes" trick and it works, the genie's like, "Oh you got me."

I only remember the ending where the character wish's to be rich then goes into a store like a dipstick and goes "FREE SHOES FOR EVERYONE." And then gets arrested for not having enough money on him to pay for literally every pair of shoes in the store cause like everyone saw this random kid go "Hey free shoes." and just grabbed shoes and booked it apparently.

Beast from the East still haunts me to this day, probably 25 years after I read it. A game with rules you have no idea about, where you will die if you lose, playing against literal monsters. And then just when you think you accidentally came out ahead, you find out you actually just upped the difficulty. Fucking terrifying.
