    Oh totally.

So you don’t have much time before that all starts to decide if you want to alternate them or do like two pancakes sandwiched between two waffles

I have had the fluffy soufflé pancake

    They’re fine.

There is only one exception to the Waffles inherent superiority...and that is the Jersey Shore. I do not know how or why, but those are the best pancakes on the planet and they edge out the mighty waffle.

Inside of a dog...it's too dark to read.

I find them a bit too sweet to have as a meal; they'd be pretty nice as a dessert

Waffles must have been pretty flat at the Worlds Fair to make the first waffle cone.

I think they were originally more of like one of those slender waffled cookies, rather than like a big fat Belgian waffle like we typically eat here in the states. Or something? Or maybe cats were just wrapping whole-ass waffles around ice cream which yeah I get that.

My only contribution is that both pancakes and waffles are really good when made with Oatly milk.

If I found a reliable source of Stroopwaffel ice cream cones (or bowls) I might kill myself gorging upon them.

Fortunately, the closest I've seen is a Stroopwaffel ice cream sandwich.

I'm nailing these posts to the door of the Coldstone

Edit: #hottakesoncoldtreats but Coldstone needs to calm the hell down. Eating Coldstone is like ice cream monkey's paw. I've never finished a thing I got from Coldstone and I've never gotten a large anything there, and I'm fat as fuck. And stop making your people dance for tips that shit is hellish.

    Wait what? Dancing what?

So, last I heard, Coldstone required employees to do a little song and dance whenever you gave em a tip. Like you could get written up for not dancing.

I didn't know that until I was leaving after my first visit. I felt embarrassed for myself and them after I casually put a dollar into the jar.

They're good when I feel in the mood for a sweet breakfast, but the ones I've had here in Taiwan really aren't all that sweet.

I prefer pancakes over waffles as long as we are talking the larger, thinner ones like crepes (or as I have always known them: Finnish pancakes).

The "normal" pancakes, the low-diameter thicker ones, I don't really like. Definitely waffles over those.

whenever i eat pancakes, i feel like the last few bites are more of an endurance test than a delicious meal. i've had that feeling with waffles too, only much more rarely, and sometimes when i'm eating pancakes i'll get tired of pancakes while i'm chewing.

I don't think I have ever experienced this feeling ever in my life.

Oh hell yes. I would like to add one more egg and cheese but man does that look like a nice warm treat on a cold day.

I don't know about a second egg, I think that may make it a bit unwieldy to eat. Kind of hurts the street food appeal of the thing.
Some cheese and maybe some crispy bacon or some crumbled sausage wouldn't hurt.

    Pancake day today

I'm making American pancakes at work
A brit is making British pancakes (a travesty)
And one of our French employees is making crepes

I will crush them before the superior might of American pancakes
    Crepes are great too.

We did pancake day on Sunday for lunch. I managed to snag some super-sweet strawberries that were on sale so as well as the usual orange / lemon and sugar I made a few that were Nutella and strawberry.

    They were dangerously good

    Why, they look fine?

I’d punch some one if they served them to me if I THOUGHT I was receiving American pancakes, but as their own thing, why not?

It's what most of Europe would call a traditional pancake. Non of that american backing powder stuff
    I like both kinds

To me they are the luke warm water of pancakes

Not fluffy enough and conversely, not thin enough. But mostly I find them texturally off putting - they kinda have this spongy texture that I'm not into.

But British pancakes and crêpes are the same thing?

Are you getting confused with galettes? The buckwheat flour pancakes?

They are definitely not the same thing! Crepes are thinner and larger than British pancakes for one

The thinness matters and has major effects on texture for me

They are totally the same! I've got plenty of experience with having a French partner and having lived in both the UK and France.

Google says this is not the case, and they are indeed different. They have similarities, but are not the same.
