I enjoyed the two mainline Star Wars films thus far, haven't seen Solo, and R1 was a snoozefest for me personally.
I guess what we're all saying here is that it really depends on what Lucasarts turns out, but even then, we've all got personal interests and anything they turn out will be received in different ways.

Rogue One was the best Star Wars movie. I will fight over this.
I said films plural, cause we balance out R1 (which I had issues with its second half) with the alright sequels and the Solo film I still have not seen so I do not have an opinion on.
Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope are still better movies than Rogue One in structure and execution though not in inclusiveness
For those who haven't seen Solo yet, it's still on Netflix for the time being so maybe watch it while you don't have to pony up for disney's service. If you have Netflix.
Its worth a watch and i didn't find anything egregious about it. Plus they specifically mention Teras Kasi so props for the people at least acknowledging the deeper lore of the universe.
@Karoz decided I needed more porny questionable VNs in my life. (Not an inaccurate assessment, it has to be said.) And you know it's gonna be good when @JaysonFour and @Pixelated Pixie already have it, too. Thank you so much for Demon King Domination: Deluxe Edition!

This was mentioned in the Castlevania thread, but it's relevant here too. Konami is bringing a bunch of its classic games to various modern platforms, including Steam:
First up is a bunch of arcade games, including Haunted Castle (a bad arcade Castlevania game), Typhoon, Gradius, Gradius II, Life Force, Thunder Cross, Scramble, and TwinBee.
Next is a Castlevania collection, including Castlevania I, III, IV, and the Game Boy Castlevania II. Four more titles will be announced later.
After that, a Contra collection, including what appears to be the arcade versions of Contra and Super Contra, the NES version of Super C, and Contra III: The Alien Wars. And four other games to be announced later.
Obviously I am most interested in the second collection, but it's pretty cool that they're doing this....if they do it right.
Is there a difference between Lucasfilm games and Lucasarts? Or were they the same thing?
From what I can tell, 'Lucasfilm games' was the parent company for the Lucasarts studio. They weren't the same thing exactly but this looks like it's headed in that direction.
I don't mind the Epic store. Mostly because I've been stuck using it anyways for UE4. 💀
Paying for games to be exclusive was (and continues to be) frustrating. Finding out that it was rifling through my data without permission is the point where I uninstalled it.
Ewww. Looks like the Sinking City (Cthulhu type game) will be a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store as well. That's a shame. I was looking forward to getting in on Steam. I guess I'll just have to wait.

Castlevania on Steam is cool and all, but they need to get Symphony of the Night on there. That's the one people care about.
Oh, they specifically say that this collection is the "first" collection, implying that there will be at least one more. I could easily see Symphony of the Night ending up in there.

Don't get me wrong I love competition and Steam really needs competitors but I'm with Pixie, fuck exclusivity. All exclusivity means is we see shittier sale prices and games stay at full price longer. This is especially true of epic as they aren't handing out third party keys to online retailers.

But without exclusivity, people tend to stick with the platform they have an already established presence on. Without a need to move over, people just won't. I've seen that behavior over and over again with Origin, Windows Store, Uplay, whatever.
I mean, sure, it sucks as a consumer...but to develop a platform, exclusives are kinda needed. Sure, you can toss in bundled extras to try to incentivise people to your platform (the GOG method), but it all comes back around to people still leaving their already developed library and community.

I never thought I'd see the day moneyhatting third party devs would would become an epidemic on PC.
I hope Epic burns before Valve decides to go "Alright fuckos, we're playing this game now are we?" and starts buying up as many exclusives as they can too.

Goddammit.
Et tu, Obsidian?
FUCK EPIC!
I'm told it will also be on the Microsoft store, fwiw.
I don't like the Microsoft store, but I'm at least willing to use it, unlike Epic.

I hadn't heard that. If true, I can live with that. I just flat refuse to buy anything on the EGS.

Just read that Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls, and Heavy Rain are coming to PC.
...as Epic Store exclusives
I saw that too. Interesting. Epic has deep pockets.

That's supposed to be a selling point for Epic?

Looks like the only Quantic Dream game on Steam is Omikron: The Nomad Soul.
Their masterpiece. The game that broke up SBFP.

Metro: Exodus apparently sold 2.5x the amount on the Epic store than Metro: Last Light did on Steam.
A lot of people are really keen to see Steam taken down a peg.
I wouldn't mind. I don't need another reason not to buy Borderlands.

Ok, so Epic is being a jerk, that's established and agreed.
But this, right here, is one of the reasons why I've been bitching and moaning about every single decision Valve has been making the last 5 years.
Turns out having a garbage store with no curation and eating 30% of the pie is not that great for the people who actually make the games.
Even without the moneyhats epic is throwing around, there are good reasons for devs to go over to Epic.
Now we're kinda fucked because devs are going over to Epic and we want to stay on steam.
